My BIGGEST issue was quitting smoking. I smoked 1 to 1.5 picks a day for years. I was able to successfully quit with the help of the patch for about 2 weeks (which got me over my smoking&driving trigger) and then I switched to the 'finity' e-cigarette which you can buy at walgreens. I used the e-cigarette for a few weeks and one night while having wine I was using it and it made me so nauseous that I never used it again. Everyone i worked with, all my friends and my parents (who I live with) smoked while I was quitting, so that can not be an excuse. It's one of the hardest things i've had to do but now I'm 3-4 months without cigarettes and it feels amazing. I save so much money (I suggest doing what I did and using some of the money you save from not buying cigarettes as a gift to yourself for quitting. I.e. I now get my nails done regularly which costs me $80/m which is way cheaper than smoking which cost me $200/m. It also keeps me from picking it up again because I just love having beautiful nails.) You will love being a non smoker believe me. Having your entire life not surround around cigarettes is awesomely liberating in a way you just can't understand right now. 1. Be able to fit a towel around me 2. Stop hearing "you have such a pretty face" 3. Boys giving me the time of day 4. Water park/beach/bathing suit 5. Falling not being as embarrassing... know what I mean? 6. No more chaffing 7. Not being embarrassed at how huge my clothes/underwear looks off my body 8. Not sweating all the time 9. I'm post op and can't imagine it coming off either. I've lost 26 lbs but am waiting for the weight to stop coming off because me being thin just doesn't seem like it could happen in reality - Kaylee Ann ~ Surgiversary: 6/11/12

I had a very hard time using my stomach muscles to sit up from my bed and really anything abdomen related like coughing hurt. Walking made the pain less noticeable, though for about 2 weeks I was holding the left side of my stomach while standing/walking because it hurt not to (mind you I later found out I had an infection on my left side so that could have been the culprit) - Kaylee Ann ~ Surgiversary: 6/11/12

I had a little bit of fruit juice mixed with a few blackberries and 1/2 a banana and a little milk with my Calcium powder blended with ice and half way through my drink I had to keep myself from vomiting at work for 25 mins today - Kaylee Ann ~ Surgiversary: 6/11/12

I've been told by many people that post-op you are no longer hungry and have to remind yourself to eat. This is not the case for me at all, every 2 hours or so after eating i'm starving! Some people say it's head hunger but it sure doesn't feel mental since my stomach is growling like a beast inside me. I eat about 80g of.protein daily so that's not the issue. Does anyone have or plan on getting a post op tattoo? One of the girls in my local support group has one along the lines of "a new life a new beginning" etc on her arm. I have a tattoo planned out that I actually wanted prior to even considering WLS and now it's perfect for a post op tattoo haha. I want to get corset ribbons tattooed on my ribs to remind me not to "have to loosen them" so to say. I've also been waiting years to get tattoos because i didn't want to be fat when I got them, so I'm also thrilled to be able to start getting the other 3 I have planned out

That is actually an awesome idea. I'd do it but would be way too scared to have a visible tattoo in the job field i'm going in to. Would be hard to get hired - Kaylee Ann ~ Surgiversary: 6/11/12
