UMMMM I'm assuming when you are talking about comments on you pic, you are referring to Facebook. So why the hell is this bitch and/or ANYONE who does not respect you able to #1 SEE your/his posts and #2 ABLE to comment on them?!?!?! IF you tell me it was on your husbands FB page and he is friends with people like that, you got problems bigger than weight issues. Babe, you need to love yourself now! Your self worth should not be based on how much you weigh. This hefer had ABSOLUTELY NO RIGHT to be touching on your man right in front of you! The fact that your man did not stop her, that is a VERY bad sign. I'm not talking getting into bar fights, but there is no reason for her to have been able to grope him with zero consequences. This surgery will make a strong relationship stronger and a weak relationship fall apart. You need to get out of the mindset now that as soon as your skinny you are worth more, because thats bullshit! I am a fat, sassy, redheaded bitch, and lemme tell you, I have just as much right to life as any skinny bitch out there. I strongly urge you to love yourself. Do NOT let people treat you like a 2nd class citizen. From what I see in your profile pic, sugar, even if you "don't have knees" you are a beautiful woman, and deserve the respect and love, so start giving yourself that respect and love!

Being Umemployed After Sugery..?
ladyspl replied to preshiz pink's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I guess by technical standards, I am unemployed as in I do not leave the home to work. But lemme tell ya, being a stay at home mom of 3 under 6 is no vacation! Im hoping it will make the recovery time easier than having to worry about returning to work ASAP. -
I think of it as much as my husband thinks about sex..... I find myself staring at other women now, thinking "Wonder if that's what I will look like thin" or "I wonder if that outfit will be cute on me too".

Things You Don't Have To Worry About When Your Not Fat
ladyspl replied to Monique5005's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Just thought of another thing I wont have to worry about!!! We have an amusement park with a water world attached to it, in the city I live. Well, I haven't enjoyed anything other than the "Lazy river" since high school, due to my size. I am terrified of getting stuck in the tubes! The last time, and this is why it was my last time, I had to scoot myself down the whole tube and then jump off the end because I was to big to let the water push me down. The water couldnt push my fat behind down the slide. I never want to experience that shame again. After my surgery, this is the first thing I'm gonna do! LOL well, maybe not the first! -
Things You Don't Have To Worry About When Your Not Fat

I assure you, that fear has lingered for years now! LOL Especially at my "advanced maternal age" twins become more probable. Guess then we will have to go to 6 LOL. *my husband just said "ummm, yeah, about that...." Guess if twins happens, I'm SOL on the even number thing! -
Things You Don't Have To Worry About When Your Not Fat

Not needing to use the handicapped stall in the ladies room, just because you cannot maneuver in and around the toilet to shut the door in the regular stalls. I cant tell you how many times I have almost done a face plant swirly. Its sucks more when your little girls need to use the potty too and of course are too little to be alone, therefore you need the extra space. My daughters hate leaving the door to a regular stall open, however my size creates a new door and so no one can see them "do their business". I have one more little girl to potty train and that will be well past my surgery date, so hopefully no more mommy-as-the-bathroom-door. Speaking of kids and babies.....I know that its advised to wait 18-24 months post op before conceiving, and I will try to hold out that long. We already have 3 daughters and I, yes it sounds dumb but, need an even number. So being able to have a complete stranger know that you are pregnant and not "just fat" is something I hope to never worry about again. I was 9m pregnant before it was apparent that I wasnt "just fat". That tends to take the wind out of your sails. -
My Dr asked me what I weighed in high school, which was 124-132, for my height 5'2" I should be between, if I remember correctly, 109-119. He asked me my goal, to which I answered 130 and he said "we will start there". So he never gave me his number but apparently wasn't to off of my number. I calculated it out, at 232 now, to loose 102#s, I would be taking the equivalent of my 6 + 4 year olds. Looking at it in that perspective, makes me sick.

