    Ulcers After Bypass

I am not really having issues eating. It seems that it depends what doctor I speak with over this will depend on a diagnosis.

    Cold Sores?!?

It could just be stress related. We have put our body though a lot and stress has certain ways of showing it self.
  3. I have had lots of experience with this with coworkers. I have rhuematoid arthritis and do not tell anyone because the few I told at my last job seemed to back fire on me. It is your personal business and now days people look for a way to climb up the ladder without earning it.
  4. You will find during this journey who your true friends are. You will also find that you have an inner strength you did not know exist. Keep in mind all relationships have to change once you make this decision. People look at you differently. New friends will come along and meet the healthy skinny version of yourself and take pride that their new friend chose life over food. It dawned on me that people who have never met me do not know the "fat" Samantha, instead they see the new happy and healthy me. I can show them pictures and hear oh wow that does not even look like you. I guess the bottom line is all though this hurts now in a few months it will be a distant memory and you will realize this person was just jealous and wants you to be miserable with them. This is their attempt to sabatoge your success and life. Don't let them succeed!
  5. Went to the doc complaining of a headache mainly. I also had nausea, vomiting and diahrea. I have migraine headaches so those symptoms were not really out of the ordinary. I left with the dignisis of my 4th UTI since the surgery, c diff, and my gallbladder is going bad. Going to see my doctor again on Monday. I had another gallbladder attack last night and fear it is going to get worse and worse. Just when I started feeling normal again. I am really tired of the UTI and hope my doc can figure something out. I am about 5 months post op and have lost 75.
  6. It has been different items each time. Last night it was the dairy I believe that made me hurt

    I Have A Problem...

What I hear is that you do not like your surgeon or their office. Why not try calling another doctor. Maybe your PCP or go to another surgeons office. In my area there are about 10 docs that do the surgery and I made sure I was picking the right one for me. Don't be scared of calling for help - your life could be on the line. There could be so many reasons medically why you are having these issues. Do you want to play with you life before you have had a chance to live it. don't let the doctors office speak to you like that. We all trip and stumble during this time. The doctor office should be there to support you and guide you like a parent during this life changing operation.

    Gathering Supplies

All I can say is my taste buds did change. Things I really liked before the surgery made me nauseated. Don't buy too much because then you have alot left over.

    What You Need Pre-Op

I bought sippy cups. It makes it easy to drink and you can keep track of your intake. I also felt like wow I have had 3 cups this morning Hospital Chapstick Robe House shoes - they will make you walk after surgery At home Vitamins - liquid is best, but I found that chewables worked great My doc said the first week after surgery he was more concerned about my Fluid intake and if I did not feel like shakes or Protein that was ok. Always follow your doctors orders. I also love my pedialite frozen pops.

    I Have A Problem...

I think you should talk to your doctor. You could have a medical issue that is preventing you from eating normally. As for the purging - was this something you have done before the surgeries? Either way go speak to someone about it. There might been hidden reason behind all of it that is easy to fix. Have you ever thought that you are setting yourself up for failure for a reason? My advise is to do some soul searching and reach out to medical professionals. That is what they are there for.

    Tx Metroplex Surgeon

I am in the metroplex. I interviewed two surgeons. Baylor grapevine and dr barker. My third appointment was with dr kim, but I cancelled that after Dr barker. My reason for going with dr barker were the following. He wanted me to decrease some medication which was in agreement with my regular doctor. He had great bedside manor and spoke to me at length and answered all my questions. He is also easy on the eyes!!! Dr Thompson is his after care doctor and he is wonderful. Very personable and his wife has been through the surgery. Please shop around and find the right doctor for you. I would love to join a local group in the metroplex!!

    Spreading The Word

I went with dr wade barker. I interviewed Baylor grapevine and decided they were not right for me. Dr barkers phone staff have some issues, but the docs are great. I had to call the after hours phone and dr barker called me back with in five minutes. Dr Thompson is the after care doc and he is WONDERFUL. I have heard negative things about dr Kim.

    Spreading The Word

I looked at Baylor in grapevine and dr wade barker. I went with dr barker. I have heard negative things about dr Kim. Dr barkers officer staff can be a little frustrating, but the team of doctors is great. I had to call their after hours phone and it was dr barker that called me back. Dr Thompson is the aftercare doctor and he is wonderful .

    Uti

I have had 3 UTI since surgery. My obgyn said it is normal because of our decreased water intake and we are getting rid of keytones. She gave me pills to take three times a week to help things out.

    Pre-Op And Scared

I think it is natural to feel this way. This is life changing surgery. It also takes a real commitment. I too thought about this for a decade and finally had my that's it moment from then on I felt great about the decision. I interviewed two surgeons and talked in detail with hubby and family. Remember you are in control of this and if you are not 100% comfortable with your surgeon look for someone else. You will be seeing this doctor for the rest of your life and you need to be comfortable with their abilities and bedside manner. Do research and make sure you are informed and ready and everything will be just fine. If there is one thing I tell people is this is not an easy fix. It is a struggle mentally and physically especially the first few months. Once you are able to get in control of things it is an easy way to live in my experience. You are like a new baby trying to learn to eat all over again, and it is worth all the hard work you put in to it!! My surgery was done 6/5 I have lost 70lbs and dropped 5 pant sizes! I feel sexy and great!
  17. My hubby said one of the things he was looking forward to was carrying me over the threshold when we get our first house in February.

    Heavier Than I Look!

I was the opposite. I have had big boobs all my life and I was hoping for a mutual agreement of parting ways. So far I have not lost cup size. I am ready to fit into normal shirt sizes.

    Isitnormal.

Yes it is normal - very normal. Just try to keep positive and remember sometimes a "good cry" helps! I finally felt better once I let it out and had a good boo hoo session. Remember we are all here to help you through this and also talk to your doctor they have heard it all!

    Heavier Than I Look!

It also depends on how much muscle you have. Muscle weighs more than fat. I was 256 at 5'2, but most people would hce said I weighed about 200. I have lost alot of muscle and as an athlete that is bad, but part of this process. The great thing is that muscle you can regain an it will reshape your body. Remember we are all very different!
