Seriously, acne and wrinkles!
PaulB replied to michkhzouz's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Here I thought I was the only one reliving my teen age years. Doctor says to clean really well dry well. And if you have really big sores see your doctor and let them treat you so they have a record of your problems and can make the insurance cover you tummy tuck because of medical needs. You didn't hear that from me -
I hate the temptation but I have worked to hard and come to far to slack off or cheat. Stay strong we can live with out If you do then remember to work extra hard in the gym

Your doing good just one piece of advice stay off the scale only weight your self 1 time a week there is a Friday weigh in forum here post your weight there. Other wise you may become disappointed with what the scale is reading and you will stop eating and put your body into starvation mode. NOT GOOD. I learned the hard way just trying to help out others. It took a while to learn and who would have thunk that to lose weight you would have to eat.(and its hard) to eat when you feel full all the time. And your weight will slow down from time to time. Just keep working on it you will do fine . Congrats on your journey don't go back
-
The waiting is the hard part. Then comes the pre op liquid diet (called hell week) then after surgery you won't want to eat. Then months down the road you will have to force your self to eat just to keep losing the weight. ( did you ever think there would be a time in your life that you would have to eat to lose weight) then you have to get rid of all your old close and start buying new stuff( here's where salvation arm come in to play) then you stand in front of the mirror and love the way you look. Who would have thunk.we would have done this years ago. Good luck on your new journey and may approval come soon

Are you using myfitnesspal to track your food and calorie count? Are you getting in enough calories to few and your in starvation mode. I know it's hard but you have to try and get in a min of 800 calories a day. I have days that I have all I can do to get in 400-500 calories And don't kill your self over how much weight you have lost. Everyone losses at their own pace. hang in there the weight will come off.

Research everything. That question has been ask here before and everyone has Their opinion. In the end you and your doctor are the only one who can decide. My opinion you won't be happy with the sleeve go with the Bypass. What ever you decide will be the best decision you will ever make for your health and love ones. Good luck

3 months post op Highest weight 305 Day of surgery 290 Cw 219 Day of surgery I was on 11 different meds doctor wanted me on a Insulin pump my A1C was 10.9 I had high blood pressure, gout, acid reflux, bad knees and a bad leg, my back hurt all the time as well as my feet Hell I hurt all over. My waist was 46-48 . To day I'm down 86 lbs from the start of my journey 71 lbs from surgery and my A1C just came back at 6.0. Today I'm wearing pants that are 38 waist I went from a 2x-3x shirt today I'm wearing a large to XL. My trainer at the gym has grounded me from the weight room till I can do 1 hour of cardio what good is muscle if your heart quits working. I'm off all 11 meds don't need Insulin and I feel GREAT my back, my knees, my feet don't hurt any more. I do like the way I'm looking and so does my wife. Would I do this again NO because I'm not getting FAT ever again. Would I recommend this to any one YES I WOULD it's the best thing you could ever do for your self and the ones you love. 56 lbs to target weight

Friday Weigh-In!
PaulB replied to KevinsBabyGirl85's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Good and bad this week I gains 1 lb to 219 and my trainer said I had to stop weight training till I could do 1 hour of cardio. I think he's jealous I'm spending more time in weight room then him. But he's right building muscle is nothing if you if your heart blows up on you. More good news is that I have gone from a 46-48 waist to a 38 waist have lost over 10 inch on my waist I now have Bat wings so I'm learning to fly. And my diabetes is gone my A1C just came back 6.0 -
Don't let a bad start slow you down in the long run you will feel so much better. Welcome to the group

Has Anyone Had Problems Sleeping 2 Weeks Post-Op?
PaulB replied to theby_88's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have had the same problem after surgery and coming of pain Med's Do you use a C-PAC when you sleep if so you may need to have your machine adjusted or you may not need it any more. But sounds like your body is trying to adjust to what you just went though. Call your doctor and tell he/her maybe they can help Surgery Anniversary 7/30/12
