I am ready to try yogurts again. I know Greek yogurt is the best option but I can't find any that are low carb enough. My favorite brand is Cabot and chobani but they seem to have too much sugar... Like 10-30 grams. What is everyone using? Thanks

Spiru-Tien Protien Mix
jenneliza replied to roxyraquel's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
Just with Water. I like to add a little mio tangerine and keep it ice cold. I'm going to try to mix it with some kinds of crystal light. I'm going to try some of the other flavors and ordered a variety pack. -

Spiru-Tien Protien Mix

Watch out with those shots, their Protein is incomplete. I love the Syntrax nectar powders. The Fuzzy Navel is good and more like juice. The chocolate truffle with unsweetened almond milk is great too. Check return policies from your stores. The Vitamin Shoppe told me that I could return my powder if I didn't like it! -
Ahh A Great Dinner!
jenneliza replied to dstollery's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Omg it would take me all day to eat that! Haven't been brave enough for mashed potatoes or anything starchy yet. Can you tolerate them well? Looks super yummy! -

Just had some for dinner -granted I chopped them up in the food processor. 3 was all it took to fill me up. If you want shrimp cocktail, there are some great low carb or sugar free ones out there!

No, but had to say hey. Used to live in SA and miss it so much! Seriously maybe a trip back will be my reward for meeting my goal You can never explain how very beautiful it is to people that have never been there!! Used to work at BAMC. Great place!

Body pillow and one wedged behind my back to keep me from on my side was the only way I could do it.

From friends that have had WLS those with bypass were much more successful. And I didn't want to go through all the emotional ordeals of not being successful. I would be hard on myself and ashamed. Having consequences for not following the rules (dumping) was attractive to me too. Supplementing is a small price to pay for being a normal weight again. Go big or go home:)

Should be fine. Don't over cook it and chew well! Ive heard it can get stuck if its tough and dry.

I had 2 c sections and three other abdominal surgeries. My plan b was to do an open bypass. He said there were lots of scarring and surgery took an hour longer than expected but he got it done lap so don't give up hope! And a sleeve is better than nothing even if it's plan b.

I would say it depends in how adventurous you want to be. If you want to let the other one do most of the work then as soon as you aren't in pain like a few days. If your trying to go for wild gymnastic marathon sex then you'll be waiting for awhile

Weird Pre-Surgery Jitters
jenneliza replied to SheVsMe's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Idk if you want to know all if this but I've worked in an OR before. Most of laparoscopic surgeries the patient is already positioned and draped head to toe by the nurses before the doctor comes in to the room. The drape has to be there before they can start an the docs usually just talk to each other in the hallways while the nurses, techs, and anesthesiologist are setting up. And they don't care. They see naked bodies every day. Just wait till your one year follow up and then you can wow him! -
2 Months Food Idea
jenneliza replied to kiwiladydee's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I got some nectar Fuzzy Navel. I'm going to have that for at least one meal -I'm thinking lunch to space out the solids and it's actually good! It's thin and goes down pretty easy. The guy at The Vitamin Shoppe told me that if you buy there and don't like the flavor you can return it which is good since it's so expensive. I know it's not food but at least it will help with the protein/hydration! -
I got a little desperate last night bc of feeling so crappy. Even though I've got about 8 kinds of protein at home -most of which I can't tolerate anymore- I went to get some Nectar. I just tried the Fuzzy Navel for breakfast and it's defnitely doable. Can hopefully get more liquids and protein in with it. The Vitamin Shoppe sells it and they told me if you don't like the flavor, it can be exchanged for a different one. Plan B would be to try the Lemonade Flavor.

2 Months Food Idea

I'm in the same boat. Just can't get the shakes down like I used to. Can't stand isopure either. I eat a few baby spoons and then so full. Too full to even get my water in. I'm thinking about going back to full liquids for a few days and just forgetting about food. -
Wow the loss definitely shows! Congrats!

I had a half-caf sugar free hazelnut skinny latte today which I used to live off today and it tasted terrible. Ive been drinking my decaf black tea daily or echinnacea tea and love it. I was honestly disappointed when I realized coffee didn't taste good anymore

My first puréed food was a breadless crab cake in the food processor!
