No water?

Walking is always important. My doc doesn't give gas x to his patients in the hospital but best believe I took some as soon as I got home. My nurses were calling me a rock star bc I walked so much but it wasn't getting the gas out nearly as well as the gas x.

You could make good $$ offering vegan and gluten free options as well!

Feel better soon. Rest up while you can!

It depends what you are allowed. At that point I could only have sugar free clear liquid. Sugar free pops and sugar free jello were good. Just had to portion out the jello first. I liked to get broth in just to get something salty. Are you throwing up? That can mean you are drinking too much or too fast. If this continues you should call your doctor.

Good luck! The waiting game is no fun. Try to stay busy!

I had extra skin from my 2nd pregnancy. Gained 100 lbs and lost it all. I had extra skin and if I wore a very tight shirt you could see that my belly was a little wrinkled. There were definitely things I couldn't wear but I was happy with my body and you will be too. You will learn that things like wrap tops, rouching, and other styles are more flattering. My ex didn't mind it. And after we broke I dated and the boyfriends I had over the years didn't mind either. it's not that bad.

Enter The Evil Stepmother
jenneliza replied to SheVsMe's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You know deep inside that you are not taking the easy way out. This is challenging. Moreso than any diet and exercise program out there. And not to mention you are brave. It's really a shame that people don't take the time to learn about the surgery before they voice their opinions. It's difficult but I would recommend taking the high road. Let her voice her opinions - she obviously needs to do so to make herself feel better. Just know that her opinions and mean words won't stop you from reaching your goals. You deserve the best and she can't stop you. -

Scared To Death Help!
jenneliza replied to Bert_n_ernie's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It is normal and healthy to be nervous. Trust that your doctor is responsible enough not to operate on someone who is unsafe for surgery. Anesthesia also has to approve that you are safe for surgery before the fact. You will be fine! -
I've heard the same thing that most people maintain at about 10-16 pounds above their lowest weight post op. I can't attest for this but have heard many talk about the five day pouch test to retrain yourself. Like I said, can't vouch for it but worth looking into if you want.

Anyone Else Have This ?

I agree that it sounds like dehydration which can cause low blood pressure. -
It does sound like you are ready for change for the right reasons. This is a great source for support. Welcome!

I wrote this in my clear liquid phase after surgery. Since I could add protein back in, they don't taste as good. Now the Swiss chocolate is wonderful! They usually do a bogo.

For that long of a flight, blood clots are definitely a concern so talking to your doctor will be wise. Let them know that you will not lift your luggage! You will be offerred a soda in flight likely - just ask for Water frequently and hydrate during your layover. Some days are easier than others for me -I'm 11 days out now. Hydrating is my main issue -it's just difficult! My family event this weekend went well. I did have some moments where I wish I could have had my uncles yummy smoked ribs but reminded myself that I can next year. This year I just sipped a Protein drink while everyone ate and sat there and joked around with them. It wasn't bad! Good luck and enjoy your trip!

100+ To Loose

I had the same issue a week before and went to pcp. She gave me a z pack just in case. Didnt want rescheduled. Would yours? Feel better soon!
-
You definitely should talk to your doctor. The first rule about bp meds we learned in school was that they don't always need to reduce bp to normal like 100/60 bc that could be too low for the patient. Good luck and make sure you are hydrated!

Welcome! Everyone here is so nice and supportive. -
The only thing I paid for was my fmla and short term disability forms $10. And our monthly weight loss classes were $20 each cash.

How about appetizers? I'm still on liquids so haven't gone out yet. Have you had luck finding low carb ones? The only thing that comes to mind would be like stuffed mushrooms or shrimp cocktail.

Welcome! It sounds like many of us myself included kind of stumbled on this app and site. Everyone here is very supportive and open! I am only 10 days out so can relate to that anxiety about the surgery and anesthesia. I assume you had some preop labs X-ray or EKG? This should help reassure you that you are safe for surgery. I'm still having cravings although I know many don't at this point so we are all different. You will be able to eat your favorites in the future. After you get to a certain point you can have foods like Chinese but more like beef and broccoli or garlic shrimp but not noodles and rice bc of carbs. I know ppl who are a year or so out and will have half a slice of pizza. Sooner than that you can have a homemade low carb pizza. As you go along keep in touch with your nutritionist. They are a great source of knowledge and motivation as well.
