I have told her - well I am happy. Or there is the no I am not losing too much I am getting happy. Or no I am finally healthy body weight. I think I even said once well too bad I guess I am too skinny then. -
As long as your incisions are covered you can shower. As for work I started a new job a week later. Thankfully we had training for three weeks. The only thing that bothered me was the pants running the incisions.

Marriage after surgery
music1618 replied to Jackie0384's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Jackie, I have been married 10 years next month and before the surgery we talk and talk about things. I will say we have had a few rocky times since then. Like when he brought home a chocolate cream pie thinking I could eat it. I am 9 months post op and for the most part we are like newlyweds again. I would ask you is your husband overweight? John was trying to get in better health and my surgery just lined up with that and we were able to find another common bond. I think most couple grow apart because one wants a happy healthy lifestyle and the other is accepting of the unhealthy life style. Now I will say the men hitting on me has been a nice ego boost and I something my husband has never had to deal with. We are working through a lot of things. It is all about communication communication communication. Your wants, dreams, fears need to be discussed on both side. -
Any awesome gadgets we rny peeps need?

Someone suggested to me sippie cups for kids. You can measure easily and helps get your fluids in. When you are done with one you feel like you have accomplished something! -
So I discovered this weekend that my foster dog is toy/treat aggressive. He bit me on the hand and the doc gave me antibiotics. He gave me doxycycline an amoxicillin. About 20 Mounties after taking them I experienced what I would consider dumping. My pouch hurt so much and I broke out in a cold sweat. Has anyone had this issue with these two drugs?

I am 9 months post op and wondering at what point people got plastic surgery. My breasts look like water balloons and I am sure I could get down two sizes for the skin in my stomach. Not attractive at all.

I have two pieces of advice. First interview the other surgeons. I went to two in my area. I thought for sure I would be going with the First doc after my appointment with him, but he required more steps then my insurance did. He also did not line up with medication recommendations that my pcp. When I went to the second doc it was perfect. He spent time with me and I knew he was the one. This is a major life changing process - if you have doubts now it will cause you a lot of stress. Secondly - in Texas there is a website you can search every doc and find out what lawsuits or disabling they have received from the board. Check for that with your state. The amount of surgeries he has done is pretty low in my opinion.

I have been meaning to do it the last few weeks, but I wanted to make sure I looked good. I cut and colored my hair yesterday and figured no time like the present!

Over 40 grams of protein shake
music1618 replied to kmarcelle's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hate to tell you this but my doc says you only absorb about 30 grams at once with shakes. It is different with whole food proteins. -
Remember muscle weighs more than fat. If you are now working out you are building muscle.

2mo post op stalled? Help!
music1618 replied to sapperwife26's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You are at a stall, but don't panic! I lost the most inches during stalls. As for the steroids I would consider myself an expert. They are the reason I had the surgery. I have rheumatoid arthritis and have been on them for 6 years. My dosage has decreased since the surgery. I was on 20mg a day and I am down to 2.5 a day. A shot of steroids will not make you gain weight. You have the potential to gain some if they put you Ina dosage pack, but you gain the weight because you are hungry on steroids. Before the surgery I would wake up at 3 in the morning and felt like I had never eaten. When in fact I had eaten just before bed. With the surgery I am never hungry, and I don't snack unless I am hungry. So take a deep breath and know that the stall will break and this is all part of the process. A few months from now you will read a post like this and smile knowing that you got through it an offer the new person words of encouragement. As for you stress find something to help relieve that stress as stress can cause so many problems on our bodies. -
Not doing to well!
music1618 replied to his_only_mrs's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Should have been Doc not soc -
I finally reached mine last week. In fact I reached my goal weight of 150 ( and then passed it), and 100 lbs lost. I am currently at 146 which puts me at 110 lost. I am 10 months out! I am amazed everyday that this is the new me!

Not doing to well!
music1618 replied to his_only_mrs's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My soc said during the times of stalls on the scale is when we lose the most inches. I found him to be completely right on that. When I hit long periods of stalls I always increased my protein intake and it usually will snap the stall. Try not to get to hung up on the scale numbers. Muscle does weigh more than fat and this is a marathon not a sprint for weight loss! -
Crying over yesterdays diapers so to speak

Well also remember shopping is so much more fun now. It is fun to walk past the limited women's department and on to the regular department. No more frumpy grandma clothes. I usually think to myself as I past the women's department - I never have to shop there again! I have found it exciting to try on new sizes. Instead of trying on the small size and facing the fact that you can not breathe and need the bigger size. This is the opposite. Last week I tried on a size 8 and to my amazement it was too big. Hello size 6 it is nice to meet you! I have also found that I really like bright colors now. I never did before and when I look in my closet now there are bright reds, pinks, blues, and yellows. -
Hello! New here and very nervous.

Welcome and congrats on your new life. As for the psychological exam it is easy. Just answer the questions honestly and don't try to outsmart it. -

I threw away a lot, but those things that have special memories I held on to. I will not throw away any of my Rod Stewart concert shirts. I may not be able to wear them they are my favorite. I have seen some people take old hurts like that and make quilts and I have thought of doing that. As for the items that are nice looking - you can replace those with nice clothes in a smaller size!! -
