Shouldn't be a problem my doctor and surgeon both knew about me having IBS and still recommended surgery for me. Matter of fact it was used as way to get my surgery approved threw insurance company.

2 Days Post Op
Michelle96 replied to Kayla Theriot's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was in hospital for 5 days and I didn't have any liquids by mouth till I got home. It was like torture mentally but when i got home i was fine I took small sips it was weird at first but got used to it. -
We are overseas stationed in England hubby's military. I have only told a few friends back in the states and my parents. I told my boss and a few friends here as well some of my English coworkers were a bit crappy, but there jerks anyway. I haven't posted it full on but I bet I'd feel better if I did. I did run into a woman a few weeks ago that I started the process with and she was really rude she started out wow you look great then it was I decided not to have that surgery cause I love my family and don't want to die. She went on to tell me I can't take meds and if I get sick I could die. It took all I had to be professional we were at the school. I smiled and softly said I think you might have your information confused but this isn't for everyone and left it at that but boy I was fuming inside.

Post Op Question How Much Did You Lose In The Initial 6 Months After Surgery?
Michelle96 replied to Mrs.D's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I've lost 70 and i'm 4 months out -
I'm in the UK and my doctor said 3 weeks liquid anything that go's down the straw,3 weeks puréed and 3 weeks soft and so on. After the first week I was to start protein shakes and they are suppose to be the ones with no sugar or limited amount of sugar. While in soft stage I was to start taking all those lovely vitamins. I don't like the protein shakes so I don't drink them religiously but I do take my vitamins my skin, hair and nails weren't looking to great. I had to cut hair into different style due to hair loss so I take a vitamin for it. Oh and doc told me no whites that's pasta, rice, bread and sugar. It is crazy how many different things we are told, just do what's right for you.

Don't panic they just have to make sure everything's okay before they do that surgery. Believe me you don't want to have anything else going on while your recooping from surgery. Have you been eating different? Stress too can cause issues. Make sure you talk to doctor tell him your concerns.

One of the lady's I met here threw surgery has the Philsbury sugar free cakes and icing she even found a brownie mix. Me personally I think if I started eating that stuff again it would be a gateway drug and I'd eat more and more sweets. I am terrified to mess this up and put all this hard work to shame. So I have a chocolate mousse made by jello temptations it's fat free and sugar free 60 calories and it's premeasured cups if I'm feeling super bad I add a table spoon of fat free cool whip on top. That's my sweet treat if I need it. I love to bake and I still bake for family and friends I just remind myself that I don't need those things anymore. Don't worry we all have a good cry, food was a big part in our lives. I love food but I'm not gonna let it control me anymore I'm in charge!

You all look amazing, I bet your feeling amazing too!

Don't get frustrated it will happen stress doesn't help and you shouldn't be watching those scales like a volcher. Drink your fluids, if you don't drink enough your body will hold on to it so drink drink drink. Walk as much as you can but don't hurt yourself. The weight will fall off, you got to remember when we were in hospital they pumped us full of liquids so when we got home we were dropping water weight first. I know it's hard to be patient but just have Alittle faith if your doing what doctor said you'll loose the weight.

I do yoga/Pilates, Zumba, run on track, walking, weights and machines and cuircut training I make myself workout at least 3 days a week but I normally do Monday threw Friday. I feel great when it's done, I'm loving my new found energy after loosing some weight.

After the first few I was like yuck this is torture. I have them now and then but dread it. I wouldn't stock up on one kind I'd try a few different ones.
-
You'll do great just be positive and we'll be here waiting to hear from you!
-
My doctor said I had to wait 8 weeks at least so I was a walking fool, if I couldn't do anything else I was gonna walk.
-
That's awesome your doing so good! Keep up on those little sips.
-
Unfortunately this brings out the haters not just friends but spouses and other family too. I myself have only lost a few friends but they weren't worth keeping any way. You need positive people around you that will be there for those ups and downs. I wish you all the luck in the world!

Thank's y'all, it's a good feeling for sure. I love looking at people's before and after pics it's amazing how this surgery changes lives.

Before surgery at 285 and yesterday 218 4 months post op.
-
Looking great y'all!

I can't eat chicken either and I'm 4 months out. But I can eat steak, hamburger, pork and tuna.
-
I eat steak now but I'm 4 months out. I cut it into small pieces and I chew the hell out of it otherwise I'll get sick. If I were you I'd try something else I wouldn't go out to eat for steak if you haven't had it yet, or order something else.
