Kristy above is soooooo right...... find a exercise you like and you will want to workout !!! I love to run and look forward to getting my run on daily. Exercise is a great stress reliver and it also melts away the lbs. on me. I was at a stall during the summer, I am almost 9 month post op. I increased my workout time and intensity, I wear a heart rate monitor to keep my heart rate in the fat burning zone etc. The key if find what you like to do and just do it !!!!

BBdoodle replied to cathyh's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I had my gall bladder remove 10 wks after my RNY, I don't know whether I have IBS but I have had some serious issues with diahrrea (sp?) for a while. Went to the gastro. dr and he says I might be lactose intolerant we are testing the waters now with eliminating all dariy and seeing if it improves. -
Protein Strugglers
BBdoodle replied to RhondaWilliams's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I use the Isopure Dutch Cholocate...its the only one I found so far that I can tolerate. I am almost 9 months post op and have tried many different shakes. I use as little milk and water as possible so I dont' have to drink so much. I mostly use the shake as my breakfast because they are sooooo filling to me. Stay away from the protein shots they are discusing.... really !!! After a while you just get use to it, I would rather suffer drinking the shakes than lose my hair. -
Partys & Hunger! Head hunger tht is
BBdoodle replied to hpineda1988's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I know exactly where you are coming from !!! A week after I had RNY I was back to work, we had a baby shower for a good work friend, only 2 people knew at the party that I had surgery, the girl the party was for and my BFF work friend. I was on liquid at that point and there were tons of great homemade foods, but I really did not want any, I was worried that everyone at work would notice I did not eat and that I was just sipping my water. But no one even noticed.... i stressed out over nothing and the party was great, I helped set up the food and helped clean up without a craving what so ever, I was not even hungry.. it really did not bother me, it was all in my head. -
Surgery December 11th. Alternating between scared and excited
BBdoodle replied to RhondaD's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You have every right to be nervous, scared etc. etc. all normal. Your RNY will be a total success... you just have to work with it and follow the eating plan and you should have no problems. I followed all instructions to the "t" and had no issues what so ever, I will 9 months post op on 12/9 and it is the best decision I ever made and would do it again in a second. I feel wonderful, I run 4+ miles a day, I am 17 lbs from my goal weight, feel great and looking pretty good too You will do fine.. keep a positive outlook, know that the surgery is only tool to help you reach your goal but your success is totally based on YOU and how you work it. Good luck -

Hi and welcome to the other side..... please keep hydrated and get your protein in.. I had soup, sugar free ice pops, yogurt, cottage cheese, etc. etc. -
LOL.... I know how you feel but its a good feeling not a bad one Its better to have EVERTHING TOO BIG than too small ..... keep up the good work !!!!
-
Oh now that looks goooooood you can cook for me any time - LOL
-
You are to eat slowly... the "full" feeling is the same post op as it is pre-op just a lot quicker The reason for eating slow is to give you brain a chance to catch up with your stomach and you dont over eat.
-
You look fantastic !!!

I run 4 miles a day, every day... I love to run sometimes I switch up and do my eliptical. I work out a minimum of 1 hour a day, I keep my heart rate up and thank my blessings that I can do all this at 54 !!!!

I am almost 9 months post op and still feel pain at times when I exercise or upon exertion. It takes a really long time to heal so I am not too concerned. Its better to be on the safe side and I would call - just for your piece of mind !

advice needed what is up with me?
BBdoodle replied to rabrijumo's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Something is not right.... please call your doctor. We all have our own little food issues, maybe you are lactose intolerant? I have issues with milk products at times, I don't get sick as you do but I have to run tothe bathroom (#2), some days are fine and other are really bad. Call your doctor and see what he says... you should not be suffering like that. -
LOL - I bought the watermelon too !!!! I never in my life tasted something so awful !!! It tasted like rotten prune juice. I tried the Special K powder packetts and they were good. I bought 2 cases on line and returned them for a full credit !!!!

Holiday party at hospital
BBdoodle replied to disneynut02's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
WOW... that was nice -
My surgeon gave me specific instructions on what to eat and how much. The first 3 wks I was 2-4 oz.of yogurt for breakfast, portein shake for snack, 2-4 oz. of soup for lunch and something mushy for dinner 2-4 oz. Check with your surgeon or nutritionist on exactly what you sould be eating and how much. Each surgeon is different.

Tomorrow Is My Last Pre Op Day!
BBdoodle replied to lisamcgowin's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
The only thing I took to the hospital was my cell phone, the hospital provides the rest. I wore very loose sweat pants and shirt into the hospital and slip on sneakers. You are not going to be able to bend over without pain so the slip on shoes/sneakers are good Best of luck on your surgery!!! -
Has your doctor given you any direction on how to accomplish this?