Playing devils advocate here but....I am a nervous blabber. Even things such as this that I also didn't want ANYONE to know about, I was riddled with anxiety over it and just got diarrhea of the mouth.... Perhaps thats what happened with him, and then to top it off he shoved his foot in his mouth when he realized how upset you were over it, by saying (the ever-so-bite-you-in-the-ass phrase) "Soon enough they will figure it out anyways" GRRRRRRR! As much as it pains me to admit this, but yeah, pretty much, people will figure it out. LET THEM TALK! This is definitely the time to thicken that skin sista! Work on direct responses that shut them down from the door. "Yes, I had a surgery that gave me back control over my (insert medical illness here), and as a result, I have been able to get my weight back in control too. Other than that, I am the same person, and am done discussing this." I think pulling a Star Jones about it, just gives people more ammunition to bust your chops and give you grief over it. Just quickly address it and move on. Hold your head high babe, you got this!

Woo Whooo Today's The Day!

Woohoo!!!! -
Super Jealous on the no pre-op 6m diet thing!!! But rock on sista with the August date!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yup, basically what pp's said. You fill out forms, talk about previous weight loss attempts, cover what your insurance requires, what the surgeon requires, etc. It took 2 months to get my inital consult, and although my insurance customer service wouldnt give me any details as to what was required for approval, I had a huge hunch that it would require a 6m PCP monitored diet, so I started it while I waited for initial consult, and whewf! boy was I happy to hear that I got 2 months down with only 4,technically now 3,, to go! YAY! If you do have to stick it out for a 6m diet, take it as time to change your responses to typical triggers. If,hypothetically, talking to your mom makes you want to eat the refrigerator, next time you talk to mom, stop, breathe, and then come here and vent vent vent. Doing this will become second nature and then bam! you have changed that bad behaviour!!!

Things You Don't Have To Worry About When Your Not Fat
ladyspl replied to Monique5005's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
ABSOLUTELY! Have you ever piled your vehicle sky high with stuff, either moving or going on vacation? You get horrible gas mileage! When you are not carrying around that extra weight, the vehicle performs closer to factory standards. Why wouldn't it count when we loose weight?! We, on average, all are here because we need to loose 100lbs or more, that is equivalent to carrying around another person in our vehicle. So, ixnay the "extra person" and get better gas mileage! Oh, and don't forget to properly inflate tires too :-) -
Things You Don't Have To Worry About When Your Not Fat

It seems the "older they are the worse they are" as far as father in laws go. They were the ones who said Marilyn Monroe was fat and gave us Twiggie, they were the ones who decided women should not be seen in public pregnant, giving us more abortions and/or kids with medical issues because mom had to wear that girdle while 9 months pregnant. Those men are from a fossil era and when they meet their maker, I hope she smacks them silly! August 12th will be my 12 year wedding anniversary. I think its kinda cool that we will Celebrate 12 years on the 12th, ok kinda dumb. Any-who...I really wished to be able to renew our vows and all that jazz, but since I wont see surgery until fall/winter I almost want to just skip this anniversary like it never happened. Oh and restaurants/banquet halls/bars/clubs...anywhere they like to pack in the tables and people like sardines....I get horrible anxiety either getting to our seat or leaving the seat, worrying who am I gonna shove into their table because my fat behind cant fit through the space between chairs. Or how high can I stand and walk on my tippy toes so that my fat is above the back of that chair, so I dont shove that person into their food. At the local childrens museum they have an exhibit of a cave, that ends with the kids getting to go down a slide to get out of it. yeah, talk about closterphobic! I want to be able to explore that cave and slide with my girls. OMG! No more extra baby powder under the fat rolls so that you don't smell like something the cat just drug in!! Also I dont know about you, but no more deodorant under the boobies! I hope then, the pimples go away from under the fat boobies too, bc thats quite embarassing. Worrying about weigh limits on things such as step ladders, trampolines (to play with the kids), elevators, hanging porch swings, etc BETTER GAS MILEAGE! LOL when we loose the weight, it is less weight on our vehicles tires, thus better gas mileage! -
Things You Don't Have To Worry About When Your Not Fat

