I am having my revision on 8/20, I cannot get my boyfriend to stop saying that he does not want anything to happen to me. I have tried explaining that I already have been through this, that I know what to expect that I am physically in the best health I have ever been but nothing can make him feel better. I know he is just concerned but he is just making me more anxious & driving me nuts in the process! Any advice welcomed!

I Feel Horrible

There are several reasons for vomiting not chewing well, eating food that is too dry. It is not okay to be vomiting all the time, if this is the case in my opinion I would go to your dr, it could be a sign of a stricture or something else. By not eating properly you can develop anemia and deficencies that can be detrimental to your health. Good luck and take care of yourself! -
Something to keep in mind the physical therapist at my pre op seminar said that walking is ideally the best at the beginning because on the treadmill everytime you step you are pounding down and that is not good until you are completely healed.

I would go with what your nut or dr say. I bought at Target pure protein vanilla and the frosty chocolate and they are both quite tasty. And for 20.00 a pop 140 cal, 2.5g of fat, 2g sugar and 25p you cannot beat that. Sometimes these places just want you to fork out 50 bucks for a protein and they do not even know what RNY patients need. By the way thank u Dlcoggin for the recomendation!

Best wishes!

Isn't that a magnificent feeling! Congrats!

I do not know about that bcuz my dr is very upfront and that might freak him out even more, Lol! I was going to take him with me to the pre op seminar the date got changed he couldn't go. After all I am glad he did not bcuz they talked about being intubated, the drain etc.,. He probably would have fainted!

Tomorrow I begin my two week full liquid diet, not looking forward to it! My revisional RNY is scheduled for 8/20. My original was back in 2004 & I lost a total of 170lbs. Over the last two to three years I began gaining weight (53lbs). I decided to have a revision after an endoscopy showed my anastamosis was dialated. I also had a upper GI that showed my pouch was not stretched. However having the dialation causes food to empty my pouch quicker causing hunger after a short period of time. This is something that just happened through no fault of my own. However I did pick up the habit of smoking for the last eight years after never smoking before that! I have succesfully quit since 6/20 & hope to stay that way! I also started drinking alcohol twice a month, which I attribute this bad behavior to part of my weight gain. I would just like to tell newbies that although I will be doing this again I do not feel like a failure. I have been extremely happy and most importantly healthy over the past 8 years; I was to a point that if I did not have surgery I would not be around today. I had severe complications my first time around & still have decided to go through with this revision because RNY saved my life. I am not doing this again to be a size zero or to look a certain way. I just want to continue to enjoy the quality of life that this surgery afforded me. It has been one hell of a ride that I plan to continue to enjoy. My best advice is that carbs/ sweets are the devil and you should really limit these! Enjoy each day that this great procedure allows us to enjoy it is magical & magnificent!
