Told a few friends and close family but they already knew my health was bad becuse of the diatetes and I need something to put me back on track the diabetic drugs where not working any more even insulin.so this is kinda my last ditch thing

Thank to everyone for your response I will miss everything . But to get health for my little boy and watch him grow up I would give up everything. 23 days and counting till surgery

Great job six weeks out Way to Go We have this great pool in the back yard that we do walking and swimming laps in to get ready for my Augest 1 surgery. Problem is doc said no pool for 6 weeks after surgery. Its great exercise and have drop 11 pounds in the last month doing it. Keep up the good work all we have to lose is weight.

30 Long day and counting got pre-op testing next week the personal dr after that for surgical release then pre-op screening,Then I got Chiropractor then Urologist appt.and then the big date August 1 surgery. Don't time fly when we are having FUN PS don't want to forget the pre-op diet the that wonderful Magnesium Citrate Yummmm 5 days before surgery .cant wait

Mami sorry to hear of your husbans love for you (I'm sure he does love you) but what a way to say it. I do most of the cooking my wife loves to do laundry she hates dishes . We all work together and our house with down to 2 kids now is still a mess. But my life would not be complet with out her support and love. She has done more for this surgery and learning about it then I have.I don't get it when spouses don't wat us to Change or help when we do.

You are do just fine Education is the answer. And the waiting part is the hardest part I'm 39 days from surgery and everyday is a week. But as they say who ever they are say all good thing take time. This forum and everybody on it are here for you just ask

Take everthing you hear and read with a grain of salt. Read all believe nothing. And then do as your heart tells you. You are doing the right thing. Research your doctor and your hospital get the facts learn take someone close to you for support if not for my wife and kids I would not be doing this. And know that you are on the road to a better you for your little one that needs mommy . This forum has help me a lot and it will help you Good luck with your new journey

TO all spouses Please support us we are going though a very trying time in our life when we choose to finally take control of our bad eating habits and do something positive. We know you are afraid for us don't be come learn with us and help us past this trying time in our life's in the long run we will all be better for it. Support us and be by our side for we to are afraid of the unknow. I will be 52 years old July 26. My surgery is on the 1 of August . Years ago I wanted this surgery but was afraid of change. Now I have to have surgery to save my life for I have ruined my health with my bad eating habits. I have been Diabetic for 30 years. And need to change and becuse of my wife and kids I'm 39 days from surgery they have been my rock have push me to go on. My daughter is even changed her major in collage as a chef in culinary to include A minor in nutrition . The moral of this story is get behind your spouse and SUPPORT us PLEASE we do need your help if you are going to be afraid be afraid we us becuse we are afraid to

Ask your husband to go with you to all your doctor appointments and he will learn along with you. Then he will be behind you 100% Good luck

So you husband wants you unhappy and unhealthy. Wow what love he has for you. And I'm sure he does love you and is some what scared of what he does not understand. My wife and daughter & son are more excited about the life change then i am . And can't wait to have a skinny daddy. And a health daddy that will be around for a long time. August 1st is my surgery date just got it today. The next 6 weeks are going to be long.

Just think of it as a head start on what you need to lose and good luck with your surgery

ITs been a long road to this day.I have only had 2 operations in my 51 years 1 when my wife had me neutered . The 2nd was the Endocopy for this surgery.being a big bad ass truck driver it scares the crap out of me.All I can think of is what IF.but know everything will turn out fine. Thanks to this forum. I have been reading all the post.And everyone here make this a lot more easy to take. THANK YOU It can't come fast enough at 51 I have been a type 2 diabetic for all most 30 years. My doctor says I should be on a insulin pump the oral med are not working any more and no new one are on there way.If I do insulin I can't drive Becuse of DOT rules I have been a truck driver for 34 years this is why my doctor is pushing gastric bypass even though I'm only 100 lbs over what ever they want to call it.