*with tears in my eyes from both laughing and crying* I want all of those things and more! I want to stop being the fat wing girl for my single BF. I want to turn the lights on during sex with my husband. Hell, I want my libido back!!!! I hate being the trifecta of jokes...I have redhair, fairskin with freckles and am fat If you want to look like an adult you have to shop at Lane Bryant and spend $100 on jeans, else you go to walmart and whomever the jerk is who buys for their plus size department, clearly hates fat people. In what world does anyone who wears anything above large, automatically love Mickey and Tinkerbell? Because in the eyes of walmart, those are the only clothes large people wear. GRRRRRR I want to be able to sit "indian style" "pretzel legged" Dear God Grooming!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am sick of being the odd man out....I am the ONLY fat person in my circle of friends and family. ONLY. When I met my husband and started dating, I was 132, over the years and kids, that has changed. He loves me, this I know, but his father is a jerk. Ever since the 1st extra pound I put on, he makes snide comments whenever we are around. Things like "I have been the same size since the Navy" "Make sure those truck tires are inflated properly with all the extra weight youre carrying around" "I told your mother if she ever gained weight I would divorce her" Good thing my husband is a better man than his father. My soul wants to dance, but my body doesnt move like my heart wants me too. When this 100 pound person gets off my back, hubby and I are learning the tango and salsa and all those erotic latin dances! My number one goal, because we know the weight goes buh-bye from the top down, is that when this fat girl is skinny. I have 3 GF's and I that are getting us some new boobies! We have made a pact that once I am thin, we are all gonna go in the same day and get enlargements. Cant decide between Pam Anderson or Dolly Parton though...... -
Awesome!!!!

Ugggghhhh! Sounds like the bs I got from calling my ins!. Called 3x's asking for specifics and all they told me was 5year history and surgery at a center of excellence. Went to initial consult and was told a laundry list of requirements. So don't get discouraged, just get calling! LOL call anybody and everybody! LOL best of luck!

3 Weeks Before The Surgery...
ladyspl replied to carms's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Big hugs, but pp is right. Use it as ur all around fresh start. -
Response to Landensmommy10 Despite 3 calls to my insurance company asking for the requirements for WLS, they still did not give me the correct answer. So after meeting with the insurance coordinator Wed, I was smart to start the 6 month pcp diet 2 months ago, and actually had my 3rd weigh in on Thur, so thats a bonus. Since Dr is in Pittsburgh and I am in Erie (2.5 hour drive) Dr said its ok to have my Pulm, Card, Sleep testing and bloodwork done in Erie. I called to make those appointments and they require (not my insurance) me to get referrals from my Dr. Called surgeons office back, they told me the referral has to come from my PCP, now what sense does that make? GRRRR, but I called PCP and they will make the appointments for me, thank goodness. So all is going great. Looking like Nov/Dec-ish for the surgery, which I think is perfect. I have only told the mother in law and 1 BFF, so everyone else will get the "It's my new years diet" story. LOL

Ppl treat alcoholics and drug users better than the obese. We all have the same triggers we just use different mediums to get our own utopia. I have grown a very thick skin and an excellent use of sarcasm. So bring on the nay-sayers, I will be a triple threat when I'm thin. Smart, beautiful and thin.
-
Ppl suck! When u get thin, take a big group of ppl there, everyone sit down and wait. Then after 5m everyone leave. Tell them word of mouth is the best advertising tool available. Happy ppl tell 2 friends. Unhappy ppl tell 11. Then ask them if they need a calculator.

Green eyed monster of jealously right now!!! That is great news!

I'm so glad u posted this thread! I was thinking the same exact thing. Let's face it, shopping is uber fun and it can be a huge motivator to keep on the right track!

Dr. Gagne and his staff were great. I was treated with respect and not looked down upon. Glad I started my 6 month PCP supervised diet 2 months ago, to get the ball rolling. They also said its ok for me to have as much as the testing as I can done in Erie, rather than making so many additional trips to Pittsburgh. From what I gather from the insurance requirements, during my 5th month of the diet, provided all the other testing is completed, I will be able to schedule my surgery. Looking like December, and too me, minus having to drive in snow for 2.5 hours, is perfect. My plan was to not tell a soul about the surgery, just my amazing new "portion control" diet that was my new years resolution. LOL

Thanks :-) I'm ready
