Sick Of Feeling Sick
music1618 replied to bellepink77's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Talk to your doctor. I had the same issues last week and with the help of phenergan and reglan and today I feel much better -
My relationship changed with food in a big way. Due to my nausea and vomiting I actually dread eating. I am not hungry anymore which is wonderful. I still have bad cravings and never noticed how many commercials and tv shows that have food. The hardest thing is being around people that can eat whatever.

music1618 posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I Am having so many problems. I can't seem to keep much down. I am on the pureed part of my diet, but i am suppose to be able to eat anything starting tomorrow. This was supposed to be a great day of trying new things and instead i dread food. The thought of it makes my stomach turn. I am 6 weeks post-op. my doc says this is normal and thing will get better. He has given me meds to help with the nausea and vomiting. I am so miserable right now. Can anyone tell how long this phase lasted for them? -

You can also try valerian root. Make sure you get the one without the odor. -
How Hungary Are You Post Op?
music1618 replied to princemark75's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I hardly ever feel hungry. If I am a little sip of water does the trick. I am on prednisone (steroids) for rhuematoid arthritis and before surgery I was HUNGRY all the time. I would wake up at 3:00am from a dead sleep hungry. It is the nature of that medication. After the surgery I have been overjoyed that I am never hungry. My problem with that is that I am usually forcing myself to eat an that is getting harder and harder. I am still learning what I can and can not eat. You do know when your pouch is full. Please also remember everyone is different. Surgery date 6/5/12 weighed 255 current 224. -
You Arent That Big Expression !
music1618 replied to americas_suiteheart's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
That is close to my measurements. You are doing the surgery for you and that is all that matters. We all have our own self image and if yours is 100 pounds lighter than who cares what anyone else says. This journey is hard enough with your own personal demons please dont let anyone else give you theirs! Stay strong!!! -
I started at 255. Just weighed myself and I am officially at 30lbs!

Have had such a bad day. I have not eaten because I got sick yesterday several times. I also had cravings all day of things I used to eat. I am happy with my weight loss so far 30 in a month, but these are the days I ask my self is it worth it. I knew people here would understand. Thanks for letting me vent a little. Samantha

I know I should eat, but after being so sick yesterday it is tough to be motivated. I got sick in the am from medication, and at night I tried fish for the first time and my body did not agree with my choice for dinner.

What All Do I Need For Right After My Surgery?
music1618 replied to Cheryl Barfoot's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
A friend of mine told me to get sippy cups and they worked great. Easy to monitor how much I was drinking and eliminated the air that you suck in with straws. -
You Know You Could Die Right?
music1618 replied to landensmommy10's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I don't think many people truly understand how hard this process is. I am 1 month post op and have dealt with issues I never dreamed I would have to deal with. This has been the hardest thing I have ever done, but is also the most rewarding. I know in the end I will be healthy and have my life back! I did not realize I would miss chewing my food. However it is the first time I have truly enjoyed eating. Last week I could eat mashed potatoes and I savord ever bite! I look forward to trying new foods. Keep your head up and listen to your heart! -
I am like you and like to drink water during my meal. Well last night I had some water a few mintues after I was done eating and then I threw up. It is my second time to throw up and it was not pleasent at all. I usually get nauseated when I drink during a meal. Hang in there.

Issues With Protein
music1618 replied to music1618's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Does the boost drinks taste chalky? -
Has anyone had issues with protein? I have narrowed down my bowel issues to protein. I believe it is whey protein that is making my intestines hurt. I have had horrible diahrea since increasing my protein to the recommend amount. It is making my days seem very long and frustrating.

Sugar free things give me migraines. I found a beef protein shot at gnc - plan to try that and hope I can choke it down. -
