    I find the taste of ice (especially tiny crushed kind from zaxby - like the hospital) to taste much better than water.

    Hello Everyone. Well I'm on day 4 of this horrible nightmare. It was nothing like I expected and I thought I was more prepared. Day 1 great while you are on IV. First walk you realize the horrible pain. I spent 2 days in hospital and once I got home, the sad face kicked in - why did I do this? Anyone else having trouble trying to drink protein shakes? Or adjusting to first week?

    I'm on day 5 and I'm not getting any protein I either. Right now, water hurts and shakes make my throat tingle. It is just awful! Any other way to get in protein?

    Hi Jessica, I think you should join a support group to start gaining control of your eating. I actually spent the last week before surgery enjoying small amounts of food I would not be able to have for a while. Most of the food I don't even think about - but 6 months down the road when your hungar comes back - you have to know how to eat or you will be very sick after your surgery.
