Rice is full of carbs. We have a saying at group support it goes ( if it's white it's not right) white bread, white rice, potatos, Pasta. All bad for you to many carbs and your body will stop breaking down Fat and just work on breaking down carbs that take so much longer to break down. It's better to work on getting in Protein and veggies. As for Chinese I love it and have had it 1 time since surgery 13 weeks ago it was fabulous all 2 oz of it. The only bad part was it was so sweet it raised my blood sugars really high Surgery Anniversary 7/30/12

Number 7 we all have gone though what you are feeling. And it will go way when your standing in front of the mirror and you see the change, or someone tells you your looking HOT. Then you remember why you did this to your self and understand you can live your life and not need JUNK food. Surgery Anniversary 7/30/12

3 Years Post Op And Need Support
PaulB replied to LisaMiller's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I work out at the YMCA Becuse it's the only gym in 20 miles from my house. I keep saying this would be a great town for a planet fitness or a snap fitness there is nothing. They have everything I need to work out but I make to much money so I pay full price $46.50 a month you bet I'm spending every spear min at the YMCA. You may want to try cross fit training you can do it at home and you workout at your own pace. You can also customize it to your needs. Surgery Anniversary 7/30/12 -
Not everyone skin can hold white it's best to have a test spot done. If It won't hold you can have it filled in later with some other color.my self my skin holds white. But I have a allergy to red vegetable ink I can use it but it takes longer to heal. I have two scars on my left arm that why I got my sleeve done on the left arm ,and so far no problem with color holding on my scars. I would say it was more tender but was worth the pain. Its my understanding that real tattoo artist don't like to tattoo over scars Becuse they are more tender than normal skin and some people can't take the pain. Those are the words from my tattoo guy I'm getting filler work done today and ask that question. His words if your tattoo artist won't tattoo your scar find a better tattoo artist. One that won't tattoo you if your under the influence of drugs or alchol or just had any major surgery. My guy made me wait 10 weeks befor he would touch me. He's not saying your guys bad just no reson not to tattoo over scars it has been done for 100 of years to cover up scars. Surgery Anniversary 7/30/12

Not Trying To Be A Downer But?

She's right but there is still no guarantee that you will be diabetic free. My mother in law is so upset that she is not diabetic free after surgery she is not on insulin any more just oral Med's but hay she has lost a lot of weight and looks good. For me I will always have to watch my blood sugars Becuse it runs in the family and I have been the unlucky one to have gotten it at a early stage in life around 20 years old when I was in shape and really health. You will be suprised with the transformation after surgery, you will be able to chase that 5 year old around and live longer and watch him grow up and maybe see more grand kids in the future. That's my plan to watch my 12 year old boy grow up and have kids of his own. You are headed in the right direction Surgery Anniversary 7/30/12 -

Not Trying To Be A Downer But?
PaulB replied to OleHippieGal's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
You may have something there. My endo said she could live with one less patient . Go figure. You sound like your what we call a diabetic light where it's not that hard for you to hit low blood sugars. Where I had a hard time with insulin just getting my numbers down to 200 . My endo wanted me on a insulin pump. Glad your not as bad as I was but this surgery has turned my world around and every day I wonder why I waited so long to have it. My 12 year old loves that dad can now play ball and have the energy to try and keep up with him. You to will see the difference after your surgery and wonder to why you waited so long Surgery Anniversary 7/30/12 -

How Has Gastric Bypass Surgery Effected Your Marriage?
PaulB replied to katiethone64's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
My wife was on board from the git go and has been my rock. She watches out that I'm getting enough of the healthy stuff and not slip and cheat. She is always looking for good health stuff for me to eat she makes me walk when I'm tired. And the love life has never been this good. I'm not afraid she will leave me and she knows I'm not going anywhere. She is My Love My life My Soul I feel bad for those that have spouses that are that stuck up on them selfs or are just afraid for the future. Do they think that WLS will change the way we love them (NO) what changes is their attitude towards our weight loss. It's like they want us fat and unhealthy to make them feel better about them selfs. Surgery Anniversary 7/30/12 -
Yes hit the gym I was a gym rat befor my accident and have returned to the gym after WLS I love the feeling or should I say the buzz I get from working out the days I can't go to the gym I walk 3 Miles . You sound like you got the program down and know what needs to be done. You sound like you are ready for your life to change for the better and you will succeed Becuse you are informed. That Gives you a higher chance of succeeding and reaching your target weight. Everyone on this Fourm will be cheering you on and here for support all you have to do is ask. Any questions just ask. Ther are a lot of very smart people on here that have been though WLS and have succeeded to their target weight. We could always use one more person on the losers team. Remember NO PAIN NO LOSS Surgery Anniversary 7/30/12

From somebody that has spent 50-75 hours sitting in a tattoo chair having a sleeve done pleas don't be in a rich to get that back or side tattoo till you see how much hanging skin you will have.and if you are planning on plastic surgery you may want to wait till after that surgery and use the tattoo to cover the scar. Just my thoughts. this just the lower half of my left arm The last pic is the start of the upper half of my left arm a work in progress Surgery Anniversary 7/30/12

Some (but not all) doctors and Insurance company's require you to do supervisor weight loss for up to 6 months. I'm not saying live it up for later you will pay. But now is the time before your First doctors visit. Becuse after that they will be watching you. They will require you to see a phycolegist and maybe have a sleep study done.if you smoke they will want you to Quite. Hope you are ready for a life change Becuse that's what will happen for the better of course. I'm 13 weeks post op and wish I had done this years ago. Day of surgery I was 290 10/30 I'm 221 lbs that's 69 lbs 56 lbs to target weight. Hope I didn't scare you not trying WLS is not the answer to weight loss but is the key to better health that you will spend the rest of your life fighting. Good luck on your new Journy we need all the losers we can get here on this Fourm Surgery Anniversary 7/30/12
