How To Manage Work After Rny?
jenneliza replied to Christopher's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I do a protein shake for a quick breakfast and made a bunch of frozen lunches in tiny containers like chilli, crab cakes, etc. go to theworldaccordingtoeggface.com and search bites. They are very easy to make ahead and freeze for grab and go! I keep a water bottle with me everywhere at work to sip sip sip all day. Its almost easier now that in working bc all the meals are premade and easy. -
I haven't been brave enough to try Greek yogurt since surgery and I love it but did try the diabetic friendly low carb dannon. Don't try it! It's not good at all!

I tried egg and it felt like it got stuck and only a few bites filled me up. I think because it's very dense and kind of dry. I have heard that poached eggs go down much easier - and they aren't as dry...

Dont Lose Focus. Its Worth It!

Congrats you look great! -
I had those same feelings but realize that if your doctor thought you weren't safe for surgery he would never agree to it. And trust me ppl get turned away for being too sick all the time. They care about you and dont want anythjng bad to happen to uou or lose their license. How safe and healthy will you be in 10 years if you continue on your same path wo surgery? I felt better and more in control by making a will and writing just in case letters to my kids. Maybe a bit overboard but assuring.

And for less than 60 cals you can't go wrong! I made two batches and froze them for quick lunches or dinners! Crab meat goes in sale pretty frequently so that's always a good time to grab some

Congrats!

So glad everything was ok and now you can move on to a healthier future! -
I miss coffee so much and still have a bunch of starbucks gift cards left over. What kind of things can you order that are rny friendly? thanks!
-
Thanks!! Glad you like them! I'll post the recipe when I get home but here is the nutritional info. I like that it is puréed before baking so it doesn't look like mush.

Wow small world I live in York! Only 30 mins from you! My surgery was on 7/11/12 so almost a month out. I'm getting ready to be more aggressive with exercise. What do you do? And did you ease into exercising or just jump right in?

Agreed. Definitely call your doctor they will either give you encouragement or take a look at you. But I would be suspicious of an ulcer. Good luck!

Gastric Band
jenneliza replied to jeanetteramirez2's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Everyone is different. My nurse put one on me and the next day my dr got upset bc he didn't want me to wear it. He said only for opens, not lap. In prior surgeries it was 4 weeks. -
Had a drain for 8 days. It didn't hurt at all to have it pulled out. I've had them before after a csection and didn't hurt them either. Don't worry they aren't as bad as everyone thinks!

Im A Month Out How Many Calories Should I Be Comsumig
jenneliza replied to nannon32's topic in Food and Nutrition
At this point it would be almost impossible for you to go way over a reasonable amount of calories so don't stress too much. Like losingit said every group is different but protein and hydration are the bigger goals at this point. -
Largest Incision On Right Side
jenneliza replied to americas_suiteheart's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yes. So many people say that the dr did all the work on the left and that was where they are sore but mine did all the work on the right and that is where my largest site was. Maybe yours did too. -
I tried calorie king and my fitness pal. Stuck with my fitness pal. Liked it much better. It also works with fit bits. Plan on havin Santa bring me one!

Ahh A Great Dinner!
jenneliza replied to dstollery's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Where do you get that optimum gold powder? I made a proper Sunday dinner (we all then farm dinners) of roasted chicken, mashed potatoes, and veggies tonight. Had some potatoes and they were great! Was so happy they didn't cause dumping! -
Mmmm looks great! Can't wait for asparagus again! Salmon is on the menu tomorrow here yay!
