I was a 42 F and mine are down to a size 34 DD. It is mainly from loose skin. The air was sort of let out of them. Which is good and bad - they are no longer heavy, but they hang to my stomach sometimes. God bless my husband - he loves them no matter what!

Oh and if you are having issues with protein shakes I know a great place locally that will let you try all of them first in the store before you buy!

Good morning from the DFW area! Who is your surgeon?

It could be a multitude of things. Give your doc a call to make sure everything is ok.

I went with bypass for several reasons. There is more long term data behind bypass. My doc thought I would have better results with it. I liked the idea of it being the final surgery. I liked the caloric malabsorption. As far as the other poster who said you can only eat 3 tablespoons of food at a time or the you can no longer have sugar or carbs. That Is not the case with me. I am 15 months post op and enjoy any food. The biggest difference is portions. I can eat everything I used to, the difference is if I choose to. We all need to have a chance to eat freely and with time you can after bypass. The trick is understanding this is a tool and you can misuse your tool.

I love all exercises now. I have recently loved running. My favorite song to run to is LOw by Flo-rider. Not sure why but when I hear that song I want to go for a run, and if I am running I want to run faster.

One thing that I always remember is my doctor talking about that we gravitate towards foods we can eat more. For example I can eat a lot of crackers. They sit easy in my pouch and digest easy, but I can only eat about 3 oz of steak and I feel stuffed. I tend to gravitate to the crackers because I can eat more. So i would test yourself and try something that used to make your pouch full quickly. I also second the food log suggestion. It really helps keep you accountable. I have not logged in about 3 weeks and need to start back up again. Sometimes it is hard to see your food choices in black and white.

It is normal and it will pass. I believe ketosis is the cause of the parched feeling. I felt like I could never get enough to drink. Try sucking on ice during the day. It will keep your mouth wet.

It also helps with saggy skin. I don't have much saggy skin and I believe it is because I started hitting the gym after my surgery. I used weights for my arms. The area I did not focus on was my stomach and that is where my saggy skin is.

Been down this road
music1618 replied to mgarrett1311's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
You and I started out very close to the same weight. I was 256 starting out and 175 was my doctor goal weight. He said he expected me to lose more, but at 175 he felt like the surgery was a success. When I hit 6 months I started to stall quite a few times. Then out of no where my body would start losing again. I stuck with my program and began increasing my protein intake. I am now 15 months post op and I weigh 132. The last 40 have been slow coming off, but they are gone. My loss in inches was slow coming off, but they are off. Stay strong and stick with your plan. -
first time im regretted having surgery
music1618 replied to mzshay35's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Nope you are normal and right on schedule!! I remember the day I regretted my surgery. My poor husband did the only thing he could think and that was to go buy me some Soup. I sat in my bedroom and cried and cried. Thinking to myself - what the hell did I do to my body. I just want a slice of pizza!!! Oh how I hated to hear - don't worry it gets better and easier - but everyone was right! It has gotten better and easier. I talked to my doctor and got meds to help with the nausea, and throwing up. It worked wonders. I know you are in touch with your doctor, and please continue to do that. I waited thinking this was part of the process - feeling sick and miserable! Hang in there - it gets better -
Came across an photo from 2012 the other day and had the opportunity last night to get my after photo. Not sure when the first photo was taken but I know it was 2012. I am 15 months post op and down 126 pounds.

Obsessing with the scale!
music1618 replied to JamieC1028's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I would like to add my two cents. At the end of the day the number that comes up on the scale is just that a number. Try to find other ways if measuring your success. I measured mine by how much of my feet I could see in the shower. When I started I could not see my feet. Today I see my ankles. Also find other goals. Write down a list of them and when you reach one cross it off and think of a new one. All dreams can come true, but you have to be patient and remember your body has a different schedule then your brain. -

I bought me a pair of knee high boots that looked sexy last year for a Christmas party. I never realized my calves were so big. The boots had no problem zipping up. I smile all the time too! Love it!! -

I have a couple questions first. Are you logging your food? How many calories are you getting in each day? -
I always tell people that if you are going to drink make sure you are with people you trust. It goes to our heads much quicker than before. However I will say being the only sober one is actually a lot of fun. You are able to see what drinking does to people and then make fun of them!

5 DAYS POST OP AND STARVING
music1618 replied to ginalariccia81's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
More than likely you are experiencing head hunger. As for not feeling full that is due to your nerve endings healing. It will take a few months for your nerve endings to completely heal. It is important that you measure and only eat what your doctor says you can. That goes for the type of food and the quantity. -
POST-OP HUNGER IN MY HEAD
music1618 replied to bcsilverstar's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yep you are 100% normal. Your next stage will more than likely be the surge of hormones. That stage is fun - you still can't really eat and now your hormones are going nuts! So you end up crying and then crying a little more. Then your next stage is your first stall. During that stage remember you are normal and you will start losing again. Finally you start to feel better and better everyday. It is a journey, and one I am thankful I have gone through. Stick with it and ask questions on this site. Remember we have all been through or going through it at that time. I am 15 months post op and can't believe how much my life has changed. -

Also keep in mind everyone dumps on different foods. It is not all about the sugars or carbs. Some people have a dip in blood sugar that cause them to dump.
