Sugar free jello,Carnation instant breakfast (no sugar added) sugar free pudding,buy good broth with low sodium and sugar free drink mix. That's my diet till 8/14/12 when I hope I can move to purée stage

Nobody can tell you what this surgery is going to be like for you. We all have to experience it for our selfs. My wife and I read everything we could about RNY did the YouTube thing talk to people that have went though it. After all that I was not ready for this and don't think you can be. The one big thing I did befor surgery was to join a Bariatric support group they meet every week. They have help me understand that I have a food addiction and are helping me to learn to control my addiction not let it control me anymore. We need food to live. We do not live to eat . Not every one will want to go to support group do what ever works for you this Fourm has help me out Alot and I know I'm not alone here . I must also give My wife a big hug for the support that she is giving me on this Journy. She is My Love My Life My Soul on top of that she has lost 11 Lbs on this Journy just helping me.

I have no desire for food at all . Surgery date 7/30/12 My big pouch rumbles but I was told that it would do that till my brain got the signal that it was not in control any more. Do cravings count I did have a dream about a sub sandwich all 1/2 inch of it and yucky Kraft Mac & Cheese that was 13 days ago nothing lately . Try to get your Protein in the rest will come in time

Straws don't bother anyone with to much air. My doctor said to say away from straws Becuse you take in to much air. Or is that just for a short time after surgery. Everybody here sounds like its not bothering them. Make me wonder

I started counting from pre surgery weight. I was in hospital for 4 day and they gave me 9 bags of Ringers Lactate IV so when I came home I was 16 lbs more then when I went in. 14 day post surgey I'm down 14 lbs from pre surgey weight Your doing great keep up the good work

I understand where you are coming from I'm 13 days post op and my brain and big pouch are telling me I'm hungry. We need to understand that we are addicted to food and that it will take a long time to retrain our selfs to live with out food as a crutch. Last week I was at the braking point I needed food but with my wife there to kick my butt and the people on this Fourm and along with my support group I got over it. There are all kinds of people here to help and to listen just ask. Support groups are not for everyone check in your area .they help me to understand that I am addicted to food and are helping me to cope with out food as my crutch Hang in there and remember why you went though RNY Stay strong and good luck it gets better.

That is what I have been told and not by anyone that removes tattoos just hear say. So I may just be wrong about that Can't Belive everything you hear. Never wanted any of my tattoos removed

Every body reacts different I was in hospital for 4 days just something my doctor does. For a day or two after surgery I felt crappy and then it passed You just had major surgery your body needs time to heal you should be alright soon if not contact your Doctor Good luck

Want to have color put in but my tattoos guy is afraid my body won't heal right just 13 days after surgery,and would like me to wait and see what doctor says.have maybe 20 hours of work left to compleat my sleeve My only advices to anyone wanting a tattoo Reserch your tattoo shop and the artist check out his work and know what you want. It cost more to have a bad tattoo removed then it is to get a new one. Laser removed tattoo cost up to 900 an inch

Kind of makes all you have been though worth it. Keep up the good work. It just gets better

I feel your pain. But you must remember why we did this to our selfs. Are you going to support group meetings. Last week I was at the breaking point my support group and this Fourm help me stay on track. We all need help every now and then. Don't be afraid to ask we are here for you

Food is a social crutch that we have to get pass to be health just look around and see all the restaurant. As for social groups I have never been one to be worried about impressing people.(I am what I am). The only people that I need to impress is my wife and son and myself Do what's right for you and your new life

To day I tried decaf coffee with sugar-free franch vanilla creamer it was ok. So maybe every blue moon I will have regular coffee and treat my self for lossing more weight

As anyone experienced their blood sugars rising with whey powder I have no problem taking in protein just wonder I'm I taking in to much. I'm still on a liquid diet and everything I take in is sugar free so Whey Powder can be the only thing. Maybe I should try a day with out and see what happen. And light headed andbody have that problem to.some say it may indicate that I need nutrient ?

Want to come over and help with my honey doo list. My surgery was 7/30 feeling great walking about 2 1/2 - 3 miles a day and getting bored doc won't send me back to work for 4 more weeks should have list done by then. Good luck and keep up the good work

We are all addicted to food or we would not of had this surgery. I to want to eat and know that it's my brain telling me that and not the small pouch. All my reading and what the Doctors say is that it could take up to 18 months for you to retrain your brain and the signals your old pouch send to your brain. Be strong join a support group in your area. I have been to them before my surgery and just went to my first one last night after surgery.its kind of like this Fourm only face to face with people that are going though the same thing, and help you understand why you are addicted to food and what you can do about it. Be strong (I can't see doing this again)

I didn't use the pain pump for my surgery that part was great lots of gas but walking help that and I walk a lot. To tell the truth I'm suffering with a bad shoulder that needs surgery as well. One surgery at a time and maybe this surgery will relive the pain in my shoulder( keep my fingers crossed) so for the day and a half I had the pump I mashed the button every hour my shoulder never felt better. 11 days later back to reality it hurts again oh well. I have lived with this pain for 2 years so I'm no big baby.my wife hates me for this Becuse I don't complain about my pain till its to late. Everyone is different if you need the pain pump use it the hospital will cut you off befor it becomes a habit

IM still on a liquid diet till 8/14. My question has anyone gotten to the point they just had to have something besides jello or sugar free pudding. I'm 5 days away from purée. If you cheated what food did you cheat with ?

My doctor won't let me back to work for 6 weeks Becuse of my job I drive a tractor trailer and have to pull my self up into the back to close over head doors. So my wife and kids are doing a staycation this year. Some activitys I can't join in but I can walk and have fun with the family. Besides my daughter starts back to collage next week along with my wallet I'll miss my wallet.LOL

I was ask by hospital staff to stop wondering the halls. They even come looking for me 3 times. I used the pain pump at bed time to help me sleep which I don't do very well any ways (4-5 hours ) is all I can sleep. One other person had RNY the same day as mine and they had all they could do to get her to walk the length of the nurses station. The doctor did say walk walk walk and sip sip sip water
