Yes it could be, but they should also know you are having a tough time and that meds are not working. Always communicate with your doctors office that is why we pay them.

You need to call and talk with your doctor about this.

4 months out down 102lbs! need suggestions!
music1618 replied to tpimpette1's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Try everything that is allowed by your docs plan. Try small bites at first and go from there. I would also say that things you did not like post op you may find you LOVE now. I was not big on Asian food pre op, but there was a time I felt like I could not get enough of it -
I started a new job one week post op. We had about a month of training days in a classroom. I had pain around my central incision but a little extra padding and that went away.

It is normal to feel that way. Try to figure out other ways to measure your loss. For example I measured my loss by how much of my toes I could see in the shower. My toes were non-existent before surgery and now I see my ankles. Also come up with a goal list. Things you want to achieve post op. When you reach a goal mark it off and think of another. Also remember the scale is just a silly machine with numbers and the real success is how you feel and gaining a healthy life!

Well calm down that is your first step!! Now let's look at this logically you gained 2lbs - so what!! Does it mean you have failed at post op living - NOPE Does it mean you are done losing weight - NOPE Does it mean you have done something wrong - NOPE More than likely this is either Water weight - or monthly visitor weight. However most people gain a little weight when you advance and add new foods. Our weight ebbs and flows during this journey. We gain, we lose, we stall. You will lose weight and eventually learn the great art of patience. Our bodies are on their own schedules and trust me they never match up with our minds schedule. As for things you can eat of purée stage. I had yogurt, Beans, mashed potatoes, cheese, Jello. You want to advance your diet so that you can get to eating normal foods. Check with your NUT and see if they have ideas. You mainly want to make sure when you swallow the food it is finely chewed up. Finally stay off the scale for a few days and you will be amazed that the silly number has gone back down. Good luck!!

Must haves for post op?

It was suggested to me to use sippy cups after surgery and they really helped. Instead of staring down a large glass of water I just had small glasses to drink and felt like I was really winning the water battle. -
Apprehensive About the Surgery

Since my surgery I have a new love of cooking. I began trying new recipes on my day off. I have also discovered I love to bake. My coworkers are very appreciative of the new love of baking. I make stuff and send it their way. -

Give your doc a call. It could be gallbladder. -
I doubt that you are done losing at 5.5 months. Sounds like you are at a stall. At this stage to help you out of your stall you need to change a few things. Examples: 1. Increase your protein 2. Change up your workout routine 3. Keep a food log and make sure you are eating appropriate things 4. Eliminate stress - if you find yourself in a stressful time our bodies will hold on to fat 5. Stay off the scale everyday.

Is there anyone out there that think they are too small.
music1618 replied to MinnesotaDreaming23's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
The amazing thing about our bodies is that it finds its happy medium weight. We lose the weight quickly and most of the time lose more than expected and then our bodies will bounce back up some. I have found that I am still losing inches, but not really weight. I have stabilized between 130 - 140, but I look a lot smaller than that. Someone asked me the other day if I weighed 90lbs. I am told all the time that I need to stop losing weight, and my response is that I am no longer losing weight but I am losing inches. We have no control over where our bodies choose to be. My goal weight was initially 150. I was happy being at 150, but my body seems to like 137. -

I have had a bladder infection that I'm taking medication for, but can't get rid of. My obgyn said it is common amoung bypass because of being dehydrated. Anyone else having this issue? I am drinking about 64 oz of water a day if not more. I only drink water. I have not had tea in weeks and have not had a soda in months. My rny was June 5th.

Yep our brains are crafty little things. Good news is that you are recognizing the tantrum now. It took me months to figure out what was going on.

Your stomach has not had a chance to heal completely. Your nerve endings that signal that full feeling are not fully functional yet. -
Just wanted to check in with everyone and see how logging was going. I have been resistant to it this week, not sure why. I have put it off until the evening and I am sure I have missed things. I am really trying to stay on track as this is such a valuable tool.

1month and week hard to drink liquids

Congrats in the weight loss!!! It is hard at the beginning to get all your water in. Keep in mind that your shakes count toward your 64oz of fluids. -
