why keep your surgery private
BBdoodle replied to Lovebone89's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I think it is a individual thing. Some people feel great telling everyone and others want to keep it to them selves. I personally, only told a few close friends, my sister and a couple people at work. I think it is totally up to YOU and who YOU want to know. -
I know how frustrating it can be !!!! If you keep track of your calories etc. and exercise you will loose for sure !! Its hard but you can do it. You could have water gain and maybe before you go for a weight in... don't eat or drink and make sure you go to the bathroom #1 and # 2 because that could be like up to 6-7 lbs. !!!!

Omgosh the 42 g Protein drink
BBdoodle replied to tink65's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
OMG... you are so right.... I found the 42 gr protein shots on line in watermelon flavor. I ordered two cases !!!!! I get them, crack open a shot... take a big gulp and OMG I spit it out.... I tought something was spoiled or rotten. I totally gagged on it, I open the other case thinking that something was wrong and it tasted the same. I returned them IMMEDIATELY !!!! DISCUSTING !!!!!! -
I take all the same vitimans you take as well. But I alwasy took a ton of vitimans anyway so this is nothing new to me. I have to focus on my calcium .... very important after 50......

How soon did you go back?
BBdoodle replied to ready2smile's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have a desk job for the most part. I was back to work in 1 wk. I worked half days in the office and 1/2 days at home for the first week back then I was back regular 8 hr. day. I would have probably taken more time to recouperate but I could not afford to be on disability at the time. -
Blood good or bad?
BBdoodle replied to kauaigirl808's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I never had that.... I would call your doctor ASAP ! -
Anyone drink pop on a daily?
BBdoodle replied to Amtlmt's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My surgeon says soda is a BIG NO-NO. I "was" a diet pepsi addict....I have had a couple sips of soda but nothing much more than that. Its really not good for you after RNY, please find something else. -
I justg recently had popcorn, its not my fav. but did have some at a movie, no butter. It was OK but scared me a bit because it did not go down right
-
Are your following your food schedule, chewing, and getting all your water/protein in? I would contact your surgeon.

Im about to get my skinny on!
BBdoodle replied to A Rose's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It totally sounds like you are ready - good for you and I wish you much success. I think the success depends on your attituted and dedication to work WITH the surgery - only YOU can make it a success. You are so there !!!! -
Oh wow, please stay focused on your goal and do what ever the dr. suggests, if you are not satisfied with your doctor then find one that fits your needs. Stay strong !!
-
I would talk to your pharmacist and see what they can suggest, they really know better that the doctors about meds etc.
-
Yeah... wow you are leaving early... good for you
-
Good luck tomorrow... your feelings are all normal but before you know it you will be sleeping and it will all be over with. Please keep us posted on your recovery.

Just got the statement!
BBdoodle replied to lilmickey78's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Crazy huh??? I think mine was something like 50K but what the ins. acutally pays is less than half. Who cares....let them work it out as long as you don't have to pay - LOL -
Woooohoooo.....does that feel awesome or what I love when I go to a new size it feel so good and keeps me motivated !!! Keep up the good work
-
I hear ya...... I am a slow loser as well. My surgery date was 4/9 my start weight was 216 I am 167, so I lost 49 lbs. which is awesome but I will be more comfortable at 145-150 so I am like 20+ lbs away from where I want to be. You ARE doing good !!! If you are following your diet, exercising then you are doing what you are supposed to do. From what I understand it from 1 yr to 18 months to totally get to where you want to be. I tell myself every day stay with it... stay strong and keep exercising. I too know there is more to come off we just need to find out how - LOL.... when you find out can you please let me know
-
You need to ask your doctor... once he/she sees how you are healing at certain points they release you to do certain activities, foods, etc. etc. but its all based on how well you are doing.

Sharp burning pain
BBdoodle replied to Lisa Collom's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It could be gas then if you had your gallbladder removed. I would call your doctor to be on the safe side. My bet is gas. -
Of course you are not eating anywhere near what you were eating before surgery so what you put in must come out. Since you are really not eating solid foods your poop is not going to be that much. Try the stool softner after a while you will get regulated... your body is still healing and adjusting to everything. Talk to your doctor as well.

How far post op are you? could be gas or gallbladder -
I hope you get approved ASAP as well... I could not fathom going thru the process 3 times. I was VERY lucky. My consult was Feb. 2 and I had surgery April 9.. it took 2 months for all the test etc. My ins. did not require any diet before surgery thank god. I was worried because my BMI was only 37 but my BP and cholestrol was getting high so I think that got me approved plus I have awesome insurance coverage... I guess that helps. I really hope you get approved...think positive !!!!!

I am a very slow loser too, but I stick to the plan, eat according to plan, and exercise like crazy. At one point the WLS numbers stayed the same but my size went down - go figure. If you stick with the plan you will be a success please don't focus just on the scale numbers other things are happening as well. Good luck and be patient.

You can do it... just focus on your goal and follow the WL plan your doctor has for you... just look at what you will get when you reach the 14 loss = SURGERY !!!!
