Feeling Discouraged
Lebim replied to jeanetteramirez2's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Remember, the people losing 40+ lbs a month are starting around 400+ lbs The smaller you are the slower you lose - Kaylee Ann ~ Surgiversary: 6/11/12 -
Feeling Discouraged
Lebim replied to jeanetteramirez2's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I started at 5'8" and 263lbs and have been losing about 20lbs/month. 17lbs in 3 weeks is great! If you worked your ass off at the gym and ate nothing without surgery you'd lose less. Don't get discouraged. You don't want to lose TOO fast, want to give your skin some tell to catch up - Kaylee Ann ~ Surgiversary: 6/11/12 -
1Lb A Week-Very Frustrating

As long as you're comfortable have sex whenever you're ready. NOTE my surgeon told me that for 3 months post-op many girls are much more fertile and it's much more likely to get pregnant, so please be careful! Since we can't be on birth control (bc of blood clots) for a month post-op wearing a condom is a must. Also be careful with swallowing, apparently there's 15g/sugar per tablespoon, no one told me and I dumped! Happy humping :] - Kaylee Ann ~ Surgiversary: 6/11/12

Maybe try an iced americano (espresso and Water, supposed to be the italian equivalent of our drip coffee) or iced coffee with cream and sf vanilla. A lot less milk and if you get the americano you get a lot more caffeine and it basically tastes like a latte. I can't drink lattes anymore so I do that. Right now I'm drinking a tall americano with 1 pump sf vanilla and 1 pump sf hazelnut with cream. Tasty - Kaylee Ann ~ Surgiversary: 6/11/12

Yeah milk has 8g of protein per 8oz so if you can stomach it it's a great source of protein. - Kaylee Ann ~ Surgiversary: 6/11/12

Small Victory Today! (Girls, You Will Understand)

How long does it last and isn't very expensive to have both legs completely waxed? - Kaylee Ann ~ Surgiversary: 6/11/12 -
Aaaaaanyways. Another drink suggestion! The very berry hibiscus refresher. NOT THE CAN OR VIA - the stuff they make in store. It's 100% fruit juice, Water, and dried black berries. If you can process the natural sugars in berries you'll be fine. No added sugar. Green coffee extract so there is caffeine, less than a cup of coffee but more than a soda. Low calorie (60 cals in a tall) and really is refreshing. Ps- there is also the cool lime refresher. (Lime fruit juice with a dried lime and water) I personally don't like it as much since the "cool" in cool lime refers to a minty undertone in the lime juice, but a lot of people like it. - Kaylee Ann ~ Surgiversary: 6/11/12

2 pumps mocha would be enough flavor and less calories - Kaylee Ann ~ Surgiversary: 6/11/12

Not necessarily. My surgeon suggests sugar free pudding for me. Plus the mocha is dark chocolate based so naturally is less sweet. - Kaylee Ann ~ Surgiversary: 6/11/12

I don't count calories. The skinny mocha is sugar free and uses nonfat milk. A tall is 12oz so it's about a cup of milk with 4oz containing 1 shot of espresso and 3 pumps of skinny mocha - Kaylee Ann ~ Surgiversary: 6/11/12

I've gotten it before and been fine. I personally prefer an iced americano versus our iced coffee though. Watch out with the half&half of course. Try the sugar free french vanilla (sf vanilla & sf hazelnut) - Kaylee Ann ~ Surgiversary: 6/11/12

No you don't. *skinny* means we change it to nonfat milk and sugar free syrup and no whip cream - Kaylee Ann ~ Surgiversary: 6/11/12

Milk, regardless if it is nonfat or whole, is 12g of sugar and 12g of carbs per 8oz, all that changes is the fat content. A venti iced latte is 3/4 milk with only a tenth of the 26oz cup being the 3 shots of espresso and 6 pumps of sugar free vanilla syrup, the rest is ice. Sincerely, your friendly neighborhood Starbucks employee Ps - many people post op cannot process milk (me for example) but there are the lucky ones like you. Since the sugar and carbs are coming from a natural source (I.e. cows) you are probably able to drink it with no problem. Same thing is true for why people can usually digest Beans versus is if an item with the same sugar/carb content (I.e. bread) would make you sick. - Kaylee Ann ~ Surgiversary: 6/11/12

They honestly don't taste bad but you need to have 3 a day and they take 30+ minutes to dissolve and became too much of an inconvenience for me. Now I take 4 horse sized Calcium citrate pills a day, 2 in the morning and 2 at night. Since I've never had a problem taking pills I prefer this method - Kaylee Ann ~ Surgiversary: 6/11/12

To the right is mine, they're chewy delicious gummies that I picked up at the drug store, I take 2 in the morning. All my blood work came back great at 6 weeks so they've been working fabulously for me - Kaylee Ann ~ Surgiversary: 6/11/12
