Weight At A Stand Still
BBdoodle replied to NurseTAB's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Can I join the club too !!!! My weight has been the same for the past month and a half . I too follow diet, exercise like crazy, get my protein and water in. The scale has just not moved and I am getting really freaked out. However, pants that were tight are now loose so something other than the scale moving downward is happening. I am OK with it because weight is just a number that is easily to get obsessed with. I am still positive that it has to move again at some point... geezzzz I work out a a hour and a half most days, jog 2 miles, speed walk, eliptical, run with my dogs etc. etc. eat all the right foods etc. I even increased the intesity of my workouts and wear a heart monitor to make sure I am in the fat burning zone... please scale move just a bit.. please !!!! -
Yeah Dawn.... go for it !!! This was the best thing I ever did If I knew insurance paid for this surgery I would have done it a long time ago. Good luck and stay strong !!!

When Can I Sleep In My Stomach?
BBdoodle replied to number 7's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I think it all depends on you and what you can tolerate. I could finally sleep on my stomach about 4 wks post op. If it hurts too much I would not do it. -

I went thru bouts of deperassion at first, I missed the food !!! is passes and you find much more productive things to do instead of eating like workign out -
Cholecystectomy Yesterday
BBdoodle replied to aleyampat's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had my gallbladder removed 10 wks after my RNY - arrrghhhh that was the worst !!! I was feeling really good and recovering nicely from RNY and BAM was hit with a horrible gall bladder attack that felt like a heart attack. How far out from your RNY surgery did you have your cholecystectomy? -

First Day Back To Work
BBdoodle replied to NurseTAB's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I went back to work a week after surgery but I work at a desk and worked 1/2 day in the office and 1/2 day at home so it was easy. But standing on your feet and working 12 hour shifts is tough even when you are not healing from surgery !!!! I think sometimes you have to ease yourself back into that type of schedule not just go from resting and recouping to a full blow work schedule. Take your time and heal.. Are you getting in your protein ? -
Are Popcorn And Corn A No No?
BBdoodle replied to cmarie317's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My surgeon said NO CORN after surgery because you cannot digest. I am 6 months post op and have been eating corn for about the past month or so with no problem. I also had popcorn but I had a hard time getting it down and I was a bit uncomfortable, it just did not feel right going down. I'm not a big fan of popcorn anyway so no big loss. -

Just Got Out From The Hospital And Taking It Slow
BBdoodle replied to number 7's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Awesome... its great that you are doing so well. Keep up the good work and follow your doctors instruction. Also, I did really well as you after surgery.... BUT .... don't push yourself. Take time to heal and rest. You body just went thru MAJOR surgery and needs time to heal. I was back to work a week after surgery, I wish I took more time to rest. -
It sounds like head hunger... you are physically not hungry but mentally hurngry. The first few months are difficult because your affair with food is physically over but your mental affair is still there and you need to channel that to something else. When you get hungery... take a walk or do something other than focus on food.

Yummie - sound great... I will have to try it Thanks

How Far Out Can U Eat Salad?
BBdoodle replied to roxyraquel's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am a big salad person and just love salads. But after surgery they just scared me for some reason. I did not want to waste the room in my pouch on low nutritional food, I was told to eat protein first. So I started about 4 months post op eating salad with grilled chicken etc., I ate the chicken first then the salad. -
Hair loss is my major fear with this surgery, I have been very diligent about my daily intake of protein, my surgeon say minium 64 grams /daily, I try to get in about 80. I am 6 months post op and no hair loss, I also take Biotin. Are you getting your daily protein in ?
