Getting Tired Of...
Sparklette replied to zeroette's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My surgeon said the same thing. I try to get as much as I can in, then if it isn't enough come night time I have half of a Protein Bar. Dairy products and cheese are good sources of protein, Beans, soy products. I'm really tired of meat also. -
Yup, that first bit of solid food is the best!

Add verity to your routine, Your muscles build up resistance after a while, and the work outs hitting those bits get less effective. I would go to a Gym and talk to a trainer.

Screw this hair shedding- Saying bye bye to 10+ inches
Sparklette replied to LeticiaHuggins's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I'm contemplating cutting my hair also, My hair is long, It falls almost to my butt when it's straightened. It's always been really thick, so the hair loss hasn't been as noticeable to most people, but I'm getting really tired of these strands falling out. -
My doc tested my nicotine level the day of surgery. They don't like to operate on smokers because nicotine lowers the body's healing abilities, and with obese people, our bodies already have so many complications, doctors are serious about eliminating as many negative factors as they can.

Welcome. You'll be alright, I mean, you're meeting with a new doctor, might as well get the ball rolling on your new life. Two birds and all. Jump on this opportunity, I know how companies change insurance companies, you can't afford to mess around.

You will feel miserable if you do. DO NOT DO IT! it is a bad mistake. The grease will rip you apart from the inside out. It's not pleasant, Not to mention, you're starting a new lifestyle, so you really want to regress only 5 days out?

I was really apprehensive about jerky after surgery, When I was a kid my mom used to say that Jerky would make you really constipated, and that's on a normal stomach, so I was a little wiggy about it. But I tried it a couple weeks ago, and I chewed a small piece really fine, and It was alright and I had a couple more pieces. I didn't have any problems with it.

On Friday morning, While I was doing my morning walk I thought about this thread. I was walking down the street, and contemplating moving a little faster, moving more of my body, progressing. I picked two points in the road ahead of me, about 100 feet apart, and made a deal with myself. I said "Okay, we're going to run starting on the first point and we're going to make it to that second point." And I considered this idea, the first point coming up as I'm still walking forward, and just said okay. So, I did it, I started running, and it was really weird at first, then I got in to a good rhythm, and it was easy. I went past the second point, and ran until I was out of breath. It was pretty cool actually. I was really proud of myself.

Surgery postponed due to pregnancy
Sparklette replied to clarinetqueen's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Congrats on your pregnancy, though I'm sure it's a bitter sweet thing. I would give you and your baby a few months after the baby is born to heal and grow. I hope you have a wonderful healthy pregnancy. -
You just have to be mindful of your Protein intake. I've heard of people getting great results from a vegan/veggie diet. Good luck. And take your Vitamins lol!

I want to start running aswell, I've been making excuses, saying that I'm not ready, it'll be too much blah blah blah. But I really want to, I'm just scared i guess. I think we just have to dive in and do it, listen to our bodies so we know when to stop. Good luck.

Im going to therapy!
Sparklette replied to Tammy wright's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was required to see a therapist for 6 months before surgery. I've continued going to see her through this journey, it's very beneficial to be able to talk with someone about the happenings of this new life.
