Wow, that's one of the biggest reasons I'm going to Mobile. They don't charge an administrative fee. I personally think that is so wrong in so many ways..I feel as if people are already paying so much.
-
Does that go toward your Ins or not? I'm just curious because I know Dr. Lord charges almost 800 in administrative fees. That is strictly out of pocket. That's a bit excessive..
-
My questions were about 315. Yeah alot. And he even read every single one to me. It took about an hour and we talked for about an hour. Usually it's a 2 hour or so appt. I'm curious. Did you have to pay anything up front to the Dr. office that didn't go toward your INS?
-
I didn't have to do that. The psych read all the questions to me and then I answered them. Good luck... Is that all you have to do?

I haven't had my surgery yet. But I am a stay at home mom of two. The surgery is scary, but I know in my heart it's the only way for me to be as healthy as I can be. Especially for myself and my family. Good luck and I'm sure you'll make the right decision for you..

I completely understand what you're saying. My bestfriend "or so I thought" of almost 25 years aren't friends anymore. She basically used my family and myself and then pushed us out of her life..Her Religion and her politics got the better of her... It hurt at first and I tried to go back and be friends with her, but it was never the same. And all of the emotions were still there. I know how bad it hurts, but it's probably better that way..Unfortunetly friends do come and go. Even after 20 plus years. Hope you feel better soon...

Stress is no joke!! I'm not sure about supervised weight loss. My Ins doesn't require it. I'm sure everything will work out for you. Where are from Panama City Beach? I live in Pensacola, is this where you are coming for surgery? I'm actually going to Mobile. I can't wait. I have my Nut and Psych out of the way, so now I get to do my pre-op and set up my date...

You need to do what's best for YOU and your health. You're the one that has to live with the weight not him or anyone else. It's an extremely hard decision, but when you have tried and tried sometimes you have to the surgery route. Maybe he's scared of you losing the weight and then leaving him. Hope you can decide what ou need to do. Which ever route you go on.

Wipe your skin off with alcohol pads or alcohol and a paper towel. Let it dry for a minute, then put on the patch, it should stick. Also if you know you're going to do something that requires you to sweat. I found if I put a, I believe it's a 4x4 waterproof bandage on top of it. Then you don't have to worry about it falling off....Hope that helps....

Quiting is hard no doubt. I wear a patch and also have my e-cig. Let me tell you, it helps tremendously. And believe it or not. I can be around smokers and it doesn't affect me. And I smoked for 20 years. The first day is the hardest, but once the patch starts to work it is so much better with the withdraws. My problem is mental more than physical. And my Dr doesn't do testing for nicotine, so that surprised me. Good luck!!!

Congrats!! How did you use all the weight prior? I want to lose some before surgery...

I'm just curious for those that have had the surgery. How long it took from the time you had your pysch and nut appt until surgery? my pysch and nut is on the 12th. So i'm hoping they submit there stuff pretty quick so that they can send everything off for approval.

I have BCBS ANTHEM. Mine is out of Virginia, but I live in Pensacola. (My husbands Ins). I like you had to wait for a consult. my Ins kicked in on July 1st, but i went to my seminar June 12th. It went by fast believe it or not. I'm sure your Ins requires the same as mine. 1 pysch and 1 Nut consult. Then everything will be submitted for approval. From there I go to the begin class and pre-op and get my date. So i'm really hoping for end of July early August. And as far as faith. I believe it takes a lot of faith to have this done. Really, who wants to voluntarily have a major surgery. Right.

Last Appointment Before Meeting With The Surgeon!
tamihill replied to Jessica89's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I'm just curious how many nicotine tests you have had? I stopped smoking a few weeks ago. I wear the patch, but I also use the e-cig at times. I had my consult with the surgeon last Tuesday and asked the MA about the smoking and testing. She said he doesn't check for nicotine, just goes by Ins recommendations. I felt a sigh of relief. Not becasue I'm smoking, but if I decide to take a hit off of my husbands cig I won't get popped. And no I haven't started back. Good luck..... -
I'm just wondering if having surgery made the thought of exercising easier. Since you knew that your weight would start dropping. And you knew that you weren't doing it for nothing and getting discouraged.

I have my consult on Tuesday and am very excited and nervous. I'm curious as to what the best questions are to be asked? I have a few, but I know there is something out there that I am missing. Help please? Tami

Went to my consult. Dr only wants what's requested by the Ins. So that means a Psych and Nut consult. Yeah, I have those both scheduled for the 12th of July. Then they will submit everything to the Ins. I hope to have surgery by the beginning of Aug. I'm so freakin excited. NEW ME HERE I COME!!!
-
Per my Ins. I only need a Psych and Nut eval. Now as far as what the Dr wants, not sure. I will find out Tuesday. Hopefully he'll go by what the Ins wants. I'm sure i'll have a gallbladder US, blood work and basic pre-op things. I'm definetly curious to find out..

Good Luck!!! How long did it take you to get to this point? Tami
