One day I started having pain in the center of my chest did not want to eat. Everything I did eat went down hard and did not sit well. Frist thing I thought was gallbladder. Went and saw RNY doctor she ask if I was having trouble eating (yes) did it hurt to drink Water (yes) did the pain go under my right breast (no) she pressed on my abdomon and then told me I had a ulcer. They put me back on acid blockers gave me a crip for ulcer Med's and sent me home. It took only 2 days for the Med's to start to work with in a week you would never know I had a ulcer. My doctor did not like to call them ulcers but called them a wound where a staple in my pouch was getting infected Becuse of acid. Once back on acid blockers and ulcer Med's that cover the pouch from acid I feel fine. Maybe you should call your RNY doctor and see what he/she thinks Hope you feel better soon Surgery Anniversary 7/30/12

3 Years Post Op And Need Support
PaulB replied to LisaMiller's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Not trying to be mean just trying to give tough love. 10 weeks after surgery I blowed out the 1 of the 6 plate that held my leg together for the last 6 years and had to have emergency surgery. I was told by doctors that it would be 6-8 weeks befor I could go back to the gym ans work out. 3 weeks later I'm back in the gym working out and losing weight. Now I know you are not me and I understand your pain but you can't let this side line you from all the great weight loss you have had. Going back and do what made you lose the weight in the begining drink the protein drinks go back to 2-3 oz of food at a time 5-6 times a day. There is upper body exercise that you can do to help and even with a hip replacement or repair the doctors must want you to walk. Start out slow and build from there. And keep us posted we are here for you sorry if this sounds mean its not ment that way. For 6 years I have lived with pain in my right leg from a drunk that crushed it when he ran me over having WLS has made the world of difference the weight is off my leg and it feels 200% better and getting better every day Surgery Anniversary 7/30/12 -

That and food you used to love and give comfort will now not love you back. Surgery Anniversary 7/30/12

Hate to bust In on the lady's room but have you tryed upping your calorie intake a 100 or so points. When I take in less then 800 I don't lose weight when I take in more then 800 I lose weight. And it's a struggle to get in 800 calories. If all fails try Cross fit trainning if that does not kill you you may lose a few more lbs. Surgery Anniversary 7/30/12

Try mixing in a little garlic and sour cream makes mashed cauliflower even better Surgery Anniversary 7/30/12

Everyone losses at a different pace. Some people that have less to lose do so at a slower pace then those that have a lot to lose. Don't worrie that someone is lossing faster then you it will come off. Stay off the scale just 1 time a week or you will be disappointed with what you see and cut back on your food intake. This is not good don't put your body in to starvation mode you won't lose any weight. Your body will hold on to what ever you eat. Besides the scale may not move but your body is still changing, ie like your rings are lose your pants hang low your shirts are baggy. Even your shoes don't fit right any more . iT WILL COME OFF give it time. 19 lbs or 30 lbs in 3 weeks WAY TO GO keep it up Surgery Anniversary 7/30/12

Your abdomen muscles where cut and stitched back together what your feeling is normal. If how ever it continues pleas call your doctor. I had the same pain on my left side and it did go away Surgery Anniversary 7/30/12

My doctor recommend not drinking Becuse the alcohol is now digested in the small intestines which will absorb the alcohol much faster thus giving you a buzz faster then normal. That and the fact that alcohol is a bad habit that will lead to other bad habits that will lead to weight gain and then frailer at WLS. For me that scares the hell out of me I don't want to be FAT ever again. So if it means giving up beer, soda, candy, fatting foods I'm ok with that. I love the way I'm looking and haven't been this light in 40 years. Surgery Anniversary 7/30/12

Hubby Thinking Its The "easy Way"
PaulB replied to joyaskins34's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I wish skinny people would learn before they open their mouths and say some thing STUPID. Think this is the easy way out try eating what I eat try feeling the way I feel at times. Try working out till you want to cry from the pain but know you can't quite. Try being scared to fail so you can say see I told you so. Think this is easy try walking in my shoes before you pass judgement. After that then you can have your opinion till then SHUT UP and SUPPORT ME Surgery Anniversary 7/30/12 -
Who Did You Tell Ptior To Your Surgery
PaulB replied to glennr's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
My co- workers and company have been behind me and have supported me on this Journy to better health. We have had 2 other people go though WLS so the company know that it works for both them selfs and the worker that is now not losing time from work and is much healthier. Some of my co workers now call me a frail old man after losing 68 lbs. Ok I can live with that. Surgery Anniversary 7/30/12 -
Take him to the support group meeting with you. So he can see people that have had WLS and ask questions don't be afraid. Knowledge is a wonderful thing and will help him to support you and understand that when you get thin you won't be leaving him cheating on him, and he can help you though the tuff times that you will be facing. This is no easy way out it HARD and we need all the help we can get. My wife and I go to support group meetings every month before and after surgery there we have meet people that are 2-8 years post op and still come to the meetings. Reserch Reserch Reserch. And ask questions. Post them here and some one or everyone will do there best to give you great advice. Listen to what your doctor tells you. Good luck on your new Journy Surgery Anniversary 7/30/12
