I need a port question answered- I feel dumb for asking.
ibarra561 replied to cookielover's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I was banded in may 2006 and I still have that problem especially when I use high pants so when I bend, the port seem to be touched by the pant and it hurt, sometimes I feel like an electrical shock, but it is normal:wink2: -
Linda: I woke up at last night 12:30am, same like you...and since then I have been vomiting and breathing the vomit while I fall asleep. It has been a nightmare. This is the second time I have had slippage. The first time I had the band unfilled for 5 weeks and the slippage improved. But this time I'm considering in having it surgically corrected. I understand what you are going thru. I don't want to consider removing the band because I don't feel totally confident that I will keep my weight off...so I can not permanently unfill it either!! Where are you located? I'm in Tampa and I see a Doctor who is very nice, she does the fillings for a reasonable price Grecia

What weight for regular size clothing??

Don't compare your weight to others, your body is unique and built diffrent. I never ever compare my weight. Would you believe that I weight 200 pounds and I am size 12? YES! because I'm heavy. My feet are large, my hands are large! you may have skinny bones and at 200 pound you may be size 14 or 16. What is importrant here is the weight you feel happy on. The size you feel comfortable with. I'm ok in my size even when I am 200 pounds....the bottom line is that it is better that the size 22 I was before having my lap band and don't ask me what was my weight by then becasue it is not important. The only important thing here is that I lost weight or size (use only one of these meassure tools). I'm in a comfortable size 12 and feel better that ever. ALso let me tell you that as you get older you weight more even if you are the same size. I'm 46, but I was also size 12 when I was 30 but at that time I weight 170 pounds, so many factors can affect your weight/size. Good luck!:clap2: -
Ladies: Don't feel discouraged. I also had times were I would eat meat. I have had 2 fills, one 4 weeks after and the last one 4 months after. I still had a lot of restriction until I had a slipagge, for which I had to unfill it and fill it back a month later

i don't think you did any damage to your pounch, and if you did...don't worry, go back to your 3/4 and it will get back to the desired size, anyway it is a muscle it will reduce its size -
believe it or not, that is what I'm also eating (I used to eat 2500 to 3000 Kcal)

By chance...I moved to Tampa

Wendy: I also move from St Louis 6 months ago. I have a wonderful doctor here. Dr. Sandra French. She is great. Your symptoms are very similar to mine. I had a slippage and could not sleep. I would have vomits and bronchoaspiration during the nights. She unfilled the band and filled back again a month later. It fixed the problem. Now I have the same problem again due to a stomach flu, I had vomits and my band moved again. I was unfilled few days ago and I should have it fill again in 3 weeks.

What weight for regular size clothing??
ibarra561 replied to KarenG.'s topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
MMMhhh: I started on 270 pounds, size 22 banded in May 06. Now I'm 187 pounds, size 12. I hope I can have a body lift very soon so I can drop to size 10 and stay there! -
Have you thought about a slip?
-
It happens when you eat more than what your capacity. It is due to expansion of the upper part of the stomach

OK...so I see now! for the explantion yo just gave I realized that my band slipped.I have been having a lot of regurgitation and brochoaspiration and got into this site in search of answers...
