Oh you poor thing.... I would contact your surgeon and make them aware of your reoccuring UTI's. I would have extra meds on hand as well. Feel better !!!

Bread scared me at first right after surgery. My surgeon said only have toasted bread etc. and when I had some pasta it did not set right in my pouch. So I only have bread and pasta very rarely. I can and don't have a problem eating potatoes But I do watch my carbs too !!

Not Trying To Be A Downer But?
BBdoodle replied to OleHippieGal's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I can honestly I feel AWESOME.... I have yo-yo dieted for the past 20 years. I once lost 100 lbs all by myself by dieting and exercise. Then put 60 of it back on, then lost it again.. then put it back on again. Now that I am 53 I was tired of the non-healthy yo-yo dieting, I knew a few people who hand RNY and never knew that insurance paid... if I knew that years ago I would have had surgery a long time ago. My cholestrol was 220 before surgery and it is now 157, my BP was boarderline high is is now 115/76. Surgery helps you to not over eat, it helps you maintain control. Once you start loosing the weight you get a natural high that is so awesome. There is no feeling like when you put on a pair of pants that were tight and are now loose or someone say "wow you look great". That only fuels me to do even more I love the way I feel and look now !!! -
WOW... you look great !!! Keep up the good work !

Awesome... congrats !

What is your surgeon recommending? My surgeon wants me to take a minimum of 1000mg calcium citrate, iron, biotin, B12, and a multiple.

So Disappointed :-/

Your weight can change from day to day. Mine has changed from 5 lbs from morning to evening!! I forget how many calories equal a pound of weight but it could be water retention, or you did not have a bowel movement or both... I would not worry about it, just do a bit more exercise and really watch for a day or two or go back on to a liquid diet for a week. -
Are you getting your total protein in daily? that is the #1 key in preventing hair loss. Also my surgeon has me on Biotin. I am 6 months post op and have very fine thin hair to begin with and cannot afford to loose any more - LOL. I get a minimum of 64 grams of protein daily and never miss a day without protein or biotin. I have not had any hair loss yet.

Just Want To Feel Better
BBdoodle replied to Uniqueladybug's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Have you spoken to your doctor about how you feel? Something does not sound right ... a month out you should be feeling better. The first couple of weeks are tough but each day gets better and each day I was able to drink a bit more. I would contact your doctor for sure you should not be feeling this way. You need your nutrition and water to survive.. please call your doctor !!!! -
I am 10 months post op, I have had small quantities of sweets, example: 5 M&Ms, a bite of a cookie, etc. Nothing happened to me either. As some said above... just because it did not happen this time does not mean it won't. I was thinking that nothing happened because I had such small amounts. Even if you do have a sugar craving I eat my sugar free ice pops = 10 calories and I love them... theys satisfy my sweet craving.

I was moody at times about a month after surgery. I had to adjust because I no longer had food in my life. I do lots of physical things now to replace the constat eating I once did. I exercise a lot now and that helps me mentally and physically !!!

Sounds like you are on the right road to health. Keep up the good work and hopefully your doctors will clear you for exercise. Feeling and being healthy is the best ever. As my grandmother would say.... "if you have your health you have everyting" and she is soooooo right and she lived to be 96 and was mowing her lawn 6 months before she passed.

I'm glad to hear you are doing better. Please ... it is so important to take all meds your doctor gives you and to drink your water. I hope you feel better soon -
The one fav. think I bought right after surgery was a food scale so I can be sure that I am taking the correct amounts. I use that every single day !!!

Lactose Intolerance
BBdoodle replied to Jamie Welch's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have been having a problem eating my cottage cheese and yogurt in the morning. After I have breakfast about 2 hours later I am running to the bath room. I also had my gall bladder removed 10 wks after RNY surgery, my doctor thinks I may be a bit lactose intolerant. Nothing else bothers me except for cottage cheese and yogurt and sadly I love both of them -

Weight Loss 13 Days Out
BBdoodle replied to meggiepoo's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hang in there... you are only 13 days out. The weight is not all going to come off in a week. Its going to take months of hard work, eating right and following doctor's orders. You have to work with the surgery. You body is still adjusting to the surgery, believe me the pounds will come off, some people lose quicker than others. -
I Did An Appeal And It Was
BBdoodle replied to honeydue29's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
What is making you second guess yourself? We all were scared and had tons of different emotions. But I can honestly say having surgery was the best thing I ever did !!! I feel fantastic my chloestrol was 220 and is no 157 and my BP was boarder line high and is now 115/78 ... all within 6 months. So the health benefits are great. If I had to do it all over again I would in a second !!! My advise is to follow your surgeons orders and you will not have a problem. Do everything they tell you to do with food, Water, vitimans, Protein etc. And that is awesome that you appealed and won... -
Hey JustJenn..... I also like to have #2 started by lunch... some days I am more thirsty than others where I will have #2 gone by lunch. I'm glad someone else thinks like me
