Wow.... awesome !!!

My heartrate monitor is a Oregon Scientific brand... I have used it for years and is still working fine. I paid about $100 for it. Read up on heart rate and exercise first... check out these two sites www.thewalkingsite.com and www.dietandfitnessresource.com and they will explain where you shold be with your heart rate when you want to burn fat or be in a arobic mode, or cool down mode etc. I totaly rely on my HR monitor so I know exactly that I am working out with the intensity that I should be to get results. I hope no one checked out your sexy panties - LOL

I will look it up... I have to get off line from here first. I will be right back with the info.

LOL... I don't know if they have surgery for but I know there are vaginal exercises you can do to "hold" it !!! But when I get laughing I lose all control. Once I slipped and fell on my way to the bathroom and when I hit the floor I pee'd LOL.... I am very careful now

The physc. eval was a requirement by my surgeon. I would double check with your surgeon, almost everyone has to go for a physc. eval. No sense doing it after. They just want to see if you know that WLS is a tool and that you have to work with the surgery buy eating healthy and exercising and that YOU want this for YOU and that you are not doing it because someone is forcing you or you have unrealistic expatations of WLS.

I'm 6 months post op too.... started at 216 (size 16) and now 171 (size 12). I was in a slump for 1-1/2 months without the scale moving. I increased my exercise from walking to jogging, I keep my heart rate up for min. 45 minutes to be in the fat burning zone with a heart rate monitor. The scale did not move but my pant size did. I'm kind of the opposite of you, I did not loose the weight but lost the pant size. I carry my weight in my butt and thighs. The key to loosing weight is thru diet and exercise.. they go hand and hand. You need to find out where your fat burning heart rate is by a formula that you can get on line where you put in your age and physical conditon and it will give you a number. I always thought I was busting my butt working out until I purchased the heart rate monitor and OMG was I wrong. The monitor is a watch that you wear with a strap around your chest you can purchase them for $70 - $100+ and it really helps keep you in the zone !!! I will not exercise without mine. I also constantly challenge myself too, I run longer distances, or run faster or increase the incline etc. etc. it keeps your body moving and constantly burning the fat.

WOW Jenn you are doing awesome I am 6 months post op and was cleared 2 months ago to eat regular food ... but.... I am not good with chicken, tuna, beef and my taste has really changed big time !!! I can live on cheese, nuts, grapes, Soups, fish. I am just not a big meat eater after surgery, it does nothing for me. Prior to surgery I would love a good steak every now and then but now .. yuck !! Stick with the foods that are healthy and that agree with you. When trying a new food, take it slow and chew, chew, chew, chew. Keep up the good work sweetie

I'm 53 and have to cross my legs when I sneeze or cough. I think incontinence comes with age too not only the weight thing. I also have a hard time "olding it" when I am laughing really hard too - LOL I am 6 months post op and down to 171 and have not seen any difference, it was the same when I was 150 too... I think it just may be me and gettin' old

One taco is not bad at all... there was probably about a couple of spoonfull of meat, you only had one... no big deal !!! Don't be so hard on yourself, it was not like you ate a gallon of ice cream in one night or ate a whole cheesecake - it was one taco !!. The whole thing with RNY surgery is eat in moderation !!!! Surgery helps you control the over eating, you get full quick. If I eat something "bad" I work out extra long the next day to burn it off.

Vitamins And Iron Daily Dose
BBdoodle replied to starr1512's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I would call your doctor and ask him how much he wants you to take instead of guessing. You don't want to take the incorret dosage. -
No Pre Op Diet? Anyone Else?
BBdoodle replied to worm2872's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I did not have a pre-op diet either. The day before surgery I was instructed to eat light and take a laxative @ 6 pm. I would not do anything other than what your doctor instructs you to do. -
You will go thru lots of emotions... good and bad but still its worth it !!! All your feelings are totaly normal and we all go thru it. As I have said in past posts, your "physical" affair with food is over its just dealing with the mental part of giving up something you love and replacing that focus with something else like exercise. So there are lots of emotions going on at first but it all goes away after you start adjusting to the new life style. It took me about 2 months after surgery to get the ol' emotions in check

I am 6+ months post op and really never had nausea much at all, if I at something that did not sit right with me I knew immediately and then the nasuea would happend. Or if I did not chew something enough I would get pretty nauseous. I would call your doctor if your are constantly nauseous.. something does not sound right. Even if it is normal for some people at least you will put your mind to rest that it is expected and there is nothing wrong.

Brand New And Getting Impatient
BBdoodle replied to MillyBell's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Welcome... can you schedule your surgery date to better fit in with your work schedule? If you can't I would not worry about it. I believe you can be out 6 wks on disabiltiy but then again it depends on your insurance and state etc. -
I am 6+ months post op and was in a stall for a month and a half without the scale moving at all !!!!! I increased the time and intensity of my exercise and the scale is on the move again My clothes were getting loose but the scale was not moving. But I'm good now and out of the slump Hang in there, change some things around, and get it moving again.

You can do it.... there is no greater feeling that fitting into something that is sexy, pretty and you look good. It is all TOTALLY WORTH IT !!! Go for it !!! I have no regrets what so ever !!!

Approval For Surgeon
BBdoodle replied to wonderwoman75's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Oh yeah... the hoop jumping we all go thru it. Mine took 2 months from the 1st surgeon consult to surgery date. My doctor worked back wards... (LOL) I got my surgery date then went to all the testing, physch., nutritionist, etc. etc. when I was done with all my appts. it was 2 wks before surgery. My surgeon even booked the date before insurance approval. Thank God I did not have to do any dieting before sugery !!! -
Welcome

I have lost my taste for the things I once loved. Lunch meats taste like chemicals to me now !!! And meat in general does nothing for me anymore. My smell has not changed but my taste sure as heck did !!! and I am totally OK with it because the things I lost my taste for are not good for me any way !!!
