You can also try just plain ice. You get the crunchy feeling most of us crave after surgery and your fluids. -

I thought I was losing in my boobs, but no luck. Had to buy a bra last week and it is the same size. 42F - I am excited to get rid of these things just wish it was sooner than later. I am still wearing large shirts because of my chest. The shirts are really big every where except my chest. -
I would like the excel list as well. Music1618@yahoo.com

My suggestion to you is consult with several surgeons before choosing one. I interviewed two. This doctor will have a major impact in your life. -
Your cravings may be worse because of the surgery. You hve what is called as head hunger. It will pass and cheating will make you miserable.

I am officially under 200 today, and I played my first outdoor soccer game after my surgery. I was without my typical pain and exhaustion. Surgery date was June 5 and I am down 57 pounds. My first two months were tough with nausea and vomiting. I regretted my decision almost everyday and now I love it!!!!!

I have RA and the weight loss has helped. I am having a flare right now, but confident it is the crazy weather and issues with insurance and medication. -

7 weeks was when I was having all my issues. Just keep your chin up and try new foods. I know it is tough to think to eat new things, but you will find something you can eat. Also make sure your doctor knows what's going on with you as well. -

How long are you post op? -
Drinks go to your head a lot faster. When you first have a drink make sure you are at home with someone you trust.

A friend of mine who has had the surgery about a year ago said the first few months she had them all the time.

Hit Two Goals Today

I hated hearing it will get better when I felt so horrible, but it is true! -
I think everyone has their own idea of what looks good. To some people looking really skinny is their ideal look. For me if I weighed what my height says I would fall over. I would be skin bones and boobs. Once you start getting to your ideal look you can ease up a little on the restrictions.

You and I are in the same boat together. I noticed blood in my urine yesterday and will be seeing my pcp today. I had a bladder infection over a month ago and discussed it with my surgeon. It is common for us to get bladder infections now due to the decrease in fluid intake. I would still call your surgeon to let them know what is going on. Good luck and hopefully you do not have the pain I have right now.

That is why I have always been honest about my surgery. I never wanted people to question why I am looking thinner.

Ask for reglan it is a little stronger than zofran. Zofran would not work on me at first, but reglan did the trick. -
I had wine about 2 months post op. no problems, but it goes to your head very very fast. My advise if you want to drink - drink at home with a friend first so you know how your body will react. I know I can never have one drink and drive home again like I did before the surgery.

Going Back To Work?
music1618 replied to pebbles7673's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I found that I realized the donuts, Starbucks and etc was not worth it. You will more than likely get sick if you eat that stuff and I hate throwing up at work. -

Similar Situation Opinions Wanted

I went through this about a month ago. My surgery was June 5. My doc said it can be very normal. He gave me nausea meds - phenergan, reglan and zofran. Then he also gave me a scapolimean patch. It helps people going on cruises with motion sickness. He said the patch will get rid of excess saliva. I asked him what was going on and he said that when people start losing weight their body releases toxins and those toxins can make you feel like you feel right now. It took me about a month to eat with taking the medication. It was a tough month, but I just ate what I could tolerate. -
Call your doctor and let them know what is going on.

What you are going through is completly normal. I had buyers remorse for about 6 weeks. I am now three months post op and things are much better. Talk to your husband and let him know what you felt so that he can help you through this. He needs to understand how you feel. My husband bought a chocolate pie when I was about a month post op and after a long discussion he understood my feelings. I hated hearing this, but it does get better!

I would say that to reduce your stress you need to find something positive in your life. From what I read you were focused on the stresses in your life - what you can not have to eat or drink. Instead find something positive to focus on. Getting your daughter back is your goal so think of ways to make that happen. Maybe find a hobby that helps reduce your stress. For me it has been soccer. Since my surgery tht has been my goal. Lose weight so playing soccer is enjoyable again. I understand having chronic pain. I have had RA for about 10 years now and my mom has fibro. Focus on what reduces your pain without pain medication and I think you will see things will start to look up. In my city the MS society puts on a free gentle yoga class for those with chronic pain. Maybe check into that and see if they offer that in your city. It was great on the joints and will relax you. If you are always worried about an ulcer you will eventually get an ulcer so try to calm down and find good things in your life to focus on. I hope that helps. Hang in there!
