I too heard nothing but horror stories and negativity as I prepared for surgery. People also told me I was choosing the lazy way out. If I would just buckle down I would be normal. Well, today I tell those same people to kiss my ass when thy tell me how amazing I look and how shocking my results are. I have lost 185 pounds in the last year and I now expect I will see my daughters marry and have children. Nothing better than that.

I truly follow my diet plan to a t and try to work out 4 times a week or 30 minutes. If I am not up posed to eat it I don't, and I am very careful to take all of my Vitamins.

Can you email it to me also? Wittnerleon@aol.com -
It seems that I am the exception but I had no problems at all. I was off of work for one week, and just hit four weeks. I focused very hard on preparing for surgery, and I lost 53 lbs in the two months prior to the surgery. I also worked out as much as I could leading up to surgery to be in the best shape I could. I am amazed at how good I feel. I started at 389, weighed 336 the day, and weigh 306 now.

My one out there following the Denver Kaiser diet restrictions? I am 3 1/2 weeks out and I am going crazy being bored with my limited choices for food. Who has branched out beyond that?

Cliff Bars And Isopure Drinks
leonwittner replied to Jackie0384's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
The Isopure was described by a friend as liquid feathers because it sticks in your throat like you are drinking feathers. It is terrible. -
I have lost 66 and haven't really felt any difference in my bad knee. My Doctor told me once the bone is damaged nothing brings it back, but the pressure relief will help some. I am still getting used to not taking Advil as that made a huge difference when I could.

Can anyone tell me when it is okay for me to eat a communion wager. I forgot to ask the nurse. I am 1 1/2 weeks from surgery and eating mashed potatoes and cream of wheat and such. I would like to take communion tomorrow if it is safe.

Congrats. Things will go well. -
I know exactly how you are feeling. We were on vacation the second week of my liver shrinking diet. It was so hard watching my daughters eat pizza and fried seafood. It was all worth it. I lost 20 lbs on the diet for a total of 53 leading up to surgery, and my surgery was on the 19th and it is going great. Stay strong and it will all be worth it.

I have the same problem that started the day after surgery in the hospital. Every dice I can't sit for long without getting up and walking cause it hurts too bad.
-
I think I would have liked to have taken the test as I have no idea about all those things.
-
I did not have to do a swallow test. In Tuesday am, out Thursday am.

What Is More Painful?
leonwittner replied to jenneliza's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I also felt it was not too bad after the first couple of days. It is important to walk as much as you are able as it helps with the gas and the pain. I am 8 days out and feel great. Just a little worn out still. I also focused very hard on walking prior to surgery to help me be in better shape. I started at 389 lbs 3 months before surgery and was 336 on the day of surgery. That was a huge help. Down to 323 at the Dr. Today. -
An anyone tell me when the volume of fluid in their drain started to slow down? My surgery was Tuesday, and the color seems the same as in the hospital but the volume is 20% greater than two days ago. Is this normal. My drain comes out Wednesday.

Some surgeons leave a drain in your belly for a few days after surgery. Not all Dr.s do. It is to monitor the fluids that drain for infection.

Heightened Sense Of Smell After Surgery
leonwittner replied to disneynut02's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am three days out from surgery and the clear protein shake tastes terrible tonight and it tasted fine prior to surgery. My wife also cooked garlic tonight and it made me very nauseous Weird. -

Today Is The Day!
leonwittner replied to mamalovesfootball's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Today is day 4 for me, and I kind of crashed last night. I seem to feel a little stronger this morning so I think I am going to really take it easy for the day. My legs seem very weak. Anyone else experience this?
