Maybe they're not doing that many surgeries tomorrow. ?? It seems kinda cruel to make you go that long with nothing. Maybe IVs.
-
Tylenol should be ok...that's about the only thing my surgeon allows.

Yay Mandee!! Save some room on the loser's bench for me.

Hi to all the losers! I hope you all are feeling better. What stuff did you take to the hospital with you? I'm trying to get my stuff together for Thursday. Thanks!

Hey all. I just had to post something that I am patting myself on the back for. In the past I would often turn to food during periods of high stress (haven't we all at some point?). Well today was an unusually stressful day, and I went to McDonald's. I got my son and husband some food - AND NOTHING FOR MYSELF!!!!!!!!!!!' While they ate everything, I chugged my water. It was tough, but I did it. And McDonald's was my biggest weak spot. OMG. Anyway, I guess the mindset change is in effect. I know I won't be perfect, but at least I can see the changes in myself.

No fair! We're surgery buddies! :-) Just joking. Congrats. You're one day closer to the losers bench.

OMG just found my new favorite thing. Vanilla protein powder in coffee. Just like a latte! I know I'm not the first to try this, but I'm super excited. LOL

Ugh! I was not prepared for this liquid diet headache! And I can't take my excedrin. :'(
-
I think I'm about to liquify...all these darn liquids are getting on my nerves! I caved today and had a salad...at least it wasn't a cheeseburger or anything, but I felt so weak. I'll be so glad when hunger is no longer an issue. Just a few more days now...

I know I can't understand what you ladies are feeling right now, but just try to hang in there and it will get better! (And remember to tell me that this week after my surgery when I'm having the same doubts as you are!)

Hi all. I'm starting my liquid diet, and the protein shake I'm using has 30 grams per carton (11 oz). I'm drinking it three times a day, so I'm getting 90 oz of protein. Is that too much? Is there a such thing as too much protein? I will ask my nutritionist, but I can't get to her until tomorrow. Thanks!

Hi all. I just had a very good conversation with myself (I'm not crazy ) and with God, and I must say that all my nerves and anxiety about this surgery and lifestyle change are GONE! I feel so much at peace with everything that I know I'm doing the right thing. I'm not going to worry about this, that or the third. Things will happen the way they're meant to happen, whether I worry or not. I guess I'm saying all that to say this - I pray that each of us get to that place of peace with this process. Some of you were there way ahead of me, and I imagine there are some that are still trying to get there. But I do attribute a lot of this ease to the amount of support and comradery that I get from this forum. So thank you all, and God bless.

Too much protein?

Well my nutritionist is out of the office until Tuesday...my surgery is Thursday so that's not really going to help me. I guess I'll just keep doing what I'm doing and pray that I'm not hurting anything. -
That's awful! I'm sorry you had to go through all those hours of pain because of her neglect or whatever she wants to call it. I would definitely report that to her supervisor or your surgeon if you haven't already. And I'm glad you're feeling better now that you're home.

Can you mix it with your water? I know some liquid vitamins allow that.

Where's wannabeawifey??? I pray all is well.

Too much protein?

Yes, Premier Protein. I love the chocolate! I think they make strawberry too. -
I don't know about anyone else, but I can hardly do any work these days. All I can focus on is this journey! Mentally I'm already on leave...

Hi all. Someone who is 2 years post op gave me this tip that I thought was pretty cool, so I thought I'd share it. She said that when you go eat out and get a to go box for a later meal, DO NOT reheat the protein. Protein apparently changes as it is reheated, and it can become too hard to chew or digest. She said it would get stuck for her a bunch and cause a lot of pain. It was something I hadn't thought about...I was actually looking forward to having leftovers. :-)

I hope everything went well. I imagine since no update your procedure wasn't postponed again. :-)
