I hear ya. My surgeon is hardcore. Can't even do puree until 3 weeks post op. I'm going nuts! It makes me want to cheat knowing that others are eating at this point and I can't. Would kill for something that isn't Splenda flavored! And my body must know what it needs bc all I'm craving is protein!

Mmm will do this in a puree as soon as I'm allowed!

Yes just blend it up. It tastes like chocolate pie filling. Yum!

One Week Post Op Info
jenneliza replied to jenneliza's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thanks! I only lost 4 pounds this week so I'm not too pleased with the results. But that's still 30 pounds in three weeks. The pain was not bad. On day 8 I walked the mall for over an hour. I went walking 2 miles three times this week with no real pain. I've gone back to all normal housework, cooking, gardening, etc. I could be working but am going to take advantage of this while I can. I go back next week. As soon as I hit the one month mark will start couch to 5k! -

I've had a difficult getting through the turnstyles at our ballpark. Definitely embarrassing. Although best believe it won't happen again! -

Thanks looks yummy! -
Can't purée yet but I think garlic shrimp or chicken teriyaki would mush well.

They are bogo right now!

I've read several times that your body often confuses thirst for hunger so maybe try drinking? I have also tea other posters say that they have to go up to 80 protein daily to feel good...

Wow missed this thread the first time around. Welcome and congrats on your amazing success. I stopped running about 10 years ago and can't wait to get cleared and start again -
Are you waiting 30 minutes to eat and drink?

Good article. I like the positive spin of "I don't"! Thanks for sharing.

You can't wear a tampon or pad during surgery but they can put extra padding under you. It's only a few hours. After surgery they will help you get cleaned up and you can wear a tampon again but no undies. After they take the catheter out you can wear undies again.

Good luck! You will do great! You know the drill, rest, walk, pain meds and keep us posted!

I my kids were 8 and 10 when I told them. Just spin it positively getting on rides at the fair, pier, amusement park, roller skating, hiking, horseback riding, bike riding. I focused it on how it would benefit them in ways they will like. And I did promise to do all the above with them!

Full Liquids ..
jenneliza replied to americas_suiteheart's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Sugar free puddings, thinned yogurt (with protein shake) if you can find any that are low carb enough. -
I also have smell issues. Went to walmart today and every isle smelled a different kind of bad. I just wanted to puke. Baby oatmeal worked for me. Had a smooth texture but no crazy smell. I did mix it with some vanilla protein shake to thin it down.

Cant Get Brain To Stop
jenneliza replied to Bert_n_ernie's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I think it's normal. I went through the same and still am at almost two weeks out. Every night is full of several crazy dreams. I think it must also have a metabolic component to it. -
