What I Will Miss The Most

From what I was told coffee is acidic not good for your pouch and CAN but not always cause ulcers. But you can drink regular coffee 8 oz at a time 1 time a day wan then flush with Water the rest of the day and you will be fine. THAT was what my doctor told me. And every doctor says some thing different. I love French vanilla creamer I can not give up. But 60 calories a day in 8oz of coffee. Hope it does not kill me. That's my only cheat and will be my only cheat. Soda gone for ever candy gone all the bad stuff gone. I don't cheat Becuse I'm afraid of going back to being fat and I love the way I'm starting to look. Surgery Anniversary 7/30/12

    Sleeve Vs. Rny

After a lot of Reserch between the sleeve and by pass I went with by pass For me. Only you can that chose which surgery is for you and what you wish to accomplish. You doctor will have his opinion. I have found in my Reserch that people that have lap band or sleeve done come back in 3-5 years and have RNY done. Is there a gastric support group around your area they would love for you to come sit in on a session. There you can talk to people that have had the surgery both sleeve lap band, and RNY. They are also very help full in the support area to. As far as after surgery you will feel some pain for a few days baring any complications, and depending on your job you could be back to work in as little as two weeks. You won't feel hungry some times food will make you sick. You have to drink 48-64 oz of Water a day get in 60-100 g of Protein a day walk at first then join a gym and exersice. I just started cross fit training which is a total body work out, you may want to start looking at gyms and fitness programs now. See if your insurance company will pay for all or part. Did I have regrets after surgery NO I did this for Heath resons I was on 11 Med's befor surgery to treat everything from high blood pressure to Diabites type 1 12 weeks post op I'm off all Med's my blood sugared are now normal on high blood pressure I have lost 64 lbs and have 60 more to go. So yes it works but you have to make it work it's not easy it's flat out hard and it's a life long commitment. Hope I answerd your questions any more just post them to this Fourm and some one will answer them for you. There are a lot of very smart people that are living Becuse of WLS and living better then they ever could have thought myself included Surgery Anniversary 7/30/12

  18. Not my words but I have been reserching what I was told and so far I don't know what to Belive there are so many different opinions on what Protein does it will make your head swim. Remember this was told to me by a gym rat muscle head who eats sleeps and breaths weight training and is a RNY success story 5 years ago he was 425 ibs to day he could kick Arnold Schwarzeneggers but the man has a BMI of 4 yes I said BMI 4. So Belive what you want I'm still taking in 60-100g a day. What have you read or been told ???? ************************************************************************************************************************ The biggest protein myth is that you can only digest 30 grams of protein at one time. Find out what's wrong with this belief and just how much protein you need. This is a common question. I also get variations such as, how much protein can you digest at one time? There are two ways to answer this, because there really two questions being asked. How much protein can the digestive system physically absorb into the bloodstream from a meal? THE MORE IMPORTANT QUESTION... How much protein can you body actually utilize? The answers... About 95% and higher, unless you have some type of digestive system malfunction. So if you get convinced by supplement companies to drink a 42g Protein shake in 5 minutes, you'll still probably absorb at 38 or more grams of that protein. Your muscle growth is not limited by the amount of protein you can DIGEST or ABSORB. Your muscle growth IS LIMITED by the amount of protein that your body can utilize for protein synthesis. So the answer to #2... A lot less than you think. You really don't need 40, or 30, or probably even 20g of protein per meal to keep your protein synthesis humming along. Any protein that your body can't use for growth will be shuttled into a process where it is broken down (de-aminated: meaning the nitrogen is removed from the molecule and it becomes a carbon skeleton) to be used in energy pathways. Now, there are benefits for eating extra protein (in my opinion) when dieting, mainly that it helps to suppress appetite. But the bottom line to the question I am asked almost everyday is... A. Your body can digest and absorb almost all of the protein you eat without problem. B. Your muscles can only do so much with protein...the muscle growth process is RARELY, if ever limited by the amount of protein we consume. Almost all of us can easily get enough protein for maximum muscle growth without the need for eating 50g of protein 6 times per day. Ronnie Coleman, Jay Cutler, and Gunter Schlerkcamp excluded, of course. Overall, I'd think twice about the need to slam down a 40-50g protein shake 3 times per day... Just think of the children and puppies you'll save by not gassing them out with protein farts. Surgery Anniversary 7/30/12
