    Sh!t Just Got Real. Regrets.

I went thru the "WTF did I do to myself?" As well after surgery. I was expecting to not be hungry, I always felt hungry. My doc had me on mush, I hate mushy stuff. Everyone around me was eating real food and I was in mourning that I wouldn't be able to eat again. I am now 11 Weeks out. I feel amazing. I can eat real food. The WTF's have passed and I am honestly able to say I am proud of myself for doing this, taking care of myself, putting me first. The hard moments are few and far between. Hang in there! This place is full of support and a great place to vent during those moments. Wishing you great success! Sent from my VS920 4G using RNYTalk
  2. Of chicken get stuck tonight. I have not had any problems until tonight. I accidentally swallowed before I chewed well. The pain was not fun but the thick mucus/spit was so much worse, it made me gag over and over again for like an hour but I can't throw up for some reason. I haven't been able to for years. Five hours later, I was able to have a popsicle. I will be going back to cutting everything into baby size bites..... Sent from my VS920 4G using RNYTalk

    Had My First Bite

Sorry about that guys, my darn phone likes to send half complete messages.... What I was going to say is I have been eating chicken for a few weeks and have had no issues, but my pouch sure taught me last night that when it is not happy, I am not happy. Happy to say that today is so much better though!

    Trouble With Dr's Office

I'd be speaking to the office manager. That's Absolutely unprofessional and uncalled for! I had a specific date I needed to complete my surgery by as well. I was on the phone with my insurance and the doctors office daily til I got it approved. I'm so glad that's all over now. Good luck and hopefully it will be smooth sailing now! How To Manage Work After Rny?

It's been an adjustment for me going back to work. Remembering to eat enough and get in my fluids. I'm much better about it at home for sure, but after two Weeks, i'm doing pretty good. Packing small containers of high Protein things has been my focus and Protein Bars help when I can't get to a fridge or microwave. Luna bars even come in mini size, perfect pouch size. I also bring a Water bottle full of ice water so I can measure my intake. Good luck on your return, you will do great. Sent from my VS920 4G using RNYTalk

    Weird Pre-Surgery Jitters

My jitters were not what I would look like on the table, but what I would say on my way under. I had surgery on my knee a couple years ago and I was awake in the OR while they were getting me situated. They gave me the iv stuff that starts the process as they were strapping my arm down and I blurted out "I'm being tied down to a table in a room full of hot doctors and i'm not going to be awake to enjoy it!" The last thing I remember was seeing my doctor who looks like a sweet old Grandpa. I was so embarrassed when I woke up and found out it really happened!! The nurse was trying to assure me it was no big deal. Lol!! Sent from my VS920 4G using RNYTalk

    Friday Weigh-In!

I'm up 0.7lbs this week, but starting at 308 and being 269 at week 7, i'm not going to sweat it. I have found that struggling with eating enough causes my weight loss to stall. Its weird having problems eating enough vs. eating too much. Congrats to all the losers this week! You all are doing great!! Sent from my VS920 4G using RNYTalk

    Anxiety

Another thing to consider is estrogen is stored in fat. As you start loosing weight, your body will be processing the stored estrogen on top of everything else. The first three weeks were so hard for me, then I had my first post op appointment and was released to start reintroducing solid foods slowly. I think that helped tremendously because it restored a sense of normalcy in my life. I was able to start venturing away from home a little more without worrying about mush. Exercise helped as well Sent from my VS920 4G using RNYTalk

    Dumping

Try steaming cauliflower till its very soft and blend that like you would mashed potatoes. Tastes almost the same, sat better in my pouch than potatoes. Sent from my VS920 4G using RNYTalk
