  1. I am 13 months post op and have had diarrhea since my surgery. Today I had a colonoscopy and endoscopy to check out what is going on. My doc said the following: 1. My pouch is really really small. 2. It does not really resemble a pouch it is closer to a tube - it goes from my esophagus pouch right to my small intestine. 3. He believes since it is so small that as soon as I eat my food is going straight to the small intestine without being absorb properly. 4 as a result of that he believes I am constantly dumping. Now this was a GI doc and not my surgeon. I have not talked with my surgeon yet. His diagnosis seems right to me. I don't have a feeling of fullness for very long, and seem to be hungry quickly sometimes. I'm not sure what foods I really need to avoid as I did not have to go through food classes prior to surgery. Please help!

    do you drink milk?

I do the lactose free 2%milk.
  3. Well I have a couple questions for you. Do you joints ache? Do you have a sore throat? Does you family have a history of arthritis? Do you have really good days of no pain or fatigue followed by a sore throat and the pain? Are you have trouble concentrating on things? Have you become forgetful? Answer those question and I will give you my opinion.

    Another sex issue. *sigh*

My suggestion is to make it a special night. Go get a sexy slutty lingerie and maybe some massage oil, candles - you get the idea! Just make it a fun night. I would also suggest talking to your boyfriend and explain to him your fears. If he truly loves you he will help you come to grips with it and conquer your fears. Trust me it is a great thing to conquer!!!????
  5. I have not talked to my surgeon yet and I could not have stretched it as this has been going on since right after my surgery. Plus my GI doc said everything looked normal just really really small pouch.
  6. That is really up to your doctor and your body. I went back to playing soccer 8 weeks after surgery. It was a little early, but it felt so good to play again!
  7. I have taken away dairy in my diet, but no change. I also tried fiber pills and no change. What was working for a little while was taking my b12 sublingual. As long as I took that I was regular, but that does not work any more. GI doc gave me meds that are helping, but I really want to get off meds if I can.

  10. I am wondering if anyone has had a colonoscopy since rny. I have one on Thursday and have the bowl prep tomorrow. I have a lot of liquid to drink in a few hours and worried about getting it all down. Docs office said do the best I can.
  11. My mom was supportive, but would ask questions to make me think hard about my decision. She finally asked why now. I had been thinking about it for years and she wanted to know why had I decided I was ready for it. It was a simple answer. I was ready because I could no longer clean personal areas in the shower. That was my breaking point. From then on she stopped asking questions. As for telling other people - I have been open and honest about my surgery. I wanted to spread the good news - I made a choice to live not die miserable. However it is a very personal choice - tell or don't tell.
  12. From what I understand as we loose weight our fat cells release hormones. More hormones cause us to be a lot more fertile!!

Hi I am 37 years old

Congrats and good luck on the upcoming surgery!! As for your question I would really ask you doc or nut. You will soon figure out that all docs have different plans and restrictions. For my liquid diet I drank lactose free milk with carnation instant breakfast.

    advice?

Here are my suggestions You could also get a wii fit board. They have games that give you a good workout. Or try yoga. It will give you a good stretch and help you get your muscles loose. There is also something called gentle yoga or chair yoga. I have been to a few of those classes and it is great. Water aerobics is also a good workout and gentle on your joints.

    Lower Abdominal Pain

Just keep in mind that our ovaries and hormones are on hyper active mode. As you loose the weight the hormones are released. That is why so many ladies become pregnant after surgery. Don't rule out your ovaries.

    I want some pizza

Let me put it this way - you will regret it and your body will be so mad at you. I ate eggs to early and 13 months later I am just now able to really eat then now. The few minutes of joy will be hours of agony.
