My surgery was on a Monday and Sunday I had to eat light so on Saturday I had my "last supper" and basically before surgery I did eat what ever I wanted. On that Saturday before surgery I ordered a huge bacon cheese burger, I could only eat half -- I guess my guilty feelings took over. So dont feel bad we all do it and I to was nervous, scared, happy and looking forward to a new me

2nd day into liquid diet and I cheated!
BBdoodle replied to Crkrjax76's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
We are all human and slip up so don't let it ruin your day !!! After surgery you will NOT want to eat and even the thought of food makes you full. Its totally different after surgery. A few teaspoons of liquid or something will fill you up so you don't have to worry about will power your pouch does it for you. After surgery you will not be able to inhale food like you use to because you will either get VERY sick, or be in alot of pain!!! This surgery is a tool to help you. -
LOL.. thats what happens when you lose all your padding !!!

I got mine from Walmart in a clear glass bottle and it was lemon flavor. It tasted like lemon/lime soda to me and worked VERY well and fast, like in 10 minutes I was running to the bathroom.

My surgeon provided a shopping list of the exact products, protein and vitimans he wanted me to purchase prior to surgery. Did your surgeon just generalize what he wanted you to get?? maybe ask for more specific brands etc. My surgeon wanted me on Isopure protein so that is what I got, the vitimans are multiple chewable, b-12, biotin, calcium citrate, iron. Ask your doctor of nutritionist for help... that is what they are there for.

Heading to the hospital ...

sending prayers and {{{{{ hugs }}}}}}} your way. -
Yikes.... I hope you feel better soon !!!

Cheers

I live alone with 3 dogs (2 dogs at the time of surgery). My boyfriend stayed with me the first night I was home to take care of the dogs. If I did not have the dogs I probably would have been OK on my own. I think it all depends on how YOU feel, so people recover quick other no so quick. I think it would be best if you had someone stay with you the first night home.

Thyroidectomy and WLS...
BBdoodle replied to 6GP2008's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You are 10000% right... I fight for every pound as well. I am on Armour Thyroid, I like it much better than the synthroid, its all natural. -
Thyroidectomy and WLS...
BBdoodle replied to 6GP2008's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm 163 and my goal weight is 150. My weight loss is slow, I'm 1 yr post op on April 9th. I was 216 on surgery day. I take a natural thyroid hormone called Armour Thyroid that works best for me rather than the synthetic. As the person above said and she is so right "you fight for ever pound" -
Isopure dutch chocolate is the only protein drink I can tolerate... I tried the others and they are awful but then again that is my taste buds, everone is different.

Thyroidectomy and WLS...
BBdoodle replied to 6GP2008's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had my thyroidectomy 24 years ago and my RNY last year. When i had my thyroidectomy I did not lose weight at all. Once I developed a thyroid problem that is when I started having issues with my weight. I never had a weight problem until I was about 25-26 and gained weight overnight. -
found this on another forum ,what do you think?
BBdoodle replied to nicki763's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Very interesting !!! I do agree with a lot of points. -
Your should go get a 2nd opinion.. if your dr. did not let you speak or let you explain AND said to lose weight the old fashion way then I truly believe he was against the surgery even before you walked in. Go to someone else he sounds like a quack !!!!
-
Wow that is strange.... I have been in menopause for about 3 yrs, and I am 1 yr. RNY post op. The RNY has not changed anything on me yet.
-
My surgeon said you loose the most weight with RNY and not as much with the sleeve. I wanted to get be best results and that was the RNY. My down time was 7 days, I had surgery on a Monday and I was back to work the following Monday.

No regrets here.... I am 110% satisfied and I would do it again in a second. -
When did you start to work out and what did you do?
BBdoodle replied to michellenc's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Don't do anything too physical until your surgeon clears you to do so. I was 4 wks out when he cleared me to jog/walk on my treadmill. Everyone's recovery is different, I did not have any complications and was back to work in a week. Others have not been so lucky. -
No pre-op diet?
BBdoodle replied to lessoflittlebit's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I did not have to do any diet what so ever befor surgery, I think it is all on a individual basis though. I wanted to lose a total of 70-80 lbs and my BMI was 36. Maybe people that are heavier or a higher BMI might have to diet before. My insurance company did not require it either - boy was I lucky
