    body wraps?! yay or nay

I think this is just a temporary thing, I would not waste my money !!!
  3. So sorry for your loss. In my opinion I would go with the surgery, you are a adult who can make your own decisions. Before surgery my BP was boarder line high (130/90), my cholesterol was 210. I knew the road I was heading down and I did not want to go there. I am 1 yr. post op.. BP is 110/70 and cholesterol is 150. I can run a 12 minute mile but my goal is to run a 10 minute mile and hopefully after that a 9 minute mile. I think you should have the surgery it is a tool to help you lose the weight and make the right decisions on portion control. You have to work with the surgery because surgery alone will not do it, it is the combo of diet, exercise and portion control that will make you a success. Good Luck !

    Energy drinks?

I would ask your surgeon that question. I don't drink them .. they scare me a bit.

    Not losing :(

I'm a very slow loser too I started out at 216 and now 163 13 months post op. I have my yearly check up next week and I am going to see what my surgeon says. I am very thankful for the weight I lost but I was thinking I was going to be like 140 after a year. I can no longer eat the quantity of food that I once did which is awesome and I get full really quick so some aspects of the surgery are working. I follow the diet plan, run/jog 4-5 miles daily -- this is so strange. There should be a slow losers group here!

    new attitude

I can say for myself when I am thin I am 100% more confident for sure !!! I have been really thin and I have been really heavy. And I must say that when I am thin I get treated much better than when I am heavy. In general, men open the door for me, more willing to help and women seem more friendly. This is just my observation and my expierence and I am pretty sure other feel the same way.

    Appreciate our successes

It it the most wonderful feeling when you put on clothes and they are too big! I was always use to the opposite, putting on clothes and they were always too tight and on to the next size. As someone wrote on here and it is soooooo ture "nothing tastes as good as skinny feels" (I love this quote)

    One year today

You look great !! Keep up the good work
  13. I was very luck where my surgeon's office was on top of everything !!! The surgical coordinators knew their jobs and what they had to do to get you approved. I suggest if you are not comfortable with your surgeon.... find someone else. It is very important at least to me to have a good relationship with your surgeon and their staff. I kept in constant communication with them and had a great relationship with all the people I worked with to get this accomlished.

    Relationship issues

It does get better, it all takes time to work everything out. You had major surgery and you need time to rest and heal, everyone finds their groove at some point. What helped me was that I was/am a quick healer I was out of work for 1 wk and went back into the office for the morning then afternoons I work from home. I think once you get back into your regular routine things will fall into place. This is a major adjustment for everyone in your family, I hope it all works out for you !!

    weight loss journey ?

Nothing has been that hard.... I also love Resses PB cups but my addiction was diet pepsi lime, I would drink 6-7 of them a day. I don't drink coffee or tea so that was my pick-me-up. After surgery it was not hard and a few months after surgery I took a sip of it and it tasted like all chemicals !!! I also quit smoking at the same time, I still do crave a butt every now and then but I know I have to stay smoke free because I set some running goals for my self to run a 10 minute mile by the end of the year. I run a 12.5 minute mile now so if I started smoking again I would just go back to running a 15-16 minute mile.

    Hate to eat

I'm a year post op and felt the exact same way right after surgery. It does change after a while, in the beginning I had to remind myself to eat and I NEVER felt hungry. I guess about 5-6 months post op I started to get hunger pains, I would eat a spoon full of something and I was full. Now that I am a year out, I can sit down and have a small meal, I know when to stop and in now way can I overeat like I did before surgery. Best think I ever did !!!!

    Drinking Wine?

I had my first glass of wine about 3 months post op and it was delicious Check with your surgeon first and also some people handle alcohol way different after surgery. So you may want to take a test run at home before the party just to make sure you are OK with it. You don't want to cause a scene at your MIL's 50th b-day party LOL

  25. Stay focused and take a look back at what you ate, when you feel hungry get up and do something physical or have a sugar free, fat free ice pop or something. Are you exercising?
