9 weeks post op and off to Onederland!

Congratulations! -
Congratulations! You're going through a major life change, and it's well worth it. I'm a month out and every day is something different, but I've never regretted my decision.

I told everyone. Those who were negative I stopped talking to, those who were positive and supportive I kept close. It was a good way to weed out toxic people from my life. I don't regret telling people. This is my new life, and I'm proud of my decision to undergo this procedure, and I want people to know my story, and see how far I've come, and how far I'll go. The choice to tell people depends on you, if you don't feel comfortable telling people then don't.

Can't get over the mental hunger

I just take a nibble, and usually it tastes nothing like I imagined and the craving dissipates. -
What to Expect - First Appointment!
Sparklette replied to SarahBeth's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
At my first appointment The first thing they did was take my weight and vitals (pulse, blood sugar, temp etc). Then I met with the surgeon who talked about my weight history, and goals, which segued in to the choice of surgery. I had made a firm decision to have bypass, so he agreed that it would be the best option. Then, he did a physical exam, I laid on the table and examined my tummy. It isn't that bad, just turn your brain off for a few seconds. He just felt around a little bit, and said everything looked good, and that I'd be an excellent candidate for the surgery. Then he ordered labs and tests and exams. Blood work, Psych exam, ekg, and upper GI. -

Well. I had a feeling it would happen. Post op depression kicked in this week. Having trouble getting motivated to exercise and eat. The scale stopped moving and I am feeling heavy. I miss "before" food.

Chapter 1: The Beginning
Sparklette replied to SarahBeth's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Hey, I'm Ashley, and I'm about four weeks post op. I'm 21 years old, and your life story sounded like mine, to the T! My dad was actually the one who mentioned the idea to me, And I was in "wtf did you just say to me" mode at first, but then considered it further, dove head first in to research and well, we see where I am now. Nearly 40 lbs down, and feeling better than i have in a long time. I've had my ups and downs the past few weeks, but I've never regretted my decision. Because I know that if I had kept going the way I was I'd die before I was 30. If you have any questions feel free to send me a message, I'd love to answer any questions you have, and it's always nice to have someone around your own age to talk to about this stuff. -
I know that where I live, you go to the court and it's $40 for the papers, you both sign it and turn it back to the court.

Thank you all for you kind words and advice. I'm feeling a lot better today. My best friend, who is sometimes a little too nosey for her own good rummaged through my phone this morning and saw this post, where she went a little ape s***. And took me out for the day, not letting me get a moment to settle in to my mind. We went shopping, and swimming and souping. (it's what she calls eating out with me now. because I stick to Soups, and it adds nice alliteration) Then we took a visit to another friends house, whom I haven't seen since before surgery and she gushed about how different I looked, which was a nice reminder of what I'm doing this for. But thank you all. I knew I'd get support from y'all.

Silly question? When were you able to sleep on your stomach.
Sparklette replied to Kwagner01's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I started sleeping on my stomach after about a week and a half. I couldn't sleep otherwise. -

My nut said that we can absorb 45 none the less. I don't have it all at once. It is body fortress whey isolate. It has 60g for 2 scoops. I make 16oz in the morning and break it down to 4 - 4 oz meals. So I get my protein in through the day.
-
I'm 2 weeks out, I'm eating 5x a day, making sure each meal is at least 12g of protein each.

I know I'm special, But he didn't. I just want to show him how far I've come, and how I was able to better my life without him.

I took a tour of anytime fitness. I liked that you could literally go anytime (midnight work out yeah!!) I didn't ask about weight limit. But then I am not supposed to really work out till the end of may
