It's been a long journey, 20 and excited
Sparklette replied to ChrissyVon's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I was in stage one which was liquids. I had four ounces of whey isolate w/ skim milk 5x a day. And I walked a half mile three times a day. I think that the reason I lost so much was because I have a lot to lose. -
Worse comes to worse you will have to wait a few years for your history to be acceptable. Or have you considered self pay? Or it might be a blessing in disguise. A chance to do it on your own. I know it sucks but maybe someone has a plan.

Welcome. Congratulations on taking this step. I am 2 weeks out down 31 lbs and never felt better. If you have any questions feel free to ask I have bcbs. They will cover the removal only if it is causing problems (rash infection etc) -

Not at all. I am 13days out 31 lbs Down. My doc said I have had the dream recovery. I have had no nausea no pain after day 5. Its been great. -
Check the sugar, I know monsters, even the low carb monsters still have like a zillion grams of sugar in them. I'd be afraid of dumping. Try the b12 energy shots.

Be creative with the shakes, add different things to it. I have the vanilla cream whey isolate, and it's bleh by it's self. I started adding sugar free coffee creamer, and flavorings, and spices. I made a hazelnut cinnamon shake yesterday, it was super tasty.

I had my post op check up with my surgeon. Everything looks good, except my pulse was a little high, so he thinks I'm dehydrated. So I'm upping Water intake. Buuuuut I've lost 31 lbs since my surgery date! only 13 days. That's like 2.5 lbs a day! Totes cray. But I'm super happy about it. Hopefully I'll be out of the 400's by then end of the month -fingers crossed-

Excess skin in younger RNY.
Sparklette replied to Sparklette's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
That would be nice -
Hey, I'm 21, I'm having my surgery soon. I've looked in to pretty much every problem that happens after RNY, but the one thing I haven't found is the excess skin on younger people. If anyone has pics or could describe their excess skin, or what they did to prevent it please spread the information. Thank you.

Congrats! I am 21 I started my journey at 19. And went through the same bs. But now I am 12 days out and it's well worth it. Message me if you have any questions. -
"nothing tastes as good as skinny feels" You will be alright, when you start thinking about food find something to keep your mind busy, go for a walk, take a bath, do something. Also, my therapist said to brush my teeth when I consider cheating, you know how tooth paste makes everything taste ick. Just think about that number, 39 is a good number, and it'll keep going up. Focus on the positives.

help! im 2 weeks out and going to be at applebees..WHAT DO I EAT?
Sparklette replied to NycGal's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
They have a really good tortilla soup that should be alright, It's kinda like chili. -
What did you cheat with? Don't try to rush your recovery, it will make things worse. I would recommend having a friend or family member to be around to help with your child and your mother. You will be fine, just don't stress, breathe, etc.

Aetna approval without 2 year weight history?
Sparklette replied to momx4goingthedistance's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It depends, my insurance (BCBS) would qualify it with moderate to severe SA. I'd talk to your insurance. -

Chapstick #1! Some form of entertainment.(book/tablet/computer) Slip on shoes, or socks to walk around in. (although some hospitals provide these) Pillow (hospital beds are the devil) Phone/charger Loose clothing to go home in. Yeah, that's pretty much it. Lol -
Same here, although, now my tummy makes noise all the time, so it's a trade off, lol.

Aetna approval without 2 year weight history?
Sparklette replied to momx4goingthedistance's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Do you have any co-morbidities? Most insurances will do bmi of 35+ with diabetes, sleep ap, high blood pressure, pcos, etc. -
Everything will be fine, Find a way to distract your mind, read a book, or walk around the lobby. I just realized that this advice is probably a little bit late. lol.

Have a surgery date but still have not gotten the approval from Insurance
Sparklette replied to Kwagner01's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
They gave me my date before my approval also, I just called every other day until they told me I was approved.
