Sorry y'all. I should have deleted this post. Just to give a VERY overdue update, the moving process was scary for a minute, but it did go safely overall. I found an attorney to help me with the divorce process. He ended up moving out of state a week after I moved. I am safe finally and so much happier. The Lord really protected me throughout all of this and healed my heart. I am dating someone who is the kindest, sweetest man I've ever met. He is very good to me and protects my heart.

Hi everybody, I hate to say this, because I feel like such a statistic, but I am going to have to divorce my husband. We've been married for almost 7 years. We've had our struggles, but it has turned into an abusive relationship that is escalating in violence. I have decided to leave. We don't have any kids. I honestly have tried to save this relationship with everything I could, but now it's time to go. The only problem is, I have no idea about the divorce process. I live in TN. Has anyone been through a divorce with no kids? We don't have a house or anything major to fight over besides maybe appliances. Is it possible to do it yourself without an attorney? Also, I'm worried that he won't sign the papers just to be spiteful. Also, does anyone have an idea how long the process is? I'm hoping to get this over with as soon as possible so I can just start over and heal. Thank you for you advice in advance!, Emily

Training for a 5 k - BIG deal for me!
Baker_gurl replied to Sparklingbeauty53's topic in The Gals' Room
Running a 5k is another one of my goals! I did 2 this summer, the color fun fest (A color run), and the Hit and Run 5k (Obstacle themed race). I walked them because I'm not a runner yet. Now that it's getting a little cooler again here, I'm going to restart the Couch to 5k training. I really want to be a runner! I'm hoping after I train for a while that I can sign up for a half marathon next year. That's going to be a huge challenge, but I'm excited and determined! -
What foods made you dump?
Baker_gurl replied to Lthomas's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have not had this in a while, but I noticed that CFA lemonade made me dump. Also, I tried gelato in Rome and it was delicious, but I was miserable for the rest of the day!! I was in the catacombs when the feeling hit a few hours after consumption. It was awful! -
I'm just at 2 years out from surgery. I'm needing to get back on track. I've lost around 130 pounds and am hovering around the 200 pound mark. I'm making an effort to get back on track this week. I really want to be under 200 pounds and complete my weight loss goal of making it to 150. Sometimes, I get frustrated because I've lost a decent amount of weight, but I still feel really big. I just need to refocus on my goals and remember the motivation I had when I first had surgery. I don't want to take this for granted and I most definitely do not want to be back where I started! This forum is so inspiring. I know that success is possible if I just get out of my own way!

Congrats!! You look amazing!! Isn't it exciting?

Hi everyone, Just wanted to give y'all an update. Moving out went ok. I did have to call the police because he wouldn't let us into the house at first and was being a jerk. I just didn't want to take a chance since my friends and some of their children were present to help move. Everything is going really well in my new place! I honestly thought I would be a wreck once I moved out, but I have been feeling better than I have in years!! I have contacted an attorney about a divorce. She is going to draft the paperwork and once I file, I have to wait for 60 days until I can set up a court date. Hoping this will all be over in August! And after all that fuss about how I would have to be the one to move out if we separated, he moved back to MI last week! Ugh!! Good riddance to him!!

I am going to be attending my first amusement park in like 10 years!! I'm heading to Branson, MO for the weekend with a sweet friend and we are planning on going to Silver Dollar City. I haven't been to an amusement park in years because I just didn't fit in the rides! I'm so excited!! I think that I should be able to fit in them now and I am ready to start living life again! Has anyone been to SDC before? Any tips or recommendations? Thanks!

Heading to Silver Dollar City!
Baker_gurl replied to Baker_gurl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Wow!! What a difference losing 113 pounds can make!! This theme park experience was so different from before!! Last time I was publicly humiliated when I couldn't fit in the roller coaster. I was just crushed. This time, I rode every ride possible!! I fit comfortably in every ride we went on and had the time of my life!! I had energy all day long to walk the park. I still want to lose quite a bit more, but I finally feel like I can be free and just live again!! I am overjoyed!!! Oh, and another NSV, I went to a Cardinals baseball store and was actually able to purchase a women's cardinals tank top! I usually have to buy the men's size shirt because the women's just do not fit in that type of official sports shirt. I was very happy to be able to buy a girly Cardinals shirt instead of a baggy men's style! -

