    Water & Protein!

No I am able to drink more at one time. The tiny sips is why I could not handle protein shakes. The first taste and I did not want any more of it. It was in January that I found something I could tolerate. With water I never had too much problem with water except that I could not drink a lot of it at once. I always felt dried out. That got much better as I was able to tolerate a little more as the months went by. I will say that water has been the easiest thing to throw up. I have done it a few times.

I was able to play soccer 6 weeks after, but my first few games back were really tough on me.

    Water & Protein!

I am 8 months post op and I am just now hitting my protein goals. I could not stand the protein drinks. I have found some that gives me 30 grams with only 4 oz of fluid. I can choke it down in one gulp. If I have to go back for a second taste I have a hard time.

    Constantly nauseated

What everyone is feeling is completely normal. I am 8 months out and for my first 2 months I was miserable and hated life. IT DOES GET BETTER! I promise. Remember this is worth it. Make sure you talk to your doctor and tell them what is going on. I waited and suffered in silence which was wrong. My doc said as we lose the weight the fat cells release hormones which make you feel nauseated.

    Constantly nauseated

I stayed nauseated for about 2-3 months. Then one day I woke up and my body said ok we are done with that. I tried zofran and it did not work. My doc gave me the scapolimean patch and phenergan and I took the phenergan about 30 min before I ate and it was a little better.

    Calcium citrate

I take something called new life bariatric vitamin powder. It has every vitamin we need. I add it to my protein shake and I am done with vitamins for the day and no pill swallowing.

    So excited to exercise

This is gentle yoga and is made for people with disabilities. Trust me you will not be in any weird positions. Most of it is done while sitting in a chair.
  13. This surgery has changed my life so much. I am close to getting of my prednisone for my RA. It was the reason I gained so much weight and I will be glad to get rid of it. I am making major life changes as well. I have decided to become a police officer and I am working hard to gain muscle and tone up. My confidence is so high now. It is flattering to have men hit on me and even better when I try on smaller and smaller sizes. However one if the best things is that my husband and I are like newlyweds. He can not keep his hands off if me. It has rekindled a deep love and passion for my husband and our marriage.

    So excited to exercise

Check into gentle yoga. The ms foundation pays for it, but you need to find a studio that participates in the program.
  16. It is called FBX by muscle max. It is supposed to aid in my workouts and gives me energy.

    Food relationships

Check with your doc as all are different, but French onion soup should be fine post op. cheese has good Protein values.
  18. I try to stick to the following schedule. Protein shake 6:00am Energy drink 7:30 Snack - Peanut Butter crackers 9:00 lunch 11:00 Snack - peanut butter crackers 2:30 dinner 5:00 If needed Protein Shake in the evening. If I am strength training I add in another shake at 4:00 am. I can not always stick with this schedule, but I feel better when I do.
  19. I am 7 months post op and I am just now hitting my protein goals everyday. The thought of a protein shake made me run for the bathroom. Something changed between 6-7 months and I was able to tolerate them. Granted I still stand over my sink and say ok I can do this it is only 4oz of liquid. Hang in there and do the best you can!

Well I have very very smelly has. I have discovered my husband loves me deeper than I thought. Because only someone that loves you would stick around for that. I had diahrrea for 6 months straight. I just discovered if I take my b12 my BMs are normal. Hope this helps

    Frustrated

My advise is to sit down and talk with them about this. For example : before surgery my hubby (who has always been skinny) and I talked about the major life changes about to occur. I opened up to him for the first time about my weight and thing that had happened when I was doing really good on a diet he would come home with sweets. He always said you have to have the will power to say no to things. I always felt like he was sabotaging me and my efforts. He said he was sorry and we talked about how after the surgery things would be different. I would not be able to eat those things and did not want the temptation. About 1 month post op my husband who had been a rock and helped me with everything came home from the store with a chocolate cream pie. He very proudly said I bought this for you. It is soft and creamy so it will be easy on your tummy. I got upset and went into my room. I normally would let that fester and fester before saying something, but not this time. This was too important! I went to him and said remember we talked about you sabotaging me. I said that is what that pie represents, but this time if I eat that I throw up. It was like a light bulb went off in his head. We then talked about how he still wanted to eat sweets at night, and we came to a compromise about what he could bring in the house. My point to the story is you must talk to your family. They may not understand how you are feeling. It needs to be a calm discussion and not pointing fingers or yelling, but simply you said you would support me and the foods that are here are not supporting me. However be ready for a compromise. Everyone is right we choose the surgery not them. For my hubby and I - we agreed to coconut cream pie for him to eat because I hate the taste of coconut. There are solutions out there, but you have to be ready to make them work.

    Nuasea?

I was a lot like you. I could count on my hands the times I had thrown up in my life prior to surgery. However surgery changed everything. I have thrown up a lot and have had lots of nausea. My biggest mistake is that I did not talk to my doctor about it. When he found out he got me on meds to make it better and then things turned around for me. In the last 3 months I have only thrown up 2 times and both were my fault. I ate too fast and did not chew enough. I will say the fears I had about the nausea and throwing up were a lot worse in my head when I think back, but I will not lie to you I was miserable for a while.
  23. That is head hunger and it will pass.

    Need advice

I had this, but it was not a stricture for me. Please call your doc so you can discuss with them. I just had a tough time with food in the beginning.
