Understandable' date=' it's insanely hard to quit, probably the hardest thing I've ever had to do. I will always highly suggest quitting tools such as the e-cig, patch, gum, or chantix. Whatever makes it happen. Good luck, I'm sure you'll be successful :'] - Kaylee Ann ~ Surgerversary: 6/11/12 -

Family was pretty supportive, many friends were not because "it's not natural or healthy" blah blah ignorance. All of the negativity I've heard is due to people not knowing a thing about it, so I really try to make them understand that what I did was NOT the easy way out by any means. I've completely changed the opinions of a couple people about the surgery and that makes me feel great because nothing hurts more than someone thinking less of you because you were "too lazy to get healthy on your own and took the easy route out" when that is simply not the case - Kaylee Ann ~ Surgerversary: 6/11/12

Being able to eat with the family. It's awkward when everyone else is eating the same tasty food and I'm not :/ - Kaylee Ann ~ Surgerversary: 6/11/12

I too am afraid of failing, but feel like after all the work and tears I've put in to have this surgery I won't allow myself to. My worst habit pre-op was fast food, and now that I'm almost a month out and eating healthy I've gotten all the MSG and saturated fat out of my system and don't really want to eat unhealthy anymore (regardless that I'd get sick if I did anyways). It's all about starting and keeping good habits in the beginning so after a few years post-op when you're able to eat larger quantities and more unhealthy foods that you choose not to. The gastric bypass is not a cure for obesity, it is quite literally a "restart button" that allows you to get thin and not fuck it up again. Welcome, you're going to do great :] - Kaylee Ann ~ Surgerversary: 6/11/12

So I ate my dinner, waited 30mins to drink my Water and now I have this horrible pain in the center of my chest that goes down to my sternum along with on and off nausea... is this dumping from drinking too soon or something else? I've never had to wait more than 30mins before. Really doesn't feel good, almost like terrible gas pain but in my chest - Kaylee Ann ~ Surgerversary: 6/11/12

for me: run without feeling/hearing the bottom half of my belly lap against my thighs. SO embarrassing! plus being able to run for more than 30 seconds without falling over dead would be nice too -

Thinking About Cancelling Surgery
Lebim replied to lotstolose's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Listen, I was absolutely 100% convinced I was going to die on the table. What got me through was knowing that the way I was living was no way to live at all. Think about all the other insanely more dangerous surgeries there are like open heart surgery and spinal surgery and brain surgery and people live through those, comparatively this is nothing. The mortality rate is very low and the reason they did all the testing is to be sure without a doubt that you'll make it through the surgery. You'll be fine. Also as far as you saying "is this the right time?" Absolutely! The sooner the better. Once you wake up you'll be so happy. Good luck - Kaylee Ann ~ Surgerversary: 6/11/12 -

Sweet - your hair is bad ass. So I don't have any progress pics because I've only lost like 15 lbs but this is me a week pre op. Excuse the dumb face in the first pic, I was plastered. PS sorry they keep uploading sideways they aren't sideways on my phone :/ Weight before surgery: around 265 at 5'8" - Kaylee Ann ~ Surgerversary: 6/11/12 -
Yeah my nutritionist's opinion is people only become lactose intolerant if they stop drinking it all together, so the sooner you introduce it back into your diet the less likely that is. The weird thing is now if I have a sip of milk by itself it tastes weird to me and I used to drink 1/2 a gallon a day. Tastes fine mixed with my Protein though - Kaylee Ann ~ Surgerversary: 6/11/12
