Where are you located? I am in college station. -
At the end of the day your biggest supporter is yourself. You decide if you want to succeed. You push yourself. this transformation is for you and your health. Don't make your husband out to be the scapegoat for your failure/success. At the end of the day it is up to YOU.

Going out to eat *RANT*
Sparklette replied to Amanda R's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
This has been one of my biggest struggles going out. I'm 6 months out and had similar experiences with restaurants. I pre screen all the restaurants now. Legally chain restaurants have to have their calorie count, including fat, sodium, Protein etc counts posted either in the restaurant or online. You can ask the staff for the nutrition information. What I've found is the best thing to do is to order an add on to someone else's meal, It cuts the cost and you can get like an add on of grilled shrimp, or something, and in most chain places you can ask for them to be prepared without oil. Don't be afraid to ask how something is prepared, no one likes dumping, or vomiting in automatic toilets (that's another story). My fitness pal on my phone is one of the best eating out tools. Sure it takes me 20 minutes to order, but they aren't paid for me to be as fast as I can now are they? I ALWAYS order Water. I Never order lemonaid or anything like that, not even power-aid or whatever there is so much sugar in them, and even if there isn't, there is usually sucrolose (splenda) (which i am sensitive to, give me really bad bathroom issues and cramps) not to mention, the sodium content is astronomical. I just order water, it's easier. And, when in doubt, don't eat out. You'll be alright, it takes time to learn how to work our new pouches, and our new restrictions and guidelines, and don't be afraid to be picky, they want your money, and if they want it again, they will do what you want them to do. : ) Good luck. -
Hey! Guess what, As of today I have lost more than I have to lose! 169 lbs lost since my highest weight, only 161 lbs to go!!!! I'm half way there!

crying like a baby no support at all
Sparklette replied to xiomara8868's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
This is common. You used to find comfort in your food and your family bonding over it. Now there is a disconnect. It happens a lot. Your partner needs to help you. But he might not know how. Talk to him. I would also recommend therapy probably someone who specializes in addiction disorders. Things get better. -
What are the "foamies"?
Sparklette replied to Kcarr1120's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
When you eat too much or eat sometjing wrong and you feel nauseous and you produce this foamy crud that is reminiscent of baby spit up. Its unpleasant. -

So I had a crazy headache at work yesterday. So I took an asprin.... WORST IDEA EVER!! I took half of the pill and I think it reacted with something in my stomach and I about 5 minutes later I had to vomit horrifically. And it tasted lile the outer coating of pills. I felt aweful and gross...never taking it again.

Incision site "sunk-in"
Sparklette replied to bb00024's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Mine did too, I was concerned about it at first. But It's the site where they most "work" was done, and as it heals it's swelling and pulling the stitches in, creating that sunken effect, I'll go away in about a month. at least mine did. You'll be alright. -

Honestly. You gotta get used to the situation. You will be eating fractions leaa than you have been forever. And everyone around you will be eating what looks like gigantic servings. Focus. On what you are eating not what he is.
