After I workout I have this amazing burst of energy for hours, I know those are the endorfins, I just wish they could put endorfins in a pill form - LOL

My surgeon instructions are to eat 3 meals a day NO snacking in between but make your meal enough so it will hold you to your next meal without snacking. Sometimes snacking can get out of hand so I try not to snack at all and just eat at meal time.

You look fantastic !!! Keep up the good work !

I think waiting for the approval is the worst !!! Everything rides on their answer. I was luck... my surgeon submitted everything on Monday and I was approved on Thursday, we also had all our ducks in a row and there was no way they were not going to approve!.

I did not have any leg pain, you may want to call your surgeon.
-
Yikes... how far out from surgery are you? I would tell the technician that you just had RNY surgery and cannot drink too fast or too much. Maybe see if there is something else you can take. Please let your physician know this.

You have to want something bad enough to stick with your diet. I know it is hard but it is also teaching you self control. As Mamiof3Kids said above, this surgery is only a tool it is not a cure. The ONLY way this surgery works is for you to have self control, diet, portion control and exercise. It is very easy right after surgery because you can't stand food but as the months pass and you are healed that is when you need self control to stick to your eating plan and exercise because it is very easy to fall back into bad habits and you will be right back where you started and you would have surgery for nothing. Please be strong and maybe add exercise to your weight loss plan. If you are at a function where there is food make choices for the healthy foods, salads, veggies, etc. and watch your portion control. Good luck and you can do it !!!!

My surgery was on a Monday @ 7 a.m. and I went home that Wednesday at 2 pm. The pain was not bad, I was very sore form the incisions but after the first 2 days it is OK. Right out of surgery that had me on a morphine pump and I was always hitting the button for pain meds

WOW.... awesome !!!!

I had shrimp about 3 months post op and it did not go down real well same with tuna, chicken, and any red meat so I stay away from all of that. Basically I do a non meat diet and only eat salmon and other soft fish.

I had stalls as well, I changed what I was eating and increased the duration and intensity of my workouts.

Good luck Debbie and I wish you a speedy recovery. It is very exciting, I was more excited that nervous

Its all up to you whether you gain it back or not, the surgery is only a tool to "help" you lose. The surgery, diet, portion control and exercise are key to success. If you have surgery and then a year or so out fall back into old habits then you will gain again.

WOW you look fantastic -
I love creamy tomato soup !!! I ate it all the time. You surgeon should have given you some directions on how many ounces etc. to have with each meal etc. When I was on liquids only right after surgery I would have about 1/2 cup of soup with some yogurt and that was one of my meals. I did not count soup as a liquid even though I could have. I would not go crazy trying to figure out if its a liquid or a meal, there are not that many ounces to make that much of a difference. My surgeon said 64 oz of water and 64 oz of protein daily. He knew I could not do that at first but as long as you got most of the requirement in he was OK with it.
-
I had a few days like you are having, they pass. Hang in there and feel better !
-
I don't think you should be too worried I would mention it to your doctor the next time you see him or if it gets worse. Are you on Prilosec or something to reduce the acid?
-
what is your protein requirement?
BBdoodle replied to califmomto4's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
When I first had surgery my minimum protein requirement was 64 grams/daily. I would have my shake for a mid-morning snack or use it as breakfast. I never had any problem getting the 64 grams in. I am a year post op now and drink a shake if I don't get enough protein in from food. -
My taste changed big time!!! I was a big meat eater, steak, pork, bacon, chicken. After surgery I cannot tolerate any of it and I don't even crave it, I can eat fish but for the rest of the mentioned meats I pass !!!

I follow the plan, workout like crazy and its just not budging. I have my yearly check-up next week and I am going to talk to him about it. Did your doctor say why your pouch dialated?
