Yeahhhhhhh -
None of my relationships changed, all my family and close friends that I told I was having surgery were 110% supportive. My BF just wanted to see me happy and he was supportive as well. I have heard that others get jealous etc. etc. but I have been lucky.

San Diego? I'm 3 weeks out, feeling the ups and downs of it right now.
BBdoodle replied to MR2013's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
After a while you get into the swing of things and it is second nature. You have changed bad eating habits for goods one and that is MAJOR !!! Your life is not revolved around food anymore !!! The love affair is over!! I am 14 months post op and I have so much time to do other things instead of focusing on food all the time. I know what I can eat and what I can't anymore, I am on regular food. Don't worry you will get into the groove of it soon. -
Good luck

I run daily Monday thru Friday, with a 4-5 mile speed walk with my dogs on the weekend. I have a NordicTrack Incline trainer in my basement along with a eliptical and weight machine. I do take one day off on the weekend whether it be Sat or Sun just to give the body a rest. It sounds like you got bit by the running bug I love to run... it makes me feel good. Any help or advise you need please ask away Also the weight melts off once you get into a routine with running

You look great -
It takes time to learn how to run and no less run a race !! Be patient with your self, even thought you thought you could do it because of the other exercises... running is way different than walking, kick boxing, weight lifting etc. You use different muscles, you have to learn how to breathe etc. etc. etc. It took me like 6 months to learn how to run 1 mile without stopping. I would do just like you did... run a bit , walk a bit, run a bit walk a bit. Then once I got use to it and learned how to breath, I set my goals a bit higher where I would speed walk a 1/4 mile then jog a 1/4 mile, then when I when I got comfortable with that I switched it to a 1/2 mile walk/1/2 run and slowly worked my way to a full mile. Remember BABY STEPS... is key. Good luck

I would call you surgeon !!! Its better to be safe than sorry. -
Some people are slower losers than others, stick to your plan, get exercise in and you will be fine.
-
It does get better, just watch what you are eating, chew, chew, chew, chew and chew some more. My problem 2 months post op was learning to chew properly because if I didn't I would get awful sick for hours. I learned real quick. Start out slowly introducing new foods a bite at a time if you must.

Can I just say thank you!
BBdoodle replied to Miche11e's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yeah... You absolutely have to stay on it if you feel your surgeon is not doing it fast enough for you. I was lucky where my sureon's staff were very agressive in getting the approval so I just had to sit back and let them do the job Congrats and good luck with our surgery -

All normal... keep focused and #1 priority should be to get your water and protein in on a daily basis. Surgery is only a tool to lose weight to be successful you also have to do your part by exercising. Get your heart rate pumping and you will lose quickly. Stay focused and follow your plan and the weight will come off with the three key thing... PROTEIN/WATER, EXERCISE and PORTION CONTROL. If you do all of them there will be success no matter what

I would rather be skinny and no boobs -
I saw my surgeon at the very first consultation, we mapped out a plan, tests, nutrition etc. set a surgery date and I did not see him until the day of surgery. I passed all my test with flying colors and I'm sure if I needed to talk to him I could have seen him but I really did not have any questions and was so ready for it. My surgeon held mandatory classes before surgery to answer any questions and it was in a group environment. You could chat with him privately after class to. He chatted with me a while before I went into surgery as well.
