Keep your chins up everyone. Every thing will fall into place and the weight and inches will fall off. I would encourage you to stop stepping on the scale. The scale can be your worst enemy during a stall. Find another way to measure your success. Stay focused on your plan and remember that we did not gain weight over night and our bodies will not lose it over night. Please don't compare yourself to others because we are all so different. It will just cause you more stress. For those still under the 3 months mark - give your bodies a chance to heal and catch up to all the changes. We have just completely messed with our bodies. You could be in starvation mode and your body is throwing a temper tantrum. It wants to hold onto everything you put into it. It believes you are never going to eat again. Finally Get in your Protein, Water and exercise. Stay positive and try not to stress out as it will only make your body madder at you. My final thought on this - instead of making your goals all about the numbers and scale think of a new goal. Write on a piece of paper the non scale victories you want and when you reach them scratch it off. For example here were a few of my goals: Play soccer without pain Get into the police academy Fit into a size 16 Run a 5k As I meet some goals I add new ones. You are changing everyday and the journey will be very rewarding and you will learn so much about your self. Please stay positive and reach for your dreams! They are possible!

Question about getting sick 6mos out
music1618 replied to anned38's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am 11 months out and vomit every once in a while. I can't not find a reason as to why I get sick. One of my theories is that my pouch has PMS about once a month. -

Can't get over the mental hunger
music1618 replied to anm1063's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have found that after taking the one bite it is not as satisfying as I thought it would be. However there are some foods where I try that theory out and I end up eating more than one bite. The great thing about this is that you physically can not eat what we use to. -
That is my plan. A reduction and lift. I have carried these heavy things long enough! Hubby has had 13 years to play with then and I will not be having a child. Time to downsize!

We are similar in size and starting weight. My boobs were a 42F. They are currently a 34D, but they look like Water balloons. I am waiting to have plastic surgery to put them in the right spot.

I am thinking about running my first 5K at the end of this year. I feel like it is finally something I can do.

Where are all the oldies!?
music1618 replied to Tammy483's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I am about 11 months out. Had surgery June 5, 2012. I started at 256 and I weigh 140 today. My RA meds have been cut way down and I love fitting into a size 2. This soccer season i played 5 nights a week on 6 teams. i am planning on trying out for the police academy next month. Still working on gaining muscle at this point, but a broken ankle is making that hard. The hardest thing to me is staying on track with protein, and vitamins. It seems when I get kicked off track it can be so hard to pull myself up and get back on the right path. Breaking my ankle through me off of my routine and therefore I have been slacking off. -
I wear it because it makes me feel sexy, but then hubby always helps that out by saying the right thing. This weekend I actually got to be a dirty school girl and hubby loved every minute of it. Nothing gets the fire going for a woman than her husband only being able to say Wow over and over.

Hang in there everyone. Make sure you are in contact with your doctor about the nausea. They are there to help you. It does get better. I was sick for about 3 months. I can now eat anything I want and have lost 116. You just have to make it through the storm before you can see the rainbow!
-
Just remember head hunger is a strong advosary. It will play so many tricks on you. I thought hey I got this liquid thing down I think I can advance. I have not been sick or had nausea I got this! Oh boy was I wrong. The eggs hit my stomach and my pouch said you damn fool I will show you. About two weeks later I thought to my self man I really really want some turkey. I was on the puréed portion and thought well if I chew this enough I will be good. Same thing happened.

Surgeon scared me. Help!
music1618 replied to pookybear's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Don't - you are doing great. 53 pounds was never possible in 3 months before the surgery. Rather than feeling down about this - go have a Rocky moment and say I am going to prove that know it all doctor wrong. Reach for your goals and don't let someone tear them down!!! -
The hunger you are experiencing is called head hunger. You are not actually hungry. The Brain has not caught to the surgery. Not sure what stage you are on, but my surgeon said the first couple of week staying hydrated was most important. Don't advance too quickly as you will find foods you will not eat again. Eggs are not fun coming up - that is the food I advanced too quickly on.

Surgeon scared me. Help!
music1618 replied to pookybear's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have never heard that. I can not remember what i had lost at three months, but fairly certain I was around where you are. I have lost 116. I am a size 2. Just calm down and make it your mission to prove him wrong. My doc said that losing 70lbs I was considered a success and I have surpassed that! -
Well who says the decision has to be made ASAP. Wait a few years and if the time is ever right you will know it.

How we should have kids. When I say I don't really like kids they try to convince me that it is different when it is your own kids. They say this as their child is running around wild and screaming. My husband and I made the decision not to bring a child into this world. We have several reasons. I have a rheumatoid arthritis and it has been passed down through the generations. Each time getting stronger. I do not want two things to happen. 1. They get this disease 2. I have to tell my child I can't play with you or help with homework or spend quality time with you because I hurt and feel so bad. The last reason is that hubby and I did not agree on how to raise the kids. He would be stricter than I thought he should and I would be too relaxed for him. Not fair for the child when parents are arguing over punishment. I realized years ago that I was actually the smart one of the baby conversation. I did what people really should do before bringing a life into this world. Think about what is right for everyone involved - including the baby which has NO say in it. It should NEVER be done because society or friends think you should. They do not pay the bills and they will not be caring for that child during the good and bad times. My parents always knew they would only have 1 child. Heck my dad jokes with me and says the only reason they had me was the prove they could. Do what is right for you and your family!!!!
-
Oh and if it helps - my hubby and I made the decision not to have kids at all. You think people criticize you try telling people you don't want kids at all.

I am an only child, and there are great perks to be an only child. However as I get older and my parents health begins to fade. I am reminded that it will be my sole responsibility to take care of them. It is really the only down side to being an only child. Although people always assuming you got everything you ever wanted is just not true. We tend to be more mature and hang out with older people because of it.

Arthritis ... What do you take?

It is all normal. My suggestion is to go have a good cry and you will feel better. Your body is releasing all the nasty hormones in your fat cells and it is like PMS X 100.

Lost 30 lbs but didnt go down a size? Extra skin question
music1618 replied to Jenny's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Get into the gym as soon as you can. It will help with the extra skin. You can fill the flab with muscle. -
Time is what you need to get out if your stall. Give you body a break. You just messed with everything it has ever known. It believes you are starving to death and that the crops and hunters are having a bad month. See many many years ago people would store fat to help them through lean times. Our body's being the amazing vessels they are would go into starvation mode. It would hang onto everything. Just give it a chance to stop throwing a temper tantrum and you will start losing again. If you are further out tips to break a stall are increase Protein, Water, and exercise. Stalls will happen and when they do you lose inches. I have always felt like the inches were more important than a silly number. I have gotten to the point that I want gain muscle weight. My final thought on this That in several months when you have done the stall dance several times someone will post panicked about their first stall. You will smile and remember that it is part of the process and tell them to relax the journey is just beginning.

Ok so ask your self this question. Don't you alread have a body image issue? Also would you rather lose 100 pounds and have 20 extra that you need surgery to take care of.. Everyone is different. Last month I was convinced that I need the surgery I my stomach area and well my body still had some surprise and it still loosing inches. Her I the gym a soon as you can and take up a sport. May train for a marathon.

Drinking and eating
music1618 replied to lainafoust's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have always drank before, during and after my meals since the surgery. Not sure if it has affected me or not. -
Do you mean hang up as far as not having the surgery?
