You will need to give your body a chance to heal. The last thing you want to do is pull out internal stitches because you began working out too fast. I was very specific when I spoke to my doctor and asked him when can I play soccer again. I was told 8 weeks and at exactly 8 weeks I played indoor soccer. Let me tell you it was very very tough. Mainly because I could not seem to drink enough water to feel hydrated. I found that I needed to suck on ice cubes in order to get the cotton mouth to be tolerable.

muscle weighs more that fat myth
music1618 replied to colorado's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I think I really demonstrate this theory. I weigh 139 to 140 for the past few months. I am weight training at this time to build up my muscles. I currently wear a size 2 - 6 depends on the designer and a small to medium top. When people look at me the tell me I look healthy and they are amazed that I weigh what I do. Most people wearing a size 2 jeans do not weigh 140. I feel myself losing inches, but the scale does not move. -
Your body is trying to tell you something. It needs sleep to heal. You just had major surgery. Your body will get stronger - just give it time to heal!

Emotional eating and dealing with stress
music1618 replied to tinkycheeks's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I try to do something active. My biggest stress reliever is playing soccer. I play two nights a week. My other stress reliever is biting my nails. I have been doing it since I was a little girl and just can not stop. -

It really depends on your body type. I am at 140 and can wear a size 2 in some pants. I can wear med and smalls in shirts.

I am running in the jingle bell run. It is to support arthritis foundation. I have RA so it will mean so much to me to be able to run the race this year. With my blue hat on to symbolize I have arthritis. I have been running a mile for several weeks and I am ready to add to it. I can do a mile in 10.6 right now.

Your doc should have an after hours phone number. Give then a call.

Well on the fish oil issue you can break those open and spread it on food. That la what I do for my dogs. My remedy has been good ole hard work in the gym. It has taken care of a lot of loose skin. It has not taken care of my boobs however. Although I am fairly certain egg whites and fish oil can not help them either! Only a surgeon or support bras can help them. They have officially gone south for the winter and it is still summer here in Texas!

I am hoping to run one in December.

I would check with your doc before taking the pill just to be safe.

If I am reading your posts correct the reason you vomit is so that you have control. If that is the case there are other ways to take control. The one I use and it is working is to log my food. I know what I am putting in my body everyday. Before I started logging I had no idea, and a quick snack of sweets was common. Now that I log I challenge myself to reach a goal everyday. Sometimes I focus on protein and sometimes I focus on calories, but I make sure to stay focused and thus gain control

Be careful with Ambein cr. I had bad side effects from it. It made me very aggressive in bed, but I would not remember much of it. I would have just flashes of what had happened. My husband said it was really strange for him, because I was not myself at all. Then I would not remember it, and I think that hurt his feeling some. -

Acheived a goal I did not even consider
music1618 posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was able to put my grandmothers ring on my ring finger today with no problem. It never occurred to me to want it as a goal, but I saw the ring today and tried it on. My wedding ring was stolen 4 months ago and this is a perfect replacement for now. Although I did not know my grandmother all my life when I met her 10 years ago it was like my heart was complete. I strive to be the type of woman she was. Loving to everyone and one of the strongest women I know. I miss her so much, but can feel her close to me as a guardian angel! -
stopped loosing already!

Thanks - when I finally figured out that this journey is more mental than physical I was able to relax. My favorite saying is the serenity prayer and it fits with rny. Accept the things I can not change Courage to change the things I can And the Wisdom to know the difference -
Oh my that sounds like an interesting thing to make.

As a vet on this site your post is probably the most common post on here. Newbies usually freak out on their first stall. It is very normal to freak out when your body stops. You start doubting everything. Your hormones are out of whack due to the weight loss and you brain is desperately trying to figure out what the hell you have done. It is laws of nature - you did not waste your money and you will lose the weight. Everyone is different and will lose differently - different times and amounts. You quickly learn the fine art of patience during this journey. The facts are your body is still recovering from major surgery. Your body is in what is called starvation mode. It believes you are in the lean winter months of our ancestors and it must hold onto everything you put in it. You brain is currently throwing a temper tantrum and is so pissed off and confused. It went from eating hamburgers, pizza and sweets to now only drinking a few oz every hour and protein shakes. It would piss anyone off. Instead of getting upset for not losing weight the past five days - Celebrate the positives. You have lost 16 pounds in two weeks!!!! That is great weight loss and I know there are several people on the site that are jealous of your loss. Try not to step in the scale for a few days. Find another way to measure your success. I wrote out goals for myself and worked to achieve them rather than looking at numbers on a silly little machine. Finally I will say this. You will hit many many more stalls during this journey. During most stalls you lose inches so your body is still losing during your stalls. When you hit your stalls take a deep breath and don't stress. Also in several months you will get on here and read a post just like the one you wrote today and you will smile knowing exactly what they are going through and also know it is temporary. Hang in there!!!!! -
I have seen it in my vitamin shop and I saw it yesterday at a store called market. You might try health food stores.