Thanks everyone for the advice! Thankfully, I won't be driving, so I can just sit back and enjoy the scenery instead of worrying about traffic. I am hoping to tour Marvel Cave at the park. I am also hoping to partake in some of those shopping malls! I know we're going to The Presley's Country Jubilee. My friend said it's his favorite show. -
Thank you both ladies!! I am going to sign the lease for a new rental today. I'm planning on moving out Saturday. Please pray that it goes safely. I'm not sure how he'll react. I don't know if I should call the police to be there? He never leaves the house anymore without me so I can't do it when he's gone because he's always there, ugh!! Thank you so much! I covet your prayers. This is not anything I thought I'd have to do, but I love myself too much now to stay with such an abusive man.
-
Oh thank you Padlrd!!! I am clueless about a divorce and I just want this mess to be over as quickly as possible!! I was really worried that he would have to sign them. He is very jealous and has convinced himself that I was cheating. I figured he would not sign the papers just to be hateful. I am in full agreement about leaving. He has hurt me for the last time!! I was a very good and faithful wife and he just missed out big time!
-
I am so sorry!! I will be praying that God moves in your situation and you can finally be safe and happy! I am in a similar situation. We don't have kids, thank the Lord, but it is emotionally and physically abusive. I have had enough! I sign the lease for my new place today and move out this weekend. I'm never looking back!! He had more than enough chances to do right by me and better himself, but he took me for granted. He also just started accusing me of cheating on him too. Seriously!! I have never cheated in my life and he is spreading rumors like crazy to make himself look innocent. I know this is cliche, but I finally just realized that life is too short to be with a person who makes you miserable daily!! I'm starting my new life and hoping that this divorce goes smoothly and quickly! You and I both deserve to live a happy life. It may not be easy, but it will be worth it in the end.

I had my 6th month check up last Wednesday. I have lost 90 pounds since surgery. I still have a long way to go, but I am excited at what I've accomplished so far!

How about some NSVs!?!?
Baker_gurl replied to shyanne's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I just returned from a big trip where I was required to take 6 different flights. I had not traveled by plane in probably 4 years. Last time I traveled, I was completely embarrassed because I had to ask for a seat belt extender. This time around I had plenty of extra seat belt to spare!! I actually took a picture I was so happy!! Traveling was much more comfy this time around!! -
I used to absolutely hate asparagus and I was in Aldi's and saw a big bag of it for a great price. I don't know what possessed me to buy it, but I did. I cooked it that night and discovered I love it now! I seriously can't get enough of it! I'm putting it in everything! To think, I used to live in West MI where I had a unlimited supply of fresh asparagus when it was in season and I hated it, lol! Have your tastes changed drastically since surgery? Is there anything that you now love or have an aversion to post op?

I love strawberry lemonade this time of year, but I just can't enjoy it as much after surgery. I came up with a recipe yesterday morning for a strawberry lemonade Protein smoothie. It was very refreshing and I can't wait to have it again! Recipe: (Makes 1-2 servings) 1 cup Non-fat Plain Greek Yogurt 1 cup Fresh Strawberries, stems removed 3/4 cup ice cubes 2 tsp. lemon zest 1-2 Tbs. Splenda or stevia (to taste) (Optional) 1 scoop Unflavored Protein powder (or flavor of your choice) Mix all in a food processor or blender and enjoy! Thank you Jerz! It's nice to have an outlet to talk about this experience and share with others.

I haven't tried it yet. I love anything strawberry. I've only had the unflavored and the chicken broth protein from Unjury.

Thank you Heather! You are so sweet! You just made my day.

Hi, I found a pin on pinterest yesterday that lead to a blog with a faux pizza crust using ground cauliflower and a few other ingredients! It bakes up just like a real pizza and you can top it with some lowfat cheese and toppings, etc. Here is the link to the blog with the pizza recipe: http://cooklisacook.blogspot.com/2012/07/cauliflower-crust-pizza.html

I like the taste of chicken when I cook it. I can't stand the taste of leftover chicken now! Before I discovered this, I had the bright idea of cooking extra chicken ahead of time and portioning it out into 4 ozs and placing it into zip lock bags to freeze for quick meals. It's a good idea, but now I can't stand the taste of leftover chicken. I guess Mike can eat it?

Bariatric Protein, Supplements & Vitamins - Which products and brands + where to purchase
Baker_gurl replied to Alex Brecher's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I also take 4 calcium citrate pills. I get them in a 300 count bottle for just under $8. I take a sublingual b12 and 1 biotin pill. I get all of these from Walmart. -

Hi, I have been taking this same Vitamin now for probably 3 months. I really like it. I used to take the 1 a day O'purity vitamin from unjury. I like that the Procare Vitamins are also one a day and are easier to chew than the O'purity (plus they are quite a bit smaller!). I don't like the taste very much! I do have to drink something after I chew them to get the taste out of my mouth. The taste is not unpalatable, however. I also like that they are less expensive than the O'purity at only $10 for a months supply. I would recommend these vitamins. They were recommended by my NUT.
