I have never heard that. But you should not have carbonated or sparkling water. Tap or spring water are fine too.

Lets Hear Some Bragging!
jenneliza replied to kisersassy's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
3 months post op. Started at 286 now at 213. Have lost 73 pounds (soon wonderland!) From pants 26 to 18 (can def tell that having extra skin removed next year will take down a pants size or two already!) and 3-4x to a xl shirt. Even my shoe size went down a little and my rings all fit again. This has not been easy but so very worth it. -
Giving Lb The Bad News...
jenneliza replied to ladyspl's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I can't wait to get out of lb and into cheaper stores! It's not my business but a word of advice is to keep your account open with a $0 balance. It will be better for your credit score for many reasons. I can elaborate if you want. -

Numb/ Sore Thights Post Opp
jenneliza replied to foxy747's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had numbess in my legs -primarily when sitting an especially when sitting on the toilet for weeks after my surgery. It went away in its own. I just figures it was sciatica from laying on the table and hospital bed. Hopefully same to you. I would give it a few days unless it is painful, swollen, tender, or you are afraid you will fall due to the numbness. Are you on blood thinners? Good luck. -
I use plain Greek yogurt with either onion Soup, ranch mix, or spinach dip powder packs. Good for on almost anything! Mixes great with baked potatoes, pretzel chips, etc

I use the Bariatric Advantage vanilla. nectar is good too depending on which flavor. Fuzzy navel is good!

We have something like this every week where I work and last week it was cake and ice cream. It helps to keep healthy snacks at work. The girl next to me has a candy dish and people come by all day for candy. I keep sugar free peppermint patties and werthers in my desk. Yogurt and string cheese are yummy snacks that are easy to keep at work.

Actually is nasogastric. It is a tube that goes in your nose and into your stomach. Used as a feeding tube and/or 'stomach pump'. They measure it to go into a 'normal' stomach. If they tried to force that much tubing into our bellies it could poke a hole, get tangled, or go into our guts. None of which would be therapeutic! They can be done under ultrasound or imaging guidance but not blind.

Lol exactly. It makes my belly hurt to look at it! Your thinking really does change. It sometimes amazes me how much I ate compared to how much I needed to eat to survive.

Agreed. I'm ready to say goodbye to the old me!

Try exercising before work. It will surprisingly make you feel better throughout the work day! I'm a nurse too and can't do much are a long shift on my feet.

There are many sample appeal letters online. I googled them and found some. I would say one page, one and a half max.

I love smoothies and like them sweet. My fave sweetener to add to them is stevia and a little light oj. My mix ins are Greek yogurt, spinach, protein powder, berries, and sometime bananas or almond butter.

Hoping And Praying 2013 Is A Lot Better Than 2012
jenneliza replied to tmorgan's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I'm sorry all this is going on but kudos to you for taking care of yourself so you can take care if the grandbabies. You will love the journey! I pray that 2013 is a great year for us all! -
I would say they would be fine but any time I've tried something like that they don't seem to "slide" but just sit like a brick and swell up so use caution and moderation.

I used to be on medifast. Can you do the parm puffs? How about drinks, chilli, or the brownie?
-
Yes! But if for some reason you are uncomfortable eating a whole one, don't. The first week I had a hard time if I accidentally bit some of it off. It was much easier than forcing myself to sip - and I can't stand Jello so ice pops were my favorite! At 13 weeks I still love them.

If an alcoholic had to serve and prepare alcohol for others and go to bars and watch their loved ones consume their favorite drinks while remaining sober would that be easy? Just switch us out for the alcoholic and food for drinks and this is what we go through all the time. Watching my family eat chocolate cake from the best restaurant in town the other night (on my birthday!!!) was not easy but worth it. There are many challenging moments like missing the annual Greek food festival bc there is no way i want to watch my friends eat gyros and baklava. And right now I can't sleep bc I've got a piece of chicken stuck and it hurts!

I always want wings so just make cut up chunks of baked chicken with bleu cheese and hot sauce. And a Hershey's kiss or two - just suck on them!

A nurse put one on me a few hours after and mysurgeon got very upset. You shouldn't need one this long if your surgery was not open. They can also keep you from taking deep enough breaths.

Getting Nicotine Out Of Your System
jenneliza replied to kimpossible67's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I also used the e cigarette. It helped a lot. Don't buy refills at first - I never made it through the first set that came with it.
