It will. The first few months are the toughest. It does get better! It took me 6 months to be able to tolerate protein shakes and additives. It was like one day my body decided it was done pouting about the surgery and I was able to eat again.
-
I eat anything I want 15 months out. I have only truly ever dumped on ice cream. I can now eat ice cream! However with that it is all about personal control. Can I eat it yes - do I choose to eat it - that is the question.

Good - I have been worried about you dear. Please make sure you are staying hydrated and keep in good communication with your doc!

crying like a baby no support at all
music1618 replied to xiomara8868's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have good and bad news! Good news: you are 100% normal and everyone goes through this stage. I cried rivers during the first month. As we lose weight our bodies are releasing hormones. Those hormones can cause all the emotions of a puberty! It does get better! Bad news: It may get a little worse before it gets better. Your first few months can be torture for your brain. It wants things so badly. Since you are a mom think of your brain as a two year old. It wants food so bad and it will throw tantrums to get what it wants. However your stomach will dictate what you can and can not eat. This is all normal!!! As far as your partner not being supportive. Communication is the key in this process. Please sit down and talk to him. Tell him what you need. Explain to him your feelings, fears, anxieties and so on. -
Have you talked to your doctor yet? You were having problems getting things down and I worry something could be wrong internally. Really talk with your doctor!

Hi Jessica and welcome!!!! It sounds like you are ready to do this and make the commitment to a new life. This will be a long journey, but well worth it. I am 15 months post op and LOVE my new life! I have lost 130 pounds! I have few suggestions for you. Communicate with you husband. Any feelings, anxiety, fears and happiness talk to your husband. Many marriages fail during the journey and thankfully mine has gotten stronger. Communication is the key! Realize now that there will be stalls and low points in your journey. It does not mean you have failed or going to fail. It means you are normal. Finally celebrate the small joys in this journey! Set goals and have fun getting to know yourself. I have learned so much about myself. I learned I am stronger and am beginning to realize my dreams! Dreams I never thought were possible as a big girl! If you ever have questions send me a message!

Are you logging your foods? I am 15 months post op and I maintain a food log, exercise 5-6 times a week. However it is a struggle. We can eat most anything after a year and I have had bad times where I eat things I should not eat. Food logging helped me realize patterns in my snacking. Which ultimately helped me get control of it. I have also found it helps to set goals. When I am not working towards a goal I slack off. When I achieve my goal I ind something new.

Weight loss stopped
music1618 replied to Yennydayerman's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Everyone's body is different. Most people stall in the first three months. Their body has to catch up to all the changes. -
I use egg whites as my main protein spires for most days. I use double pasteurized egg white made to be put in drinks. I mix it with a power aid drink and turn a 0g drink into a 49g protein drink. It changes the texture a little, but I don't taste it. Each pump gives you 3.3g protein. I have learned not to shake you drink after adding the egg whites as it does create a foam. Since egg whites are a whole food protein the body absorbs it easier. They make a chocolate egg white and some people think it taste like chocolate milk.

How about some NSVs!?!?

Think about what you are saying. You feel like a failure - even though you have lost a lot of weight. Not sure how much but try turning your thinking around. The scale will move again, but the closer we are to goal the slower the weight loss. -
Feel free to ask me any questions you may have!

It is part of the stall process. I lost all my inches when I was not losing weight. It is like your body catches up to the weight loss. I am 15 months post op and people keep saying I am losing weight. I tell them no it is all inches. Personally inches are more rewarding - and more fun. When you lose inches you have a new excuse to go shopping. I bought a new dress today and felt like a million bucks! -

It is a normal part of the process. My Tate buds have changed a lot over the last 15 months and continue to change. I go through phases. I will want something and can't seem to get enough of it and then one day out of nowhere the thought of it makes me sick.
