Sh!t Just Got Real. Regrets.
music1618 replied to got2bethin's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Remember as you begin to workout you are building muscle and muscle weighs more than fat. I have stalls all the time when I introduce something new. This is a long race not a sprint. The weight will come off just be patient! -
IT was tough for me tonight. My mom and I went to see rod Stewart tonight and have been going to se him for 20 years. After every concert we stopped by ihop for a slice of pie. Well tonight there was no point in stopping so we kept driving home. It feels weird not going through with our tradition and got me thinking what traditions have you given up and what other am I going to give up.

Sh!t Just Got Real. Regrets.
music1618 replied to got2bethin's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I think we all go through this period. I regretted my decision when I was hving a hard time keeping foods down. I was miserable and emotional. It was a real struggle to remember why I did this. It is hard to drive down the road and see all the places you used to eat, but now you can't. I hated hearing what I am about to say so please bare with me. It does get easier and the weigh comes off and you will remember why you did this. Keep your chin up! This is a temporary stop on this life changing event! -

Try hewing ice. It is crunchy, and you are getting your liquids in. I found that sonic drive in ice is the best! -

Urine Catherter? :/
music1618 replied to preshiz pink's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had one placed during my hystorectomy and I am goin to be honest I hated every minute of it. It felt like there was pressure and I could not get comfortable. I did like that I could just relax and pee, but the it was not worth the feeling of pressure and discomfort. It did not hurt coming out at all though. -
I will say that my pouch will let me know if I drink to much. This may sound bad, but throwing up water is so easy compared to food. I will happily throw up water!

I really base it on how my stomach is feeling that day and what time of day it is. It seems mornings I have to sip, but as the day progresses I can drink more and more with each drink.

My doc said that is normal

My hubby was very scared about the surgery. He supported me 100%, but was so nervous. The night before my surgery he said he did not sleep at all. I had my parents calm him down during the surgery. I had to finally tell him he wa increasing my anxiety about everything and needed him to calm down. Just be open and honest with him. Talking things out is the best way!

Think about getting the wii fit. It has a lot you can do as well. Yoga, strength, endurance and etc

Most doctors do their heavy work on the left side for the rny. So it is normal to have pain on that left side. However call your doctors office and make sure!
-
I have found that when I introduce new foods I stall for about a week. I think it is completly normal!

Get some gas x or beano.

My urine color is usually pretty clear, but sometimes it will change darker. I know the clear is what I want, and watch my color everytime.

A Little Encouragement To Those Who Are Struggling
music1618 posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I just wanted to give everyone a little encouragement that are having issues. Three weeks ago I was sick everyday an felt like I would never eat normal again. I regreted my decision everyday to have this surgery. I cried at the doctors office and generally felt horrible everyday. I got tired of hearing it will get better just hang in there. Well I have come out the other side and feel great. I am now getting protein in by whole foods and I have been able to eat almost everything I wanted to. So in conclusion stay strong and remember the reason you had the surgery. It will get better and although you can not see it now you will be happy you did this. Yesterday I put on a pair of pants that were always too tight to be comfortable and they were almost too big for me!!! -

Always remember that exercising increases your muscle mass and that weighs more than fat. I have struggled with losing as well. I am 8 weeks post op and I am down 37 pounds I can't seem to say goodbye to the 220's! -
I had that and I hate to tell you but it is still going on three weeks later. Everyone keeps saying it gets better.

Burping Not Eating?

I would talk with your doctor. -

I have had a rough time as well. I am throwing up about once a day. It is frustrating to watch people eat and all you think about is - if I eat that I will get so sick. The weight loss is nice, but I am ready to eat good again. Everyone says it will get better, and I really want to push the - easy button an be back to my new normal.

I played soccer last night for the first time since the surgery. Everything went well except staying hydrated. My mouth was so dry and if I drank water I got nauseated. So my question is has anyone returned to a sport or just working out had this issue and what did you do to overcome it.
