Hydration reminder app?
music1618 replied to lilmickey78's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I usually stop somewhere and get a large ice tea or water and know I have to drink it all. Sonic is great for that. You can get a large water for like 50. -
My look Into a sport you enjoy. Kickboxing, swimming, Zumba, golf. I play soccer and it does not feel like exercise because I enjoy doing it.

Remember you may not be losing lbs, but I bet you are losing Inches. Stay strong and the lbs will come off. I have been stalled weight wise for about a month, but today I had to notch my belt tighter. So I may not be losing weight, but know the inches are coming off.

Scared! RNY surgery on Monday 12/10.
music1618 replied to MyTimeToLose's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was fine with having the surgery, but my has band was scared to death. The day of the surgery he threw up several times that morning. Just relax and take deep breathes. I will tell you this your first few months are tough, and you need to remember your boys during that time. You did this so you could be healthier to be with them. -
RNY on Monday, 12/10, Scared!
music1618 replied to MyTimeToLose's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was not worried about the surgery, but my husband was deathly afraid of it. In fact the day of my surgery he threw up several times due to the fear. Just keep in mind your goal. I will be honest with you the first few months are hard months, but they pass and are a distant memory now. Stay strong and find a picture of your heaviest weight and keep it near you. When it is a hard day pull that out!!! We are here if you need anything -
My job is physical - animal control officer. I also play soccer two times a week!

My weight loss has leveled off, but inches are still coming off. Remember muscle weighs more, and you might be retaining water. Those are the two big reasons I have stalled lbs wise, but keep losing inches. Don't get hung up on numbers - relax and it will come off! -

I can't stress eat, but I need something
music1618 replied to Lisa Collom's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Lisa, Sorry to hear about your grandma. Have you tried exercise? It will get your heart pumping and will allow you to channel your energy. My stress relief is playing soccer. Maybe check into a kick boxing class or some other class that interests you. When you start feeling the urge to stress eat try to imagine the new you. People say Yoga is a stress reliever, but I recently read a book that put it best to me - If God meant for our legs to be over our necks he would have made us that way. Find a hobby that you can do when you have that urge to eat. Hang in there and remember we are always here for you! -
I don't take the shakes. I got horribly sick off of some and could never find something that I liked the taste and did not get sick on. It does not seem to matter what I eat I always have diahrrea.
-
Well the diahrrea is there and has been there for months. I have horrible horrible smelling gas and now my stomach hurts before I eat and after eat.
-
I am really tired of this. I have had it since surgery and kept hoping it would fade away. I had my gallbladder removed just 3 weeks ago and the smell is worse. The loose stools has become my new normal, but that two has a foul smell. Besides taking gasx ( as it can make things hurt some) what can I do to get rid of the smell or looseness.

Wedding Dress....
music1618 replied to NicoleL1016's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had my dress custom made. It was cheaper than buying at retail and having it altered. I went to a bridal show and they have dress makers there. The woman I found was wonderful. My dress is 100% original and fit perfectly. A dress maker can start with your design now and make the dress when you are at a more stable weight. Congrats and good luck! -
I have constant diahrrea, and have since the surgery. I wish I could give you helpful tips, but I rely on over the counter medication.

I understand they do not get it. My husband does not get it, but he realized this was important to me and supported me by not bringing in things that would tempt me. Please speak to them again. Come from the angle of you may not understand it, but as my love ones and family this is what I need right now. Then lay out what you need from them. I am 5 months post op and I could not have come this far without the support of my husband. I do to want to scare you, but many people wind up divorced after surgery because they realize that their spouse was not supportive. Maybe seeing a counselor with them will help. You do not have to understand weight issues to offer support! -
When it comes to pain and something not feeling right ALWAYS call your doc.

Forcing Myself To Eat
music1618 replied to Amandabythepound's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It will pass. You are learning how your new body is. Things that make you sick now will eventually go down ok, but it will take some time. Make sure you keep drinking fluid. Call the doctor office as well. I got anti-nausea med to help me through that time. -
Surgery Thursday ! Ahhhhhh!
music1618 replied to roxyraquel's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Sounds like it could be the gallbladder. I knew because I saw my hubby go through it years ago. Milk based products will make it worse. Get in to see the doc! -
I am sitting at the texas state fair and notice people walking around that would benefit from RNY. Now that I have gone through this I feel like going up to people and spreading the word of RNY. I know I would have gotten upset if someone had said anything to me, but my entire outlook on life has changed. Has anyone had this feeling? Did you actually go up to people?

All normal. Grab a box of tissues and have a good boohoo session! It does wonders!

My Live In Mother In Law Works At Great American Cookie Co
music1618 replied to jodimc's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I think it is time for a come to Jesus meeting as they say. When I started my journey my husband and I had a long talk about sweets. I always felt when I was succeeding in my diets he would bring home some sweets and then say well just have self control and leave them alone. Hubby has never had weight issues. I was about one month post op and he brought home a chocolate pie. I would typically keep things bottled up with something like this, but we sat down and I said this is what I am talking about. It finally hit home and we had a talk about what sweets he could bring home. I hate coconut and he loves it. So he brought home coconut pies. I tell you that story because in order to be successful you must have the support of family. There will be a time when she can bring those cookies home again, and you will not want them, or can tolerate a small little bit and be satisfied. However right now you need support during this transition period. Stand up for choosing to be healthy and happy! You deserve it!!!! -
I have been able to drink wine, but make sure the first time you try it you are with people you trust. It will hit you faster! Do not drive after you drink!! I had a Cosmo for my birthday on Saturday and I got a pain in my stomach. I think it was the type of vodka they used.

That is normal feeling and it will pass. Just make sure you are getting your water intake everyday.
